Mark Lindberg he/him Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 I couldn't find this anywhere on the boards, so I figured I should post it here. WHAT DOES IT MEAN? 4
Joe ST he/him Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 According to wikipedia, its related (unsurprisingly) to the Aztek. Aztlán
WeiryWriter he/him Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 Which makes sense since the sequel is supposed to be taking place in South America and have a Native American viewpoint in it. This was my personal favorite thing revealed in the SLC Comic-Con audio but there is a lot of neat stuff in there, and it's definitely worth the wait (we are nearly there so it should be posted soon-ish). 2
WeiryWriter he/him Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 So joel will not be the protagonist? Unknown.
Yacob Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Dear Brandon, Please write the sequel to The Rithmatist Thanks. Yacob 8
Newan he/him Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Wikipedia said that Aztlan could have been in what is now northwestern Mexico or southeastern US. Soooo... does that relate to the cave paintings mentioned in the book?
Orion2001 Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 It probaly does have something to do with cave paintings
WeiryWriter he/him Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Correction mine. I apologize if that's kinda obnoxious of me, but the correct term, if you can't use the tribe name, if indigenous people. I'm very touchy about things like this. Sorry. My apologies if I caused any offense, I've always been taught that Native American was the "correct" term. I've never seen it discussed as problematic. Please send me a PM, I'd like to know more.
Elbereth she/her Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 I was also taught that Native American was correct. On the other hand, my American History textbook only uses "American Indian" or "Indian", which... is very irritating.
Ammanas Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 We might be getting the sequel sooner than we thought; although its still unclear at this point. This from the Krammer Reading facebook page: Another Brandon Sanderson(I think it will be part of The Rithmatist series--I don't have all the details yet) later this fall (Macmillan). And for the civil war buffs, a gorgeous story about journalist Sam Wilkeson and his son Bayard (Blackstone).
Hoohoo2 Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 So... Sorry to be off topic, but where would one find something such as fanfictions here?

Vogelsang he/him Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 No matter how hard I try the sequel's name keeps slipping my mind. It starts with an "A" right?
Vogelsang he/him Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 Awaiting 2017 State of the Sanderson, hopefully we're closer to the release of Rithmatist's sequel.

GiveMeASpren(I'mCrazy) Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 Don't you guys think that a book about chalkings (giant 2-dimensional line-based creatures) taking place in south america is obviously referring to Nazca lines? 2

Nalizar said some stuff that I want an explanation for. As it is, I don't think I'd be too disappointed if the focus switched to someone else.
