"Probably not," She replied, glancing around at the area again. "You wouldn't happen to know which plants are man-eating around here, would you?"

Oooooo good question

"This is place is strange, something feels off," She continued, ignoring Sharp.

"There's actually not a lot of man eating plants, although this place is different from what I'm used to" Winter responds. "But I can recognize edible plants and set traps for animals."

Would there be edible plants he could recognize in the jungle?

She turned to the nurse. "Yes?"

She clears her throat. We’ve fixed him up the best we can but it appears the majority of the impact was taken by the left side of his face causing the top three layers of skin on the bottom half of that side to completely rip up and the top half to be burned and scraped through two layers…” she takes a deep breath.

And yet you didn't let me in there...

"Continue."

Rueben yelled out in pain then dropped down to his hands and knees trying to crawl away from his attacker.

Murr struck his injured shoulder again, pushing him down with the intent to pin him against the ground.

“Your… uhm… son… may require a necessary surgery requiring a face transplant… however…” she pauses. “I’ll explain after you see him, please don’t bring any reflective surfaces in there…. We wouldn’t want to scare him.” She opens the door.

Her eyebrows wrinkled. She put the pad in her bag and followed the nurse in.

“Why is this happening to me!” Rueben said as he took another blow to his shoulder that’s not good he try’s to move but finds he’s stuck

Murr looked down at the boy. The emptiness and desperation of the fight receded, and he felt nausea tighten his chest. I should have... I could have just run away. Why... Any coherent thought was drowned out by an onslaught of horror and shock. Anger, too, though he could hardly be sure at what.

His voice found a calm that was not present in his mind or body as he continued to hold the boy down. "I'm sorry. I'm not going to leave you here to die of thirst, or get found by someone else. Is... there anything you want to say?"

“Maybe in another life we could’ve been friends… may the games bless you..” Rueben said with resignation.

She comes in and he has bandages over his face, some are slightly damp with blood. Have has some water next to his bed and a small amount of untouched food. He looks up with his one uncovered eye and sees her and almost smile, at least it seems like it from what you can see. “Hi mama!”

Murr felt an impulse tugging at him, telling him to help Rueben, to try and save him. But I can't even support myself yet. And I need to live.

"...Maybe." With a shaky hand, Murr raised the rock up again, then brought it down on the boy's skull as hard as he could.

Ugh. This feels bad, but I suppose my character is different from me. I don't know if you want to write his experience before and as he dies?

"Okay, sounds good." Sharlin couldn't do that. Maybe he'd be more useful then she'd thought.

"I guess we're allies then?"

A group of Meekers, small mouse-like creatures with a sharp tooth at the front of their mouths, seemed agitated by her presence, but didn't attack her. None of the plants seemed hostile either...yet.

Areol crept through the trees, careful where she stepped. She was looking for freshwater and anything she could use to build a shelter; fallen sticks, leaves, and the like.

Reef kept his head on a swivel as she walked.

@UndiagnosedCrazyBoy

A bird flys in from the tree canopy, a letter in its talons.
Letter:

Excellent job. Here’s a reward for your effort; this aviar will hide you slightly from attention.

I’ll let you pick its appearance.

A small part of the stony layer she’d built around her heart melted seeing him like this. She sat next to the bed and set her hand on his. “Hello.”

@UndiagnosedCrazyBoy

Rueben looks towards his attacker as the strike comes down. He doesn’t try to block, accepting his fate. He cocks a smile I wonder how my parents are  he thinks as the rock comes down, striking him dead.

Thanks for playing!

I know this was your first game, so I hope you join the next one to get some more RPing in as a tribute.

If you want to come back to RP a monster or other threat, let me know.

Also, Reuben's Aviar now belongs to Murr.

If that means you don’t kill me!

”Um, yeah, I guess.”

He stands there awkwardly, unsure what to do.

”I’m Winter, by the way”

It's possible she's famous from helping the rebellion, you can decide if he's heard of her or not
