TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted September 19, 2014 Author Posted September 19, 2014 I would say Edge makes the most sense as the next Museum player. Voidgaze hasn't been given a chance to respond to Lightwards' ranting yet. I should definitely wait for the Voiduses in the shack, and I don't have anyone in Thoughttown at the moment. That could definitely work for me. Just let me know when, and I can start getting them onto the streets to meet her. Any specific ideas on how they might encounter her? (Aldo and Cricket may become instantly elevated to "Better Than Nighthound" status in Lightwards' hierarchy from this. ) Shall we revise the Scale of Epic Niceness™? Creepy McCreeperton (Nighthound) Unpleasant (Lightwards) and Despicable (Lucentia) Not Nighthound (Aldo and Cricket) Not Unpleasant (Flashpoint) Pleasant (Voidgaze) Funtastic (seriously? you haven't guessed by now?) 3

Kobold King he/him Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Shall we revise the Scale of Epic Niceness™? Creepy McCreeperton (Nighthound) Unpleasant (Lightwards) and Despicable (Lucentia) Not Nighthound (Aldo and Cricket) Not Unpleasant (Flashpoint) Pleasant (Voidgaze) Funtastic (seriously? you haven't guessed by now?) Precise enough to have come out of David's notebooks. Speaking of which: A good canon pony is like a purple pug. You know, because it's instantly recognizable...? They might notice the immense flood of rats trying to escape from the soon. Aldo in particular is likely to notice this. Shall we call it a plan? 4
Fatebreaker he/him Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Howdy Oregonians I have decided to send a few epics into the fray. I've never done any online role-playing before, so bear with me Twi suggested I submit my characters her for some awesome feedback, so here goes: Jackson Black, aka Fade: His power primary power is that he can control his existence. He can cease to exist physically, completely or partially. This means he is no longer affected by the laws of nature. He doesn't have a physical body, so he can't be killed when in this state. or he could make his hand incorporeal and reach through a wall. You can't affect him in any way in this state because he doesn't exist. If shot or injured in anyway, he instantly ceases to exist and can thus survive. In extreme circumstances he can exist purely as a thought. When nonexistent, he can fully heal, though this takes time. He can cause this to affect objects and organisms only if touching them with his bare hands. Passive power: Unless you are actively focus on him you will lose track of where he is or forget he is even there. He just fades into the scenery (ba-dum-tiiiiiiiiissssshhh). Also has accelerated healing to a degree. Weakness Pm'd Description: An Undertaker in his 70's, with salt and pepper hair that has become mostly salt. Tall and thin, yet in surprisingly good shape, he wares his formal undertaker suit which is black with a grey waistcoat and a top hat. Stern features and intense grey eyes, he's not generally described as friendly to say the least. Grew up as a street fighter, till he settled down and got away from that life. After his family was murdered by an Epic, whom he killed, he was left with his grandson who also turned out to be an epic. He trusts no one. Equipment: his old 1911 Colt and a pair of escrima sticks from his younger days. Always has a knife or two about him. and the second, Max Black, aka the Sandman: Primary: Can cause any vanilla or Epic to fall into a deep sleep within a 100 ft radius. he can put multiple people to a light sleep, or one individual into a deep sleep. While asleep they have incredibly vivid dreams which are manifestations of their subconscious. he can go into and control these dreams, making them either pleasant experiences or nightmares. While they are dreaming he can essentially search their minds, prompting them to reveal their thoughts, feelings, and memories. They will stay trapped in the dream until he releases them. Secondary: Teleportation and levitation. Can teleport up to two people other than himself. However, if he teleports others they may project parts of their subconscious that will be visible to the other person being teleported and to the Sandman. His levitation allows him to float slowly through the air and control his altitude, but he can only float at running speed. Passive: Everyone around hims feels drowsy and and sluggish, even those who don't need to sleep. Accelerated healing in a limited sense. Weakness: Pm'd Description: Grandson to Jackson Black, he's only 10 years old, with brown skin, wild curly hair, and his grandfathers grey eyes. he was a bright kid but always either daydreaming or getting up to mischief. He became on epic the day his family was murdered. He was scarred and lost track of reality. Sometimes confuses the real world with dreams and vice versa. He wears a grey hoodie with sleeves that are too long and black cargo pants and not a singe piece of footwear. Equipment: throwing knives They now travel around together, trying to avoid the petty struggles of epics. And they've recently arrived in Oregon. 5

I love those two Epics--they're sure to be fascinating additions to this epic tale (ba-dum-tiss... two can play at the pun game. ) Any idea on what factions you might be joining up with, if any? (I'm not hinting or anything, but the Empire of Light has dinosaurs. ) 3
Fatebreaker he/him Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Haven't decided yet, still trying to get a grip on the factions. Could I get a quick summary of them? One that includes members preferably.
Kobold King he/him Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Haven't decided yet, still trying to get a grip on the factions. Could I get a quick summary of them? One that includes members preferably. Sure thing. Check out the Epics of Oregon thread for a more complete run-down of characters, and be aware that I might forget an Epic or two. CorpseMaker's Gang is the most established, and arguably the most powerful at the moment. It's led by CorpseMaker, an immensely powerful High Epic who is invulnerable to all forms of damage and can kill with a glance. He has accumulated a large number of human forces, which are in turn led by his Epic lieutenants Toymaker, Electro, Freeze, and Mundivore. Toymaker can turn toys into fully realized versions of themselves, and has flushed CorpseMaker's armies with functional armies of giant robots. Electro and Freeze are standard electricity and frost Epics respectively, and Mundivore's sole power is an immunity to all harm. Thoughttown is another powerful faction headed by the illusionist/telekinetic Altermind. Thoughttown is so named for its policy of putting intelligence before all else, evicting any citizens that are incapable of passing strict IQ tests. Despite this, it covers a wide stretch of Portland and employs vast numbers of both human and Epic forces. Notable Epics in Altermind's service include Flashpoint, a flight/electricity Epic, Panacea, an obsessive-compulsive healer, and Sightline, a teleporter with a fondness for knives and a grudge against all other Epics. (There are quite a few more--Thoughttown's a pretty large and awesome group.) The most recent addition to the faction war is the Empire of Light, sometimes known as "The Wacko Brigade." It was established merely a couple of game-days ago, and thus has no human forces as of yet. However, it has already cemented itself as a powerful force, including within its ranks several powerful High Epics. It's 'leader' is a delusional necromancer named Lightwards, who is capable of resurrecting himself after a death. It also includes a matter-transforming Epic named Doctor Funtimes, who may be the single most powerful Epic in Oregon--and is also obsessed with fun and whimsy to the exclusion of all else. The Empire is based out of an old Museum of Natural History outfitted with anti-gravity generators and filled with reanimated zombies, and is known for harboring the most mentally unstable of Epics. 3
Fatebreaker he/him Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Reading the epic bios, I think Aldo the enigmatic sounds promising. Is he aligned with anyone yet?
Kobold King he/him Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Reading the epic bios, I think Aldo the enigmatic sounds promising. Is he aligned with anyone yet? He's working for the Empire of the Light at the moment, and is currently Lightwards' chief recruiter.
Mailliw73 he/him Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Well,I had a Pretty long post written up here and the I lost it. A basic summary: Flashpoint not being too much like an Epic, im claiming that he hasn't used his powers a lot recently. Nightmare has her dark moments. In Corpsemaker's group, there is also Streetwise, Upgrade, and Murphy. Check out their bios. Thought town consists of Altermind, Flashpoint, Psy-Fi(on hiatus), Kathy, Travis, Sightline, Voidgaze, and Big Al. Recent additions are Night-Mare, Panacea, and Strongsteel. Check out their bios as well. Chimera is an epic who can combine animals into new creations. He is a gifter and works by himself for now. He sells some creations to other Epics. He may end up joining the Black Fist, a rebellion beginning by my Human character, Max. 2
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted September 19, 2014 Author Posted September 19, 2014 Welcome Fatebreaker! Join whatever faction you like, but the Empire has dinosaurs AND Remington Springfield. That David pony is awesome. Guardians of the Galaxy is the best Marvel movie since Iron Man. 1
Mailliw73 he/him Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Fate breaker, Thoughttown is the obvious choice for you. The only area in Portland with stable electricity, water, and food supplies. A full, armed guard and policing force is ready to protect you. Equipped with many Epics, Thoughttown is a good choice for moving undertakers and children. There are hallucinations of many fun things that can be given to children. Little Max could enjoy a cotton candy land for real. Join Thoughttown today! Altermind wants YOU! 2
Kobold King he/him Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Welcome Fatebreaker! Join whatever faction you like, but the Empire has dinosaurs AND Remington Springfield. That David pony is awesome. Guardians of the Galaxy is the best Marvel movie since Iron Man. And potentially Remington Springfield riding dinosaurs. Thanks. You finally managed to see it? It really was an awesome movie--I haven't seen the first two Iron Man movies in a while, but Guardians of the Galaxy reigns firmly as my favorite Marvel movie at the moment. Do you have a favorite character? Fate breaker, Thoughttown is the obvious choice for you. The only area in Portland with stable electricity, water, and food supplies. He's an illusionist, and illusionists are well known to be deceivers! Join the Empire of Light--we have serene tropical rainforests, filled with undead dinosaurs waiting for your beck and call. We even have a professional stage magician who's performed in Newcago, Babylon Restored, and New New England! 2
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted September 19, 2014 Author Posted September 19, 2014 (edited) You finally managed to see it? It really was an awesome movie--I haven't seen the first two Iron Man movies in a while, but Guardians of the Galaxy reigns firmly as my favorite Marvel movie at the moment. Do you have a favorite character? Favorite character? I think I'll have to go with….yes. Seriously, I can't pick. Each character added something unique and essential to the story, so it's impossible to pick one as a favorite. Mostly, I just want to see the Guardians team up with everyone in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Avengers? Yes. Spiderman? Of course! Deadpool? The awesomeness just might cause every theater in America to explode. Provided I survived, I would see it twice. Edit: Also, Thoughttown is the worst place to find Cotton Candy Land. Once Altermind decides it's time to ruin little Max's childhood, the cotton candy will disappear. In the Empire, Doctor Funtimes can make a real Cotton Candy Land. She'll probably even add peppermint stick trees and saltwater taffy vines. Edited September 19, 2014 by TwiLyghtSansSparkles 2
Fatebreaker he/him Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 wow, this feels just like the introduction threads, except that no one's offered me baked goods. while imaginary cotton candy sounds great, dinosaurs are a huge selling point. We'll have to see. 2

We can call it a plan, and maybe even have Aldo pick up Fade and Sandman on the same trip, if MoNA is their destination. Mundivore could find them if they want to join Corpsemaker. Currently Mundivore is just riding around the city, ready to be written in at any moment! 1

Kobold, when was Backtrack going to meet the Wackos? Quota still needs to be introduced and begin the glorious revolution against his tyranny. Mundivore seems to be in a good position to meet him, and I was planning to keep Quota somewhat distanced from the Empire until the war begins in earnest.

I could probably have him meet the Momentum Twins next time I post, and he'll meet Aldo very soon afterwards. Then once Aldo and Cricket complete their busy day of recruiting Epics, Lightwards can send him on his first mission. (Sam was going to be the first target, but if you want to introduce Quota now, Remington can make a snarky comment and get bumped up in priority. )

I was planning on having him stay in the background, make him more of a merc than have him join any one faction, but I thought having Mundivore meet Quota would give him a way to try and get on CorpseMaker's good side, but if it messed with anyone's plans, I'll hold off. Kobold King he/him Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 I was waiting for Backtrack to burst in before posting, but I can go in the shack if you want Kobold. That would make sense. I think it's best if the shack negotiations reach full closure before an Epic with awesome pink sunglasses barges in. Although I'm currently working on a Quota pony. Looking forward to it. (Is his cutie mark the downvote symbol? )

Kobold King he/him Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Um…. How did you know? You are forgetting that you are not the only Ponysmith here. I too know the tricks of the trade. He looks pretty awesome, in a morbidly depressing kind of way. I think my quality of life went down by at least 3 ice cream bars just by looking at him... in a good way, of course. Any chance of seeing a bio for him soon? 4
