Jar Man sucked in a breath of fire, then threw blew out while throwing a powder for a powerful drug.

Addison fell. She didn’t care. She felt something in her legs snap, but no pain. She was beyond pain. Her skin bubbled, she couldn’t feel that either. She struggled to stand, then began walking towards Tal again. She reached out, touching  his shoulder.

Pic crumpled to the floor after the collapse, and had the wind knocked out of him. He tried to vocalise to support himself, but it was not enough. No song came out of his lungs, only painful wheezing and coughs that wracked his body. Pic could barely take it. After a few moments, he simply passed out. His loops flickered and died, and the fire crept ever closer to him.

Her wings would have burned up if she released them. So, she activated one of the abilities she had accidentally gotten from her friend. She floated in the air as if in a tank of water.

In some part of her, Akarui knew that this was the man Aventine was in love with. She moved through the air over to him and grabbed him. While she was strong, this was something that was harder for her to handle.

Another invisible feather sprang out from another pocket of her coat that went to mid-shin. It crept under his shirt and pulled him away from the conflict, on his back in the entryway near Lundyn.

He turned. “Terribly sorry,” he murmured, eyes closed, “but I’ll have to destroy you later…my host is unfortunately stubborn…” Then Tal’s eyes snapped open. He gasped.

"I'm going to need you to go into detail for me. What in the McDonald's ball pit is going on here? Why did you just go ballistic?" The voice sounded like Aventine's, but firmer and more confident. Not unkind, though.

"Okay." She made herself visible. She pushed the fire away from herself a ways, enough to release her wings, which spanned more than her height. With a powerful beat, she generated a wind that put out a decent chunk of the nearby fire.

She got to work, still not feeling any pain. She pulled people from the fire, knowing others would be more effective at putting the fires out. She was determined to stay near Tal after this. He’s all but promised to kill her eventually.
