I just started listening to words of radiance and I realized that the speaker gives Lopen the same accent as Wayne. On a lighter note Moash also sounds like Wax. How else do you think Lopen and Wayne are similar?

Hahaha, I'll have to give the audio books a listen sometime.

Let's see...they are both aloof to the point of casual cruelty to bystanders on occasion. They both use comedy and self deprecation as a defense mechanism. They both have deep social and emotional trauma relating to personal injury experiences on opposite sides of the spectrum (Wayne on the survivor's guilt side and Lopen on the permanent disability side). They're both ridiculously tough despite wearing the persona of a goofball like a glove. And it is famously difficult to gauge how self-aware either of them is at any given moment despite implications that they might be wise in a borderline divine sense of the word at times. Lol.

My bad lol

It's the Audiobook Curse - primary Listeners tend to have trouble spelling names and terms, unless they spend significant time on the Coppermind (or similar).

I feel like the spelling was mentioned somewhere in BoM but I could be totally making that up

I made the mistake of spending a bunch of time on cosmere things and accidentally got spoiled for

Warning: BIG Spoilers for Oathbringer, Rhythm of war, and The Lost Metal.

Spoiler

Elkohar, Teft, and Wayne's deaths. For Teft I thought he was a herald and was on the coppermind searching if he was (he was not, I was just a little silly, genuinely don't know where that thought came from)

Sorry about the spoilers. More sorry you don't seem to have been told about the Time Machine on the coppermind that would allow you to view a version of a page from before the release of a given book to dodge spoilers for any book released after that time.

I primarily read the books but I've moved towards audiobooks while I work. But yeah it's definitely a curse

I'd love to have Wayne and Lopen meet on-page. Or Lift with Wayne. I'm not sure if they'd be best friends or if Wayne would have serious beef with an eleven year old because of her hot takes on hats.
