"Very well," Lady Genuhk said, continuing now that confirmed they would stay in.

"Allow me to explain our challenge." She gestured at the brightly colored wagon.

"The premise is simple, two wagons, two teams. You will be given a wagon to protect as it makes it's journey from Tarjin to our neighboring city Morduno."

"The highways these days filled to the brim with thieves and monsters," Master Igenes explained. "Each wagon is full of priceless treasure from Lord Ehlu's treasury. I'm sure you can imagine that if he finds out you were responsible for loosing a chunk of his wealth, he won't be likely to hire you."

Lady Genuhk nodded. "It couldn't be simpler, just protect the wagon until it get's to Morduno. Make it there in one piece and you'll be considered for the job."

Master Igenes waved a wrinkly hand at the wagons. "We'll each travel with one of the teams so we can see your progress. Team 1 will take the blue wagon, and I'll go with them. Lady Genuhk will be with the 2nd team in the red wagon."

"If we don't have any questions, go ahead and get in your respective wagons."

Nera sheepishly raised her hand.

"What?"

"I've never been to Morduno, how long will the journey be?"

"Around three days."

Alvar is smirking meaningfully at Sleeper until the part about the judges coming with them. Clever, he muses, they’re getting an actual job out of us for free, and we can’t even attack the other wagon without being caught. Although maybe we could spread rumors about the wagons and claim the red one is a decoy…
Alvar, not having any actual questions, gets ready to go to the wagon.

@J. Magi, can you describe the wagons?

“I might place a hole in the top of the wagon so I can quickly warn you all when I see something. Or someone.”

Dint took out an arrow, using it to attempt to punch a hole through the top. He pulls a special mixture he had prepared from his herb belt, and gets ready to down some.

“Alternatively, you could simply knock on the roof.” Alvar wonders why Dint has his herbal mixture out already. There aren’t any monsters around.

Seeing Alvar’s stare, he explains himself. “It will help me stay awake.”

Both wagons are of the same size and build, they're only difference being in color, of course.

They have that typical 'pioneer' look to them, with a round canvas roof and a wooden base with four wheels. Each wagon is pulled by two horses. The wooden area/ floor of the wagon is fairly big, and it'll easily carry the whole team as well as whatever cargo is inside. The canvas is about two or three feet back from the front of the wagon, so there's a place for the driver to sit.

Master Igenes climbed inside the blue wagon with surprising agility, and sat back on a bench under the canvas. Lady Genuhk made her way to the red one.

"I can sit inside and shoot bandits with my crossbow," Nera told her team. "I'm worried I won't be able to keep up walking, you know because . . ." She gestured at her tiny halfling legs.

Alvar grits his teeth. “Good.” he says, putting lots of emphasis on the word, in a strange combination between politeness, sarcasm, and seething anger.

Alvar sighs, seeing even more ‘accessory to property damage’ charges in his future. “I suppose we should get going.”

He turns to Sleeper to arrange patrol patterns with him. “Do you think we should circle around, or just sweep ahead of us for ambushes?” @TheRavenHasLanded

Lady Genuhk just shrugged as she climbed inside. She clearly didn't seem to mind.
