"The Lightwards and Funtimes Show" is simultaneously the most hilarious and the most terrifying sitcom on television. :o:P

Voidus, shall I go ahead and write up the Aldo-Cricket scene? Then Phoenix can stumble across them?

I think their theme song would sound a bit like this. :D

Yep although Penumbra left his bowler back at the base.

(As if we needed any more proof that he was evil)

As long as he doesn't destroy it, he's not completely irredeemable. (If you want a good Moral Event Horizon, just have Penumbra burn the hat to ashes. But be prepared for tears from the rest of us. :P)

Good night. Hope your headaches clear up soon. :(

I would love to see the pony from Remington's backstory, though!  :D

He has both a name and a cutie mark, but I am hiding both for reasons of fun, spoilers, and RAFO-ing. :D

Let the speculation begin!

Yes.

I'm guessing that his prime invincibility was no match for Remington Springfield. :P

Anyway, posted. I'm trying to flesh out Cricket a little more, and I revealed what Lightwards' "belonging" is.

I'm working on that post now. Not sure when I'll have the chance to post it, but I'm kind of nervous about bungling this (having built up expectations and all) so I figured I'd write it down now and give myself time to edit in the interim.

When I read that, I think my exact words were "D'oh! Why did I not guess that?"

And the song at the end was a nice touch. :D

Cool. I plan on doing the same for the extended Sam flashback, though I'm really not sure when or where it will be posted.

I'm sure that if I'd waited any longer to post that, somebody would have guessed that. I wanted Lightwards to find out about Alice being AOL, so I thought a brief side scene with Aldo and Cricket would be a good way to set that up. Purple Phoenix fitted the scene perfectly, because before we arranged that bit I was worried about a dull ending to the scene. No scene is dull if it includes PP. :D

And thanks. :) I actually re-read all the posts that had Zombie!Alice in them. The fight with Nighthound was a major narrative event in many different ways, it seems.

Sweet. :D

It's hard to make that beard of his boring. :P

It really was. It cemented a lot of things and introduced the characters (and southeastern Portland) to three very different fighting styles: Nighthound's brutality, Lightwards' calculated slaughters, and Funtimes' madness-with-a-method. And it hinted that only a very thin thread of rational thought (represented by Nathan) is holding their alliance together. ;)

It's interesting how the significance of a lot of game events are only really apparent later on. As I recall, the fight with Nighthound erupted because we were bored and wanted something to do while we waited for other players to return. :P

It may come to pass that Revolution's bacon scene will wind up being the integral scene of the entire RP before all is said and done. :P

Also, I decided I wanted a crack at making an Alice Reg-hay.

Yep. We were bored with speculation and shipping, so we said "You know what'd be fun...." And the fight began. I didn't expect Nathan telling Alice to think to even last (I fully expected Lightwards to take control of her once the fight ended) but now it's going to be a major plot point, from the looks of things. And Remington, who only became a viewpoint character because his ship with Alice turned out to be so affecting (even to me) is now going to have one heck of a tragic (and dare I say badchull) backstory. It's still in the works, but even I'm somewhat surprised by the way it's taking shape.

That's what discovery writing is, though. It happens to me as I write on my own all the time. It's stressful, but a ton of fun.

Shadow Revolution will become canon, her love buying enough of his loyalty to take out some of the major players. :P

That is seriously awesome. :D I like the way she's gaining back some of her color.

My interest was piqued as soon as Nathan gave her the order; it just took some time for me to figure out what the logical progression from that point would be. Until then I hadn't considered what such an order would do to a Warrior. It's just another example of how the characters and setting details expand as other members of the group add details.

Remington/Alice is a ship I still support, by the way. :P Max seems to be in the best position to meet up with her first, but if we can get Alice, Max, and Remington to the same place soon, I will be a happy pony indeed. :D

Thanks. :) I feel obligated to keep saying "Sponsored by the Super Speedy Comic Squeezy" whenever I post these. It really is a cool web app that allows the creation of large and artsy looking panels without much labor or skill. :P

See, I had pictured something like Alice supplying a few more creative ideas, only to have every ounce of creativity vanish when Lightwards ordered her to stop that nonsense, leaving Nathan feeling both saddened and wondering if and how he could get the other Warriors to start thinking. But this way is much better and much more interesting.

Me too! :) I had actually pictured him sort of guiding her through gaining back her cognitive functions as he taught her how to shoot. As I envisioned it, he would be very worried that any sort of orders would hamper her growing self-awareness, and so would teach her through questions: "Can you tell me your name?" "Alice." "All right, Alice, do you know how to handle a rifle?" "No." "Can you hold it like this?" "Yes." "Can you put it up against your shoulder and pull your foot back to brace for the recoil?" And so on. Whatever happens, though, I'm hoping he meets up with her soon. He already sees Lightwards as the Big Bad (another hint about the alicorn for you :D) and he would jump at the opportunity to help drag Alice out from under his control.

One part of me thinks I should check it out and make comics of my own, but another part of me keeps reminding me about the 5 obscenely long articles I need to read for my classes this week.  <_<

Let the speculation begin!

wow. No idea, but I'm excited to see him soon.

One thing I'm confused on, can't Lightwards just command Alice to return to him?

Here's Chimera's bio, I'll be posting his intro along with Max trying to find Gordon, later today.

Epic Name: Chimera

Human Name: Cadmus Potera

Weakness: <PM'd to the GM>

Primary Power: Chimera can combine multiple animals into one. Usually, it's only two or three, as more just creates a jumble of animal parts. If he sketches out what the final creature should look like and solidifies an image that way, he has more control over how the two animals combine. If he just combines quickly, he may get a rabbit with a rattlesnake tail instead of a furry rattlesnake. The more effort he puts into imagining and shaping the animal in his mind, the more control he has.

Secondary Power: Mind control. The animals he creates are under his mind control. They obey any orders he sends.

Tertiary Power: Absorbance of traits. Chimera can, after creating a creature, absorbs one of its traits. Whether it's the ability to breathe underwater or sharp fangs. When he assumes that trait, the animal loses it. He can only absorb one trait at a time. After he is finished, he can remove that trait from himself, but the animal does not get it back.

Appearance: Chimera tends to wear a variety of animal print clothing and clothing with animal images. He is very into that theme. An example outfit would be a wolf shirt with a zebra striped pair of shorts. He will wear skins of animals a decent amount of time. After heavy usage of his powers, he has sometimes worn full skins. A full bearskin was what he wore, draped over his entire body once when he went on an animal creation rampage.

Age: 31

Home City: Billings, Montana

Interests: Hunting on occasion, drawing, painting.

Job: He used to be a developing nature artist. Growing up in the outskirts of Billings, he had lots of nature to draw and paint.

Weaponry: Two long, steel sabers with handles of bone sheathed on his back.

Im excited to see how you guys Ponify this one.

I just realized that two, and soon three, of my characters are waiting on Joe. ;) Altermind needs Sightline to take the maps and Voidgaze, Electro needs a job from CorpseMaker, and soon, Max will be talking to Gordon.

Talking with Twi, I decided that Chimera took up residence in the Oregon Zoo. It is in western Portland, south of Thoughttown. If you look at the map I made on page 39, it is near where Arlington heights is. Or just google it.

He doesn't have the ability to mentally command Warriors until he's raised them three or four times. It takes a while to build up a mental rapport with them, and even then it's a dodgy process. He's only raised Alice once, so she wouldn't respond to orders unless he delivered them vocally.

Claudius is the only Warrior with which he has a strong enough rapport to deliver mental commands.

I love Chimera! He's looking like a really interesting villain--can't wait to see him in action! Particularly if he gets some dinosaurs at some point. ;)

That's what I love about this RP. It brings even the wildest dreams to life. :P

Posted a Cricket bio + her pony in the Epics of Oregon thread.

Also I should probably send Aldo and Cricket's weaknesses to TwiLyght before too much longer. I can only cheat the system for so long.   :P

They're in a floating museum which I will have Funtimes call MoNA before too long, it's filled with a prehistoric jungle, and on the ground we have living toys. Life is good. :D

*puts on best curmudgeonly voice* You system-cheating little hoodlum! Keeping their weaknesses a secret! Next thing ya know you'll be touching art in museums and cutting across my lawn in your disrespectful short pants...It's gone too far, I tell you! Youth today...

Nothing can separate me from my disrespectful short pants! Don't try to stop me, you curmudgeon-impersonator you!

(Just so I'm not lynched by an angry mob, I assure you all that the GM knows the weaknesses now.  )

Ooh--Twi, can I reference Aldo's mysteriously powerful rope made of handkerchiefs as being crafted by Arachne? I'd already assumed it had been made by an Epic, and I only just now realized how perfectly it fits with her super-weaving powers. I mean, he mentions that it's part spider silk and everything. :D

Great scenes btw Kobold, I loved Alice singing at the end :P

Thanks. :)

TwiLyght wrote the song lyrics. Funtimes got Alice singing carols back during her brief career as a zombie. :P

Yes. Yes, you may. Thank you, Silver Age Superman, for the power ideas! :D

Thanks. She's not quite as filled with villainous potential as the Trimmer, but she still sounds cool. :P:D

I like Phoenix's scenes, by the way. :)  Should we set up Aldos hypnosis solution in this scene? Aldo could notice he's having some troubles focusing, and after a brief quiz he might be able to get him straightened out a little.

I love chimera, adding that tertiary ability was a great idea.

thanks, I thought if it almost as I finished.

So I had some thoughts while driving today:

Should Chimera be able to gift his trait absorption or mind control powers? I thought about it and thought that it might be too many powers, but really, it'd be just extensions of his existing ones. What do you guys think?

If he can gift, I thought of him joining with Black Fist, since he would be able to control the inherent evilness that came with his powers because of the gifting. Or, I originally created him to join TT to give them a power boost. Should I just let him be for now and see how it goes?

As far as the mind control goes, I think if Lightwards raised an animal and Chi combined it with some other animal, he would have control of it. If Lightwards raised a dead creation of Chi's, it would be his. If Nighthound took over Chi's creation he would have control unless Chi combined it. Sound right?

Kobold, how come Lightwards doesn't just kill his Warriors and raise them again and again until he is able to control them with his mental thoughts?

Would hearing a recording of Lightwards's voice control Warriors?

Do you guys have any ideas for what Chimera can call his creations? I want some nickname he can use. I've been using combo or hybrid so far, but I don't really like them.

Chimera can technically take over humans as they are animals, but he doesn't think of them like that, so he doesn't. What about the zombie humans Lightwards raises or the soldiers Toymaker creates?
