"Oh." Jane set down the branch, "Yeah, actually, that's fair."

She looked at him and back at the branch.

"But we could make you a stilt. Like a cast. For your sprains and broken bones. I can use some of the fabric from my clothes to tie it to your limbs and your shoulder blade, which will help you heal!"

“That could help, thank you. I really do appreciate everything you’re doing for me, I’m sorry if I’ve been…less than helpful, both physically and mentally.”

"I prefer the company."

Jane paused, "And it's not as if I've been the most helpful either lately," she said, laughing a little.

He smiled. “So what’s our plan?”

"Let's get you all wrapped up in the stilts and I'll go check out that house,"

“Alright.” He smiled at her. “Thank you.” He winced in pain.

Jane began using the axe to break off smaller slabs of bark are sturdy twigs that could be used for stiting and casting.

Aaron watched. He was still confused at why she was helping him, it would have been better for her to just leave him for another tribute to finish. But instead she stayed. Why?

"Alright there we go," Jane proudly presented her constructions.

She inspected his wounds.

"Let's start with your legs."

She carefully began bandaging the makeshift cast to his leg, holding the injuries in place.

He bit back a scream as she started, the pain overwhelming. Tears flowed down his face.

Jane stopped briefly, allowing for him to catch his breath.

"Are you okay?" she asked, concerned for his pain. She didn't want to hurt him. She didn't want to hurt anyone.

District Orodain

It turns out, living in a house with a 5 year old, and being 13 yrs old, and being responsible for the said 5 yr old, who was also depressed, from a recent event. Was really hard. Since cremating their mother less than a week ago. Douglas had to get another job, to help pay for stuff, such as clothes, food, and other essentials for his brother and himself. Some days that required doing some ... not so good stuff. Like petty theft here and there.

"I don't want to eat the bwoccoli" Aiden moaned. As he sat up at the table, pushing the food around his plate. A sad aura still hanging around him. "Storms" Douglas cursed under his breath. "Just eat the damn food" he wanted to yell at him. But he kept a serene air. Which he was sure did not fool his brother, as he said "Are you mad at me?" he said suddenly.

Rusting empathy

"I just want you to eat your food" Douglas says once again, bottling his emotions away. "If you do, i will teach you to some jobs" he says tauntingly. Normally, he was sure that kids his age did not want to work in peoples gardens, but however for some reason, his brother wanted to do it. His brother looks at him. "Really?"  Douglas nods, and his brother starts wolfing down his food.

Hunger Games Arena (North)

Douglas sits back against the rock wall. His breath slowing down to a normal rate. First ever fight, he thinks to himself. And first ever kill he glances at the body again. Making sure that it was well and truly dead. Still can't believe I did that he thinks to himself.

Goraning, he stands up. The chill from the wind, aching his bones, ignoring the wool blanket he had wrapped around his shoulders. He looks down into the other parts of the arena again. Noticing things he did not before with his sight. A village he thinks to himself, probably dangerous. He scans the area in an opposite loop, noticing holes in the ground matching one of the creatures from his journal. And a small group at the cornucopia. Well, Well, Well. Let's go meet them shall we.

He picks up his small pack, stuffing his few belongings in it, and climbing slowly down the mountain that dominated the North side of the arena.

We’re near the cornucopia, at the center of the arena.

“Yeah.”

Jane finished with his limbs and moved to his shoulders, lightly readjusting his position.

"Where did you grow up?"

"Did you know the names of your parents?"

“Yeah, I did. They died in the rebellion, I’m old enough to remember. Do you?”
