Hi everyone!

I am in fact a new person. (I checked to be sure.) I've been doing my Stormlight reread and thought I should drop in. I've been a fan of the Cosmere and Brandon's other works for years.

I'm also an archivist by trade, and play a fair amount of video games (JRPGs in particular!) and the like.

Nice to meet everyone!

Thank you! But I want the cookie...

I like hemalurgy from a story perspective! It's super creepy, I like the way we learn about how it affects the world over Eras 1 and 2, and the implications about it in Era 2.

Welcome to the shard Texside!!! Firstly what's your favorite cosmere book? Nextly who's your favorite character? Lastly what colors are your bones?

Thank you!

Oooh, favorite book, that's a tough one... I think I will go with Words of Radiance, but ask me another day and the answer might change to Shadows of Self, Oathbringer, or Rhythm of War.

My favorite character is Shallan. I like her sense of humor and she's gotten a laugh out of me a lot of times, but I also like her character arc and everything she went through. There's a lot of really fantastic scenes and conversations she had with Wit, Kaladin, Adolin, and others, which I like a lot. And I empathize a lot with her background.

The colors of my bones are a closely guarded secret.

Hey there!

Welcome to the Shard!

If you could visit any country on Roshar for a week, which country would you visit any why?

Thank you!

I think I'd have to say the Purelake. That seems like a nice spot for a vacation (and relatively unlikely to get me in a lot of trouble).

I do like bagels! Cinnamon raisin are my favorite. I grew up in Texas and moved to the East Coast a couple of years ago, so I'm coming to appreciate what a good bagel tastes like. The things I had growing up were... not. I'm still not sure about savory bagels, but think I should try to expand my bagel-y horizons.

Least favorite book... ooh, good question. I think my absolute least favorites were just some really dry, not terribly interesting books I read in grad school; lots of tables and charts that didn't say a lot of interest. The one that made me angriest in recent memory was a popular science book by Neil deGrasse Tyson, titled Cosmic Queries. The content was interesting...

...but he interspersed it with screenshots of quips he made on Twitter. It was jarring, hard to read, and was literally interjecting social media posts into book reading. It was a very baffling decision that made it painful to read.

...JRPGs, you say?

Have you perchance played any of the Xenoblade Chronicles series?

Well! You might say I know why you shouldn't touch a man's turtle. That I know what time it always is on Bionis. That, in fact, that's a rare doodad over there.

Hello there! Welcome to the Shard!

What is the best type of Peanut Butter?

Hi! Thank you!

I'm going to go with smooth. I do like a good crunchy peanut butter sometimes, but a nice organic smooth peanut butter is just... whew. Good stuff!
