Anyway, he is more or less the product of collective imagination become conscious, except the idea of Perception magic makes that a bit more stable, and capable with enough concentration of temporarily creating things or forces that are "real." Of course, it really isn't as simple as an on/off switch between doing something fake or real, but the point is that at his most basic he exits the collective perception as something with any sort of presence that can be contained.

This is hard to explain.

Anyway, the reason I'm fighting this is because I don't see much harm being done by Variance not being contained by this. He's not going to do anything for now, because that would probably ruin all of this for them. He has a limited ability of things he can do anyway, even when completely loose.

I don't want to be involved in anything where I'm constantly being badgered to make stuff that everyone tears to pieces automatically. It's bad enough that I get fifty thousand notifs an hour, and it's bad enough that even when I do write a post it's immediately "you're wrong" - let alone both.

So I'm not having fun, so I shouldn't be participating.

Aeoliae, argumentation is not immaturity. We clearly just have different ideas about how the internal logic of certain weird concepts like perception and existence, and that's understandable. We were both trying to make points about how the two systems should overlap when they really can't, not too well. I think a main difference is that Fadran sees that all phenomena must have a some sort of tangible or at least interfaceable influence. I don't entirely agree. I was, admittedly, bothered by the full shutdown, and I'm sorry for being harsh about that.

Fadran, how about we just conclude this argument, which honestly probably will not and cannot go anywhere because of philosophical opposition. That was why I was kind of trying to move it to be more about plot implications so we could make a decision based on that instead of trying to come to a conclusion for the internal logic. It was shortsighted of me to keep badgering you about that, and I'll try to avoid doing so from now on. If you really think the restraints need to work on Variance for the sake of the plot, then I can agree to that.

About the notifications, I'll do my best to refrain from that. I often use them jokingly, but I can see how that could get frustrating.

I told you guys to stop once, and you people didn't listen, so I was forced to use harsher language. 

Additionally, if you aren't happy with people finding holes in your writing, then you must tell them about that. You can't get mad at a person for an unexplained reason, even if you're right.

I did not call you a bickering 7 year old. I compared you to one. More of a byproduct of having to deal with annoying kids 6 hours every day but yeah.

And I definitely don't think that any of you have been intentionally trying to bother me with any of this, but my depression's going off the whack, my anxiety's decided to kick in again, and I'm just really stressed in general. Storytelling is my favorite thing, and I get really into my ideas and methods - and if they're interrupted, it can be really bad for all that above stuff. I recognize that that's probably a bad condition when it comes to RPing, but... well, that's just how I am.

We can give this another shot tomorrow, or whenever you feel rested and ready enough to continue. I'll try to be less confrontational about underlying mechanics and such. We're all different people with different ideas trying to tell one story. We can't reach a consensus on every minute detail.

so we're going to say this was my fault, because I'm the one who escalated the situation. I still feel pretty repressed and stressed and quite depressed (hehe assonance), and I'm still not exactly happy with how things are going, but... well. Obviously I should've kept my cool. Admiral Kalin was, for all intents and purposes, a human.

The proper term would be "humanoid," though the essential dependency made it nigh-on impossible to effectively translate into anything other than Earthling. Basically, he was bipedal with two arms, a single head, ten fingers, two eyes, and dark brown hair. Two meters tall, exactly - in Beorin standards, anyway. He wore a dark black uniform bedazzled with too many medals and honorifics to count, each gleaming with contrasting colors to make the starkness of the uniform pretty much obsolete.

There were exactly two reasons he wanted to see these newcomers, though he hadn't divulged either yet.
