The room had gray walls and a white ceiling. It was sparely furnished; there was a bed in the furthest corner, a black beanbag in the other, and an empty wooden bookshelf between them. A very tiny cooking area stood off to her left, and there was a door that opened into a small bathroom to her right.

Aora thought it felt very cozy.

Trevor stayed behind the front desk.

She turned halfway. “You’re sure?”

He looked up at that, meeting her eyes briefly before looking away again. He kept his expression carefully controlled and nodded, not trusting his voice to be convincing. His chest felt tense, and he realized he wasn't breathing. How long since I stopped?

“Okay, then…” She looked slightly down and continued leaving.

She could feel that his odd, self-contradicting aura had grown stronger, the disorientation feeling almost nauseating.

She started feeling dizzy and used the wall as a support.

Seeing her reaction, he quickly got a hold on it and focused on muting his aura.

You're really drawing this out.

He continued to hold in the energy to keep it from affecting her again, feeling a painful tension from the effort of focusing on that and trying to keep emotion out of his face and posture.

Well, she can choose to stay, maybe because she notices he doesn't really seem that well, or because she wants someone to talk to, or whatever. He didn't tell her to leave, just that he's fine.

Sure. Imma reconstruct the scene as best as possible. Dragonheir and Calamity are here too.

Dragon is the one with the guns next to him, and Calamity is the one with the knife.

(Neither of them are bad. The two dressed similarly were going to kill/maim my Main Character, and they are protecting him)

Just down the hall, you can see a man in a chokehold with a knife to his throat, and another man with two guns at his feet. A fourth man stands relatively far, unarmed but dressed like the man in the chokehold. A fifth is cowering.
