sorry I was distracted by anime

Cloud did a quick scan of the shadows in the area. The Sith would pop out any minute, and blocking would be harder now that he had 2 blades.

"I guess we don't have time to run and get giant flashlights to shine everywhere," he mumbled.

Sensing the Sith was probably a bust, if he was really in all the shadows, there'd be no predicting which direction he'd come from.

5 minutes, he needed to stall for just 5 minutes. Time to play the only card he had.

"Hey Sith guy, you don't happen to have one of those red pyramid things do you?"

Krarik would probably just ignore him, but it was worth a shot.

Reelwiron glances at Cloud, wait you know about the holocrons?, and how did you know about them, still keeping his lightsaber at the ready

The holocrons, eh?

Krarik snapped into existence just behind Cloud, lightsaber swinging for his head.

"Perhaps."

Reelwiron keeps his blade up, and tries to block the other lightsaber, and as it passes his, he jumps out of the way of the lightsaber, and activates the other side of his lightsaber, which although made the blade less powerful, was a sacrifice to blocking attacks easier.

Yes,

his saberstaff runs of the one crystal, so the saberstaff has less power as a trade off for more blocking much like Jedi Fallen Order

The first blade found itself knocked aside, and the second soon after - but Krarik followed through with a twist, bringing them both up once again from beneath. The speed was uncanny as he subtly fed the attack some extra momentum with the Force; nothing fancy yet, but it served as a warning to what this saberwhip's true potential would be.

Reelwiron stunned by the ferocity of the attack, fell back, trying to stop being split down the middle, using the force to empower his muscles to help give power to block and to jump away.

Rajib jumps to stab Krarik from behind.

The first strike fell short of Reelwiron, but the second veered off its former trajectory as Krarik jerked the beam aside, snapping against Rajib's blade; he twisted around once again, now sending a pair of whirling blades straight for Rajib's head.

Rajib felt the lightsabers fly towards then a second before they did, and ducked soon enough. One did hit their arm, wounding them, and Rajib crawled off.

It was working. The sith had come out of hiding and engaged them. It had to last long enough though.

"Holo . . . cron."

Cloud pulled Her Soul out of his pocket. He thought it might come in handy today somehow.

"Is that what this thing is called?"

He hoped the older jedi could be okay, for now he just needed to distract Krarik.

That's one...Krarik fell once again into the mists, choosing his next target.

And then that strange one procured an honest-to-whils Holocron - from his pocket.

...Well well.

Ah, what a wonderful turn of events. So few of these children would understand the power this thing could invoke - just another gadget, they might assume. Not even the one called Cloud seemed to know its true purpose, yet he had kept it for who knows how long. The secrets and lore from hundreds of years - maybe thousands - all condensed into a crystal small enough to fit in one hand. Even himself, he suspected, would find himself thoroughly enlightened by what knowledge it might contain. Perhaps these Jedi fools could at least deduce its purpose, but to comprehend it would be another story.

But one of them did. They knew full well what it was.

I suppose I could spare a few of your favorites, little Padawan, Krarik said, if you surrender it peacefully. Many others of my clan would be inclined to ask your loyalty, but... well, I'm not quite the teaching type.

Cloud's heart thundered in his chest. This was a dangerous game.

How many minutes had passed? He was counting on his friend's to attack the Sith when the sun eliminated the shadows. He just needed a little longer.

"First of all bud, not a padawan."

He lifted the soul up, inspecting it in the sunlit.

"This must be pretty important huh?"

Agreeing or disagreeing to Krarik's deal would end the distraction. He needed to stretch this out, even it was risky.

Cloud Pushed against the pyramid with his magic. He had opened the Soul once before, maybe doing so again would distract the Sith, and waste more time. Heck, maybe Feisydd would be able to use some of the information inside.

He continued pushing, pulling power from the darkest parts of his soul. Using anger he hadn't used in a long time.

I knew you'd come back, She whispered. He ignored her.

The pyramid levitated out of his hand and popped open, it's corners releasing and floating outward. It projected pictures of bright red light; symbols and writing he didn't understand.

Cloud knew he was doing something stupid, but it was better then nothing.

"Are these important secrets?"

He pulled his blaster out of his belt and sighted it on Her Soul.

"How badly do you want them?"

Krarik appeared for half a moment - just behind Nayla. She spun around to defend, but no attack came; instead, his hand grabbed her by the shoulder. She vanished, immediately after, along with the Sith.

Feisyyd expanded her Truesight, but was already (nearly) entirely certain where he’d reappear.

And indeed, the assassin whistled back into existence right in front of Cloud. One hand grasped Nayla in a tight grip just beneath the collarbone; save for a pair of two fingers that pinched his lightsaber, the blade pressed centimeters from her face. The other blade held on its own, barely even quivering from the Forcehold.

Krarik’s free hand was extended out, palm open to Cloud.

”Depends,” he replied, “on how much you don’t.”

Stupid indeed, he should have seen that coming.

Just a few more minutes and then they could descend upon the Sith. But first he needed to get Nayli out of immediate danger. He glanced between Nayli and the Holocron, pretending to think. He couldn't stall here forever though, he doubted Krarik was a patient man.

The Sith's attention was focused on Cloud.

Come on, He thought, I have him distracted, someone attack from behind.

After a tense moment, he lowered the blaster. He didn't want Nayli to get hurt. The Soul snapped shut, and fell into Clouds open palm.

Another few seconds.

Come on.

"I . . ."

Another few seconds. He looked over the Holocron, pretending to hesitate.

Somebody attack now!

Reelwiron, sensing an opportunity, flips his lightsaber back into single blade, and launches it towards the sith, right at his exposed back, giving it an extra push as it left his hand.

He made approximately thirteen decisions in that exact instant.

Krarik was well aware of Cloud's intent to stall - he'd practically explained to them how that was their only option. The holocron became a secondary objective, meaning while its acquisition would be beneficial, he elected to sacrifice it if necessary.

Reelwiron attacked from behind, putting an impressive burst of strength into it. His intent matched Cloud's with an almost remarkable aptitude; whether they had truly attuned to one anothers' Presence, or just by sheer luck, the timing was excellent. But intent was still intent, and distance was something these Jedi had yet to conquer. Their pace was sluggish compared to the true potential that the Force offered.

Funnily enough, it was the one called Master Feisyyd who picked up on the gambit a moment too slow. Krarik's blade had already flipped into motion before she heaved a powerful Force Push against him, which ultimately saved the child: Nayla was wrested from his grasp, but he still felt the beam slash against her face somewhere. Her scream meant it was far from superficial, but she was still very much alive.

The second blade whipped up around it; not to deflect Reelwiron's strike, but to send a full offensive counterattack. If the Jedi wanted to land that attack, he'd have to take one of his own.

Krarik's hand tensed, and Forced the holocron from Cloud's grasp, sending it into his own. Master Feisyyd came through to clear the gap moments after, eyes flickering between her writhing padawan and the dark red crystal. Very good... her attention was becoming more divided by the second.

Nayla shrieked as the most piercing, burning, agonizing pain she'd ever felt slashed through her cheek and up almost to her eye. Both hands leapt to the wound; she stumbled, tripped, fell to the ground, and began to alternate between hissing through grit teeth and failing to hold back gutteral cries of pain. Every muscle tensed, and sweat rolled.

Feisyyd darted in, but no decision came. Support Cloud, save Reelwiron, defend Nayla, retrieve the holocron... she only had two blades, and neither seemed to pay the Assassin any vexation. To accomplish every goal at once, she'd simply have to kill him - but was that even possible? How much longer until the sun peaked? How much longer until he'd killed everyone else?

It occurred to her that they couldn't afford to defend any longer. Perhaps, to survive, some of them would have to die.

It wasn't perfect, but a better outcome then many he'd imagined.

Cloud immediately moved to Nayli. There was no need to worry about the Holocron, they would get it back if they could defeat Krarik, which was the goal here.

"I've got her Feisydd, focus on Krarik."

He kneeled beside his friend, and reached out with the force. He gently put a hand on her face, trying to avoid touching the wound itself.

Cloud had never healed someone with his magic before, but he tried anyway, focusing best he could. And maybe it was just his imagination but the cut did look like it was closing. Slowly, but still.

Nayla had crumpled into a ball, shivering now. She tried to say something, but couldn't; instead, she remained as still as she could, completely relying on everyone else now.

Master Feisyyd's first attack struck nothing, as Krarik vanished once again into the mists. He'd been standing still, but almost instantaneously returned to full speed as he exited just behind her from a pillar's shadow. She twisted on her heel and struck with both sabers, each meeting one of his own as they swung through the air.

Not a moment could be spared in the following seconds. Krarik went in and out of his Shadow Step in rapid succession, weaving strike after strike from every direction, always vanishing before she could find the opportunity to strike back. Her senses and Perception expanded to something of a sphere of influence, giving her just enough time to deflect each attack; he was relentless, leaving dozens of opportunities to finally finish her off.

The flashes of green, white, red, and black were nearly indistinguishable. It looked more akin to a flurry of lights than a duel between Force-wielders.
