Tal shook his head.

He opened his mouth, and then his eyes widened and he snapped it shut, shaking his head vigorously.

Jar Man looks at Tal. Then he writes out on a piece of paper, "Are you ok?"

Her eyebrows furrowed. "I'll be right back," she said, and left to the storage area.

Tal writes an unfamiliar character. He looks at it, then blinks. I haven’t seen that language in years…what are you doing to me?

It’s a reminder. You don’t get to forget who you are.

Who I am, or who you are?

Who we are.

Under the character, Tal writes “no”.

Tal shrugs. Slowly, his face starts to look less afraid and more cool, more…calculating.

Aventine found what she was looking for: two vials of metal. One of only brass, the other of mixed metals. She swallowed the isolated brass before returning to the others.

Addison decided she’d ask Tal about why he’d put himself in that room later. She didn’t think surrounding him with people was a good idea.

“Do you want to leave?” she whispered to him. “Get away from everyone?”

“I should have left years ago,” Tal said coolly. “Actually, I never should have come here.”

"Who are you?" Jar Man writes.

“Tal’in.” His voice remained cool and unfeeling.

What emotions would he be feeling strongest right now?

Lots and lots and lots of anger, almost as much fear, and a strange sort of desperate hunger.

Tal shrugged slowly, his face not changing.

None of it would be hard, but probably anger and fear.

Ooooh that was the wrong choice bravo!

For a moment, the fear spiked...then it completely disappeared. Tal grinned, and a small fire appeared in his palm. "Thank you, stranger," he said to Aventine. His voice was his, and yet it wasn't. It was too cruel. "It's been so long...mm..." Then he disappeared.

Clinic, 8th floor:

Tal was walking through the corridor. Fire and screams followed him. His grin was wide and unnatural...and full of utter bliss.

Wrong for the characters, right for us!

Shock struck her eyes.

Fail.

If she hadn't already been on her knees, she would have fallen on them.

She just shook her head slowly.

When you get involved, things just get worse.

Tears began to form in her eyes.

Addison stepped over to her. “What just happened?”
