Lerac will probably have an outburst of energy soon, but considering who he is and that she's talking about a dead person... Maybe he could briefly connect with what's left of her fiancé?

Could be fun

Right, so the decay of a soul in Death's domain is somewhat analogous to a soul going to the Beyond in the cognitive realm, it takes longer with more Investiture or other magic. And they get much more time under Death (i.e. seconds for a normal mortal in CR but weeks with Death). And in both cases the decay doesn't happen all at once or even completely, but more asymptotically (like the stretching to infinity with the Beyond). So if anything, there would be little left of him. But maybe enough to have a familiar few words to say.

Up to you. If you'd rather not do it that's fine.

I still don't get the smirk...

Well, anyway, it's up to you what he might say. Probably in response to what she said, and just a few words or a phrase at most

Lerac shuddered, and a faint blue glow appeared in his eyes. "They're beautiful tonight. I wish you could see them." Lerac spoke, except it wasn't his voice. It was her fiancé's.

She looked at him in bewilderment. "Wh... Alston...?"

Here you go, I'll be nice.

"I love you, my dearest."

Then the light was gone. Lerac blinked, confused.

She shook her head, blinking back tears. “No, it’s… it’s okay.”

Lerac didn't know what to say, so he didn't say anything. He felt tension rising in him again.

Lerac went visibly tense. "Aventine, you should go, I-" He inhaled sharply.

Aventine felt the wave of his strange aura again, much stronger this time. It felt like the warmth she felt when he healed her and the cold she had felt from the dagger, both at once, clashing, disorienting, nauseating.
