Squall nods, pulling out a pen and continuing writing in his notebook.

"I don't really see what scribbling down notes is gonna do," Sharlin mumbled as she repacked her stuff and slung her bag over her shoulder. Once again, she kept her crossbow out and extra bolts ready.

"Make sure to double check the details of this place, we don't want to forget where shelter is."

Noted, it's very misty.

"Misty?"

Nevermind.

"Must be a dead person thing."

“Finding water is important, we just need to be careful.” Winter answers. He wasn’t sure who the new tribute was, but Sharlin seemed to trust him, so he would go along for now.

"Good morning! This is my . . . cousin? I think? He said we're related and he's weird enough to be part of my family." Sharlin told Winter, waving at Squall.

The tiny microphone attached to the shoulder of Sharlin's shirt beeped slightly, indicating a communication from a GM.

@J. Magi

@SmilingPanda19

She jumped more then she was willing to admit.

Ooooooooo they didn't have those back in my day.

"Uh, I gotta take this." She didn't trust her teammates enough to let them in on whatever the GM's wanted.

Sharlin walked a good distance into the jungle (keeping an eye out for vines and ants), so she could still see the other tributes but they wouldn't be able to hear.

She gave the mic a little flick, trying to decide how it worked. "Hello? Stinky rich people?"

Squall notes this and writes it down. Misty and GM's taking favorites? need to get mole's take.

Forrest chuckled. "From your perspective, I suppose."

He grew serious. "I'd like to propose a little arrangement. For my own benefit, yes. But also for yours. And I think you'll find it favorable, especially because it requires you to do very little."

"M'kay sure, you seem bearable enough because you admitted to being stinky . . . honesty is a virtue you know."

She didn't hesitate to take his offer, what did she have to loose?

What about me?

"He doesn't know about you, idiot."

lol you didn't say that . . . she would've moved because she was still watching the boys from afar

Sharlin noticed Squall.

"Can I have one private conversation?" She said in mock annoyance. "Go on now, let me talk to Mr. Evil incorporated, you can catalogue the types of palm trees in the arena or something."

She moved back another several paces while keeping his eye-contact.

"The other Gamemakers are rewarding violence with supplies, Aviar, and whatnot. And of course they are. They're bloodthirsty sadists who think this burgeoning country needs pure violence to solve it's problems.

"Of course, violence is what led to its necessity in the first place...but you'd know that better than anyone, wouldn't you, Sharlin of The House?"

Forrest grinned. "Forgive me, but it's refreshing to have someone talk to me this way. It's been years.

"Regardless...I have a personal interest in your history. The raids of your organization cost the old Capitol - and my business - a lot during the war. One would imagine you'd be living a life of peace in the Crescent, now, but here you are, in the deepest parts of the new Capitol's clutches.

"Not to mention the spike you have..."

I have to go for a few hours now, so don't do too much without me. We can continue this conversation later as needed.

Sharlin frowned. "It's just a hunk of metal, nothing important . . . I am very interesting though, thank you for noticing."

Nice save.

She grunted.

First stretches, the heat of the morning warming the air beneath her kayak. Strange dream I had about meeting that other tribute. She shrugs, before getting some of her equipment, her bow, and arrows, as well as he backpack full of stuff which she hadn't even opened yet. She sets it down on the ground, "Lets see what is in here hey?" she says quietly to her Aviar, which she had named Kholin.

Evan finished climbing up the small cliff and examines his surroundings. @Ancient Elantrian

A bird lands on a tree near him and starts screeching at him. So naturally he asks it "Whada you want?"

Then he hears the voice in his head again;"I . . . I'm Aerol. Are you real? Is this real?"

"Yes I'm real. Do you know how this happened? Why we can hear each others thoughts? Or are you speaking and I can just hear your voice in my head?" Evan thinks/asks himself.

We should bold whatever the other person says from now on; it'll be easier to separate when reading.

Whenever necessary.

Yes I'm real. Do you know how this happened? Why we can hear each others thoughts? Or are you speaking and I can just hear your voice in my head?

I'm not speaking out loud- I'm just thinking normally . . .

Before this I ate a weird purple flower. Her stomach grumbled. And . . . actually I'm still hungry.

She began packing supplies into the kayak, pulling a single can of food out and opening it.

Where are you?

"Of course."

"Now, while the rest of my coworkers are playing it safe. They find the tributes that have proven themselves to their twisted minds and give them rewards. However, I am a businessman. And quite a successful one, at that. And in business, you can't wait until a prospect proves itself to invest in it. You have to use intuition.

"And my intuition says it's worth investing in you. Call it a petty competition with the others. A chance to prove that rewarding wanton murder isn't necessarily the way to play things."
