1) not by any official recognition, though some of his most devoted fans treat him as such. so he can be considered a sect.

2) technically you don't, but if you never read anything before in your whole life, you are unlikely to be proficient enough to read mistborn

3) there is only one brandon sanderson, so the answer is clear. what is not clear is how you intend to try and read a person in the first place.

4) yes. the metal has been released and it didn't come back, that's why it's lost.
