"Yeah, do you think that's what caused the grayness?"

She glanced up at the ceiling. "Yeah. I think so. It'll go away soon, probably. You don't need to keep the connection." The color was returning to her face, and her hair seemed happier.

Par looked at her, wide eyed once again. “They can’t?” He grinned and took her hand to shake it. “I’m PAR!”

“Careful!” She pulled her hand back and adjusted her grip on the urn she was holding. Once it was secure, she shook his hand. “Aventine.”

“Wow! I’ve never known anyone with a name longer than a syllable! But… maybe because I’ve never known anyone…”

He looked unsure. "I think I should keep it."

"But I don't want it to hurt you."

“I don’t know what that is, but do whatever.”

"Do... Whatever?" Clay slowly walks out the door, never taking his eyes off of Trevor until he's a few yards from him, then sprints to where he thinks is the exit, but promptly gets lost, since he's in a different place then where he came in.

“You alright there?”

Par gasped. “Do you mean a sickness is making people forget their friends?”

“No. Someone else just hadn’t ever heard a name like mine.”

"I don't want you to get hurt either. If the connection helps you feel normal, I can leave it. I'll be okay."

"No. I shouldn't get reliant on it."

“Who?” He suddenly looked around and started shaking. “Are they coming for me?”

“No. He was looking for a bird, which he found.”

Just now, Calamity_Engine said:

"Uh... I seem to have misplaced the exit"

“It’s over that way. You’re free to leave, of course, but from what I’ve seen I’m not sure that’s the wisest choice.”

He promptly fell unconscious with shock.

"I just need to get back to the Desert. The Living God has told me to do this, that is the wise choice."

For context, the map contains a pocket dimension, and touching the globe brought Clay out of it. The globe he grabbed after is just a normal plastic globe.

He looked at her worriedly. "If I take away the connection, then we'll need to figure out how to fix whatever's going on quickly. You were only disconnected for minutes, so we don't know how bad it could get."

"I'l be fine once I recover," she insisted. "It's not like this is a disease."

She frowned. "Why... why wouldn't I?"
