"The only one we've managed to kill had his head cut off," she called. One of the inquisitors moved forward, inhumanely fast, and slashed at Melody with the daggers. 

The other moved toward TAAron with a long wooden pole, looking wary.

"You can decapitate them, or remove a specific spike in their upper back." TAAron tried to face the Inquisitor with confidence, but he was clearly exhausted.

[Through the Living Hope]

The group of DGs (and Exol @Exotic Almond) made their way towards Keep Elariel. DG Pic led the way, followed by the Exols. DG TAAron and DG Aventine took up the rear. They avoided the attention of the skaa and nobility. 

When they arrived at the keep, the guards were still unconscious, but they were beginning to stir. DG TAAron waved them in, and they hurried into the keep.

They found the chamber Melody had taken to the basement and followed it. At the splits, DG TAAron told DG Pic to use his music to try to find the others.

DG Pic began to hum, and light fell down both chambers

Pic had been humming, trying to keep people awake and focused during this fight. He had followed the group and fended off minor guards who had been facing him. However, he felt something yank on his soul. It was as if something else was drawing his music towards.... something. Unknowingly, he began to imitate some of DGP's hum. His humming became more precise rather than the grand speed it was. His loop dismissed, he started a melody anew. 

DGP also felt this pull, and his humming became a little more grandiose and sweeping. A call-and-response melody was being communicated between the two, but neither side heard the other until they approached each other. A glow burst around them both, light pooling around them both, as they stared at each other, music still emanating from each other.

Both Pics slowly drew their staves in the air and looped the call and response. "How?" Pic whispered.

"I haven't the faintest idea....", DGP stated. Both simply stared at each other as the rest arrived.

Melody moved out of the way, and shouted back to Rue, "Do you have any weapons with you?"

She was still burning bronze, and she could still hear the Inquisitors. They... Scared her.

Music and light floated in from the hallway, giving them both a supernatural sense of resolve.

The song continued. While Pic covered the bassline and drums, DG Pic covered keys and guitar. While the lower part strengthened their resolve, the higher part seemed to strengthen their magic.

After vocalizing parts of the song that mimicked these instruments, both of them set it in loop. Pic turned inward and hummed a high and fast descent and looped it on a second stave. He felt himself grow faster, but DG pics music adapted to his music, just as his music adapted to everyone else. Pic breathed in and felt more than the ability to run. He felt as if he could soar. 
 

Pic began to run towards the inquisitors, leaping into the air and seeming to walk on nothing. He hummed  quick descent, and his sword appeared. DGPs song instinctively shifted, and the sword burst aflame right as the first strike landed.

DG Aventine stayed behind, rolling her own lerasium in her hand. She had not yet committed to burning it.

DG Exol prepared to throw a bomb - one that could set off a magnetic pulse and, he hoped, remove the Inquisitors' spikes. @Exotic Almond

DG TAAron met his other self's eyes and nodded in reassurance. He activated his magic and prepared to face the Inquisitors.
