Edgedancer he/him Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 (edited) Saccharine and PP. Funtimes and Nathan. Voidgaze and Big Al. The shipping becomes a weapon. If worst comes to worst I can still unleash... it. Voidus you´re right. What about Candytimes and all the others... you also didn´t ship Aldo and Cricket... to obvious? Kobold King he/him Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Speaking of we've got plenty of new characters and they still haven't been shipped yet? Where's the Panwards, Strongtimes and Chimare? Aldo, Cricket, Sam... the list of unshipped characters goes on and on. Here's a Night-Mare pony! She'll probably end up getting a new cutie mark once I find a usable icon. 3
Voidus Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Soulswitch, refill, zip, toymaker, now that I think about it our resident shipmistress is really behind.

What about Candytimes and all the others... you also didn´t ship Aldo and Cricket... to obvious? All in good time. The shipping must not be rushed. (Also, one of my profs seems to think assigning a 34-page article and a 48-page article to read and discuss in the same week is a reasonable workload, so the soonest you'll probably see the shiny new characters shipped is Friday.) Kobold King he/him Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Darn profs! They need to realize that shipping is far more important! You have my sympathies though. Wait. Twi, does your college professor wear a coat with a bullet hole in it and a bright green bowler hat? If so, there might be a reason he doesn't want you to have enough shipping time. (You have my sympathies.) 2

(You have my sympathies.) o.0 0.o 0.0 Actually, I've only met a few of my profs face-to-face, since I'm taking online classes. And unless Professor Cardinal decided to randomly switch from teaching biology to grad-school information resources and library science, then I think I'm safe. Unless he had a midlife crisis and decided to try something new…. No, no, I'm safe. I'm okay. I will not consider the alternative. Nice way to end the fight, Edge, although I was starting to look forward to having Funtimes take Team Funacid to the MoNA, turn to Lightwards, and leave them there with a breathless "Keep them safe—can't explain—hurt them and it's acid-acid time!" before taking Nathan to find Nighthound. 2
Voidus Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 My bet would be on someone calling him a leprechaun and being turned into a zombie withing 3 minutes tops. 1

You should be safe, then. There aren't enough dinosaurs in library science. Such a shame. I could have done a lot with that scene too. I just had a moment of Fridge Horror. Lightwards is a gifter, right? His necromancy is actually just him gifting his resurrection ability. Gifting doesn't have the same mental effect as other powers. So all of Lightwards' atrocities weren't done because of Calamity's corruption. He was acting under his own free will. 3
Voidus Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I figured that his control over them was separate and that's why he's corrupted.

Just to be safe, never agree if your professor wants you to meet his associates. I wonder how Funtimes would have reacted to seeing Candyflames garden or learning that Voidgaze is still alive. Talking about Nathan and Nighthound meeting, he does have some suspicions on Nathan´s Epicness and testing doesn´t take him all that much effort, so we should think of a way to deal with that in due times. I say we nuke the entire site guy from orbit. It's the only way to be sure. …. Or, to avoid countless deaths from radiation burns, there's always Remington Springfield. 1
Kobold King he/him Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 He does still have the mind-control, so don´t worry. See, that's debatable... does Lightwards have a mind control ability that only works on people he's gifted to, or does his gifting simply affect the target's mind in an adverse manner? Faultline's gifting, for example, drove the subjects insane. Who's to say another Epic's gifting couldn't suppress the target's mind? Seriously, who's to say? Because Lightwards' powers confuse me every time I think too hard about them.

The warriors on the other hand only use the power for one small moment and the effect on their mind is based on which orders they get not how long ago did they use how much power.

Controlling the gifted individuals must be part of his power, however--and thus has a corrupting effect. I understand what his power is and the effects it has... it's just that trying to fit it into the official framework can be tricky sometimes.

If he tries anything like turning him into a hound (which I suspect) I foresee Funtimes dropping Nighthound off the edge of the MoNA, then locking him in a cage and performing "experiments" to figure out what can kill him.

So if Nighthound got Nathan in a situation where he could kill him with not much more than a thought and a couple of seconds, Funtimes first reaction would be to attack Nighthound? Not that I disagree with the sentiment but that seems a tick risky.

Kobold King he/him Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I made a few minor Epics that are up for adoption. Blockhead: Capable of mentally controlling any Lego blocks within his immediate vicinity. Bugcatcher: Can fire transfiguration beams from his hands, transforming targets into insects. The insects generally match the target's self-image, but do not maintain their previous intelligence. Viral: Anyone Viral touches has their mind overwritten with Viral's own mind and personality. The original body is kept intact, and Viral must become accustomed to it. Viral has steadily spread across the world since Calamity's first appearance--there are whole towns composed entirely of Viral's mental duplicates, living together, fighting together, and even breeding together. No one even knows what the original Viral looks like, or even what his or her gender was. The Honest Man: If he catches a person in a lie, he is capable of compelling that person to obey his every command. 2

Mental image: Nathan in a hamster wheel. A valid plan after Nighthound released him, otherwise he could just have Nathan stop breathing, or something, Still not a very pleasant option for Nighthound, which is good in my book. In the meantime, Funtimes has no delusions about Nighthound not being a danger to her and her (pet?) friends. She won't be inclined to let Nathan out of her sight when Nighthound is in the vicinity, so if he tries anything, she can always pre-empt his attack with the old turn-your-boots-to-a-tar-pit-and-shirt-to-acid trick. Before informing him that he's standing on a sinkhole and will fall through the floor of the MoNA and go splat on the pavement, and that the sinkhole can follow him should he try for safer ground. I know that probably wouldn't last, but going splat is never fun. That, incidentally, might just dissolve Nighthound's fragile alliance with the Wacko Brigade. Yes, all 5 of them, did I count that right? So Nighthound isn´t allowed to hug Nathan while he´s half nacked anymore? Interestingly enough Nighthound himself wouldn´t care that much about Nathan not being an Epic, he´s looking down on him anyway and Funtimes fetishes (as he would put it) are her matter, he just doesn´t like others fooling him. 1

Nathan, Remington, Voidgaze, Big Al, Sam, Revolution, the Unicyclist, and…um….Cricket doesn't seem too bad. Allow me to quote Funtimes: "That is icky! No! Bad! Even Fortuity wore pants in public!" Yet I somehow don't get the feeling that were Nighthound to be calmly informed of the situation, he would burst into a childlike grin, grab hands with Nathan and Funtimes, and sing several rousing choruses of "Kumbaya."
