She held up a finger and tucked Lukas into her bed. She wrapped his arms around his puppy. She stepped into her closet, and after a few moments stepped back out wearing a dress that went to her knees. It was white above the waist and the skirt was yellow. Leather sandals were on her feet, and her hair was up fancily. 

She walked over to Pic and put her arm in his.

The world shifted, bending and stretching, then reforming in an unfamiliar landscape. A small escort was waiting on the other side of the portal. "Thank you." One of the people in the group said. She had a voice that sounded commanding, "You may return to the homeland."

Pics eyebrows shot up when he saw her in the outfit, and he took her arm. After softly closing Lukas’ door, he led her out into the courtyard of the Clinic. 

“You know, I think this is the first time I’ve done this with you,” Pic hummed.

Her hand stiffened for a split second out of habit before relaxing into his. “I’d tell you, but I don’t know a lot myself. Most things I did, I was forced to do. I like reading, though.”
