The [period was serving as a punctuation to complete a sentence, but then my five words were an afterthought added on in addition to the end of that sentence, hence capitalized, as one would see in speech or narration. Like if one were to say "It ended. For now." that would imply a different spoken meaning/inflection than "It ended, for now."] deities smote
