Each Surge's Virtue

I recently thought of this idea, and I haven't expanded much on it yet. I would like to ask you all for help on this theory! 

So you know how each surge is shared by two orders? I had this idea that each surge has an attribute. Like for example, Lightweavers and Truthwatchers share the surge of illumination. Lightweavers focus on finding self-truth, and Truthwatchers focus on finding fundamental truth. So Illumination's attribute would be truth. And Lightweavers and Elsecallers share Transformation. Elsecallers seek self-improvement, so Transformation would be making yourself better, or something like that. I included a chart to help! Ideas welcome!

Can you add a ring with the Herald's associated Virtues? They dont have overlap the way the Surges do but we might be able to find some level of thematic continuity between them and the shared surges.

I've always loved this idea. There was a previous forum for it but it didn't get a lot of traction. So far this is my best guess 

Abrasion - ?

Adhesion - Trust/Honor/Connections

Cohesion - ?

Division - Responsibility, this one isn't intuitive but dustbringers try to learn self-mastery to be respoonsible for themselves and their actions. Skybreakers are more about external/societal responsibility. Making sure that each action they take is the responsible one

Gravitation - Honor, Windrunners are if an action feels honorable. Skybreakers focus on following a defined code to be honorable

Illumination - Truth 

Progression - Focusing on others? Edgedancers care about people. Truthwatchers we know less about but they seem to focus on external truth so maybe its to help society? 

Transformation - Self Change? Lightweavers change through the truths they embrace. Elsecallers want to become the best version of themselves

Transportation - Individuality Elsecallers want to be the best version of themselves instead of trying to reach an external standard. Willshapers pursue freedom and what that looks like for them? 

Tension - Integrity? We don't know much about stonewards and bondsmiths are kind of hard to compare to so that is mostly vibes 

 

I do wonder if looking at the Fused could help somehow. They each use only one surge so it should be easier to figure out without a different surge interferring. For example the Heavenly Ones are very honorable which supports gravitations attribute being honor.

I’ve given this some thought myself and I figure these might be describing the Cognitive aspects of the Surges. Anyway, I agree with @Elite01 that the Fused Brands can be used as a third reference point for the Surges’ influence on personality.

This is how I figure it:

Adhesion - trust/responsibility, basically establishing Connection

Gravitation - authority, hierarchy, maybe a bit of charisma

Division - seems to be about selflessness in the sense of separating ego from decision-making, both Orders externalise their morality

Abrasion - sympathy seen in DB obedience and ED empathy

Progression - maturity, augmenting in a qualitative sense, generosity

Illumination - revelation as you said

Transformation - individuality, I think this is about the unique way a thing’s Cognitive aspect filters/changes the Spiritual aspect

Transportation - independence, thinking for yourself

Cohesion - conformity, the Deepest Ones are a good example for this

Tension - we haven’t seen much of this one but I would guess integrity, compromise (in the sense of making allowances) or perhaps augmenting in a quantitative sense
