"Wait, Jolane... last night, I went upstairs to look for Robert. I knocked on a door because I heard someone in there and thought it might be him... was that you?"

Jolane was chatting with that minstrel from the previous night...Ma'tani considered talking to her, once Jolane had left.

There was also the "witch-hunter". Though Ma'tani didn't particularly feel like gathering the patience to deal with him at the moment.

"Everybody always runs off before proper introductions," July grumbled as he munched on the bread. "I don't even know eastern-lady's name."

"No, nothing." That was true. It was more what she didn't say.

It depends where the language is from. Ma'tani speaks Toa'tani, Shenai, and whatever the basic language of this country is. So if it isn't one of those she doesn't speak it.

And I don't think Toa'tani and Shenai would be widespread enough here for Jolane or Robert to know them.
