Through the Living Wrath he/him Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 Just now, The Aspiring Archivist said: They noticed that he had two Aviars with him, and a third bird flew a bit nearer to them. Murr grit his teeth. I was hoping to be alone tonight. Hopefully they're too far to see the bloodstains... He chose not to answer. He was far enough out that he plausibly might have not heard them. Quote You chose the wrong person to not notice bloodstains. (better eyesight) (completely and incredibly paranoid) Berin’s eyes narrow just slightly as he sees a slight discoloration. One he knew quite well. “Maybe he didn’t hear us. Let’s get in the water. I’ll call again there.” Berin looks back and widens his eyes. “They’ve gotta be better than what’s out there, right?” Berin slightly pets his Aviar, Madness. “Three Aviars, wow! I bet he found some of them out there.” Berin is silently thanking his luck. That he could deal with a strong competitor and a weak one this early in the game, before they started getting sponsors…

That he could deal with a strong competitor and a weak one this early in the game, before they started getting sponsors… Quote Well they are splatters, not full on patches of blood, and they're pretty far, so I doubt they'd be able to notice with any amount of certainty. Murr watched them, getting a pretty good look with El's help. I might have to go further out. I can't deal with two people in the water and without a weapon. He caught himself. Only if it comes to that. I can't let myself be comfortable killing. Or even thinking of it. But if they get closer, they'll definitely see the blood, and everyone heard the cannon.
Scars of Hathsin he/him Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 Earlier... The kayak had made good time over the water, the oar blade, slicing and shoving the water behind her. Propelling her along. I never thought I would see one of these again. Her mind racing back the past 6 years, and the dramatic changes that had been taken across the country. Industrialisation had grounded to a hlat, after her distant relative, that Dougella. Had escaped the last ones. I am probably here because of her. She thinks to herself. Land masses dot the horizon, and she passes all of them, heading for the one in front of her. Lets see what these games have in store. She pulls up to the beach, not noticing the blue kayak that sat nearby, somewhat hidden. Present First lays under the kayak, which she had pulled towards the other side of the island, keeping away from the bird, and other tribute that she had spied through the trees. Which dotted the island, the many streams separating them, segmenting them. I wonder if they will team with me? She thinks wistfully, stroking her Aviar, whose plumage was soft, oddly contrasting for the powers it gave. She flipped the kayak on top of her, and the hole that she had dug, her aviar next to her, and she starts drifting. Quote Interaction? @Through The Living Glass

I killed the noble who adopted me of the streets for no good reason. But u raise a good point. Berin looks at the boat, reanalyzing the blood. Maybe he was jumping to conclusions. He could see him in the corner of his eyes, shaking his head.

"There," he said to Vistari and Third. "You've had your death. If it's no difference to you, I'd like to continue my observations from my personal office." He left the monitoring room without waiting for a reply. @Ancient Elantrian @Dragonheir Forrest walked the halls, carved from igneous rock, leading to the his personal office and suite. His mind wandered to Pellee and Fifteen, who he hadn't seen since that morning... Out of curiosity he signaled an Avox aide, which waited in the halls to be called upon. A barbaric way to create servants...the amount of mental torture required to turn a rebel against the state into a mindless servant... "When you have a moment, please inform Miss Rozegaze that I would like to have a chat with her. She can contact me from her office. If require clearance to communicate through language, you have my permission to write a single note to bring her." The servant nodded, then turned and hastily walked away. Hm. Forrest continued to his personal office. @Spark of Hope @SmilingPanda19 Vistari glanced at the monitors. She liked the death, though. So many feelings in the tributes. She wondered where Forrest had gone, but kept herself glued to the games. Tracking every moment. Every tribute. Watching. Waiting. For one of them to make a mistake.

The person had taken the paddle side of their oar out of the water, and dipped the other side in… They noticed it too. He could see them in the corner of his eyes, shocked at what the man had done. One of them even went so far as to appear next to the water, as if inspecting the oar. But that wasn’t how it worked. They only saw what he did; they were just more attentive. Quote What's so shocking about it? He's just dug it into the sand, or failing that caught it on the rock to keep the raft from drifting

One side is like a paddle, the other is pointy (pointier, anyway, not super sharp) to dig into the ground. I just didn't get what was so shocking about it.

You using that other side was suspicious because it implies ur hiding something about that side, because it would have easier to just use the rowing side, even if that side is sharper. Remember, I am very paranoid. But here, I re put my stuff on the thread, bc it still applies. (Even if u aren’t hiding anything, Berin would still do that.) Berin, if he weren’t acting, would have narrowed his eyes. The person did not have to flip the oar over… it seemed more practical to use the flat of the oar, as it was already near the water. They notice it too. They appear closer to the center of his eyesight than normal, one even appearing close enough to apparently inspect the oar. But they can’t see anything he can’t. They’re just… better at picking out what isn’t needed.

Unlike the animals he’d managed, they had no instincts, no desire to win. Third gritted his teeth. He shouldn’t have to do this; he should be their equal, or even superior.
