TAAron waited anxiously, still aware of her mentally through the connection. Should I cut that? No, it's not really using my powers, it was just set with them. Lerac cleared his throat. "Hey, TAAron. If it does happen..." "What?" "I was going to say it'll be all right, but that feels like lying. It might not be. Death says that the most important thing for an immortal to have is purpose. Mortals kind of have an innate one, which is to live. And they are driven by limits on time. As an immortal, it's easy to just... drift, for millennia." TAAron stared at him, still barely able to comprehend that this kind of conversation might become very important to him very soon. "And don't be too afraid to get attached. It's better to grieve than to feel nothing. It won't get easier to lose people, but you'll get better at getting better. Also don't try to make nothing you care about change. It's not possible, and it'll drive you insane." TAAron was more afraid than ever, having to actually think about the practicalities of living forever. "I could always just... end it. Right?" Quote Haly can't hear their conversation or anything, but she can feel his fear and get a vibe.

The Aspiring Archivist any pronouns Posted January 2, 2025 Posted January 2, 2025 Lerac shook his head. "Don't go into it thinking that. It's true, but there are ways to get through things that seem impossible at first. You could do a lot of good. Immortality is an opportunity, though a burdensome one." TAAron felt a bit of comfort at the idea, but he couldn't stop thinking about Haly. He would stay young while she got older. He might be pulled away from her by whatever godly nature, or stop caring about her the way he did now, even though that felt unimaginable to him. She might just leave him entirely, and he wouldn't blame her. It was unthinkable, impossible. "I hope you're wrong, Lerac." His voice came out strained and hoarse, and he realized he was on the verge of tears. He let them flow. "Me, too."

Trevor fell through the floor and back onto his feet. He was in a dark hallway. A golden glowing circle of light shone on the floor beneath his feet, shifting with his steps. The walls were lined with doors of various colors, designs, and shapes, and tiny blue glowing motes floated in the air above his head. Vey and Haly followed, likely a long with Aora @Through The Living Glass.
