"No, it isn't. This is the Insanity Clinic."

"Clinic? Like the healer's tent? I've never seen a structure so expensive."

Clay yawns, and asks "is there somewhere I could get some sleep?

He took a shaky breath. "Yep. Yep. Stopping."

She held his hand.

“I can get you a room key.”

Clay knew now that nothing here was like back home, so he didn't comment on how strange it was that he got his own room. The bed was softer than anything he'd ever felt, and he fell asleep quickly.

What he didn't expect were the dreams. He was back in the basement, across the room from the map. The map showed his home, desert with impassable mountains on one side and a violent ocean on the other.

Black smoke began to drift out from behind the map, forming grasping tendrils. They twisted towards Clay, and pulled him towards the map. He tried to run, but right before he could, he woke up, back in the basement with the map.

“Guys. What’s wrong?”

“Did someone take your fingers?”

Par stepped up to them, grabbed their hands one by one and inspected them for missing fingers.

“Please don’t.”

It finally broke out of him. He began sobbing onto her.

She hugged him tighter, saying nothing.

“Do you have any money?”

Clay rummages through his pockets, and pulls out some coins Par had never seen before.

"Like this?"

Par brightens. “Cooooool! Is it free?” He asks this worriedly. He proffers the missing finger. “The person who took this told me nothing is free, but I think he’s beginning to be wrong.”

He looks up at the new voice. “HI! I’m Par.”

“Hello. My name is Veer.” Veer is a relatively average man, and seems to be ignoring you as he talks. He absentmindedly scratches his shoulder, which has some sort of prismatically shining rash on it. It’s not glowing, but it sparkles rainbow colors in the light.

Veer continues wandering the clinic. There are not many people about; perhaps another floor would be a better place to look for things to do. He walks down a very long flight of stairs into a basement. “Hello?” he calls out. @SpiritOfWrath @Calamity_Engine

"I have no use for it anymore." Clay tosses a small pouch full of them to Par.

"That's an interesting rash, Veer. I might have some balm for it. He pulls a pouch out of a pocket on his shirt.

"I'm Clay, by the way."

Par takes it and pockets it. “I have MONEY now. They can’t take no more of my fingers!”
