Just now, The Stormfather said:

"His name's Maj. He likes jam. Mostly because it's his name backwards."

Meron snort-laughed.

Meron tries to treat Mark like he wasn't with his group. Marewill knows that he wasn't one of the people who did it, but she's still cold to him as a scapegoat of sorts for the whole group. Meron would've probably told Mark this so he at least understands why she's not so nice to him.

Rashi put a hand on her shoulder.

"What matters now is that you're the kind of person who will never do that again. And that you're in a place where you will never have to make that kind of choice again."

Dougella hurries along the road. The darkness laying like a blanket over the town. I should have been their earlier. She chides herself. But I need to cut myself some slack. She grins, the news bouncing around in her brain. She reaches Mare's and Tinkers door. Knocking on it curtly.

“I don’t know, but they knocked. Besides, it’s not like we’re not safe. The house is full of people who defeated a small army of Peacekeepers.”

"Speaking of that, do you know any good doctors? I think Adris' leg might need some more help. Something with it doesn't seem quite right, and it was too long ago for me to heal."

Dougella walks in the door, a bit of a waddle in her step. She blushes as she enters, heat racing through her. "Sorry for being late" she says as she comes through the door. "and before you ask, he will be here shortly" She sits against the wall, letting out a sigh of relief. The weight, of multiple people seemingly lifted off her feet.

Rashi didn't say anything more. She just stood there, a comforting presence, gently rubbing Mare's back with her hand.

She smiled weakly at Rashi. “Thank you.”

Dougella nods. She often still called him by that name, even though he had changed it. She smiles at Marewill. "Sorry for not being around the past few months." she apologises. "I have been busy" she smiles, rubbing her own stomach. "Do you guys have anything to eat?" she smiles sheepishly. Before turning to Mark, who seems to be the most up to date on the Games.

"How is he going?" and how is she? she thinks to herself. Her distant relative, one she should know more about.

Mark smiles as Maj mentions him.

"I mean, I didn't tell him to murder someone who didn't listen, but, I'm glad he's at least thinking about the thigns I taught him."

Rashi smiled back. "It's what I'm here for."

She stood in silence for a moment, then spoke again.

"I'm glad my son found you."

"Why did they do this? I thought the last games were stopped because they knew it was wrong, how on earth did they go right back to this?"

"Because we never truly got rid of them. I'd bet that it's the descendants or its the same scumbags running the place, at least in the background. The same people still hold the power, is what's truly happening, behind the scenes of all of the fanfare about the games."

This smile was more real. “And I’m glad I found him. … where is he, by the way?”

“They stopped because the tributes fought their way out. And then with the civil war, they had to focus their efforts on that.”

"I'm not entirely sure, actually...he might be with Falr. Or it might just be that this is as hard on him as it is you."

She smirked. "I thought you'd know better than anyone."

“Just because I know him well doesn’t mean I know where he is,” she grinned.
