IchigoBlade Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 I'm a person who dreads spoilers! And unfortunately, due to bad timing, I read quite the big "spoiler"... Was watching a WoR video as I just finished reading it, and one of the comments below mentioned "Taravangian becomes Odium" At first I am just distraught lol, so I just close the window, but then it got me thinking about it for a hour.. Obviously this would be quite the big revelation, but It's also quite odd that he would become a shard... And how would he even take down Odium... I'm coping by telling myself this is just a troll or speculative theory, and did not in-fact happen, but yeah I just wanted to vent haha... I guess I just want to know if I shot myself in the foot here, or it's not that big of a deal... How do you usually cope with spoilers? For me, the spoilers linger forever in my head, and I can't forget them 3
+Invocation Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 (edited) Journey before destination, right? So you know something may or may not happen. So what? You don't know for sure how it happens, or why, or what leads up to it. Like you said, it's quite odd of an idea, for Taravangian to become a Shard. It's not exactly easy to kill a Vessel and take their power, particularly for a dynamic of a man willing to do the things Taravangian can and has done without anyone being the wiser until he lets them be. Read on, discover the truth, and enjoy the path along the way. That's where the fun is. Edited March 28, 2023 by Invocation 9
Xaladin he/him Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 (edited) LOL. Trolls are everywhere. The Taravangian-Odium theory is a popular one in the fandom. Keep reading, and you’ll find out what we actually know. Edited March 25, 2023 by Xaladin 12
Voidmaker he/him Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 (edited) Yeah, it's a fun theory, but don't sweat it. Not enough evidence IMO. I'll let you take your pick on the theory itself, but I'd recommend just dismissing it for now. It wasn't a theory made by an actual character, so it doesn't affect much. You're good. Sorry for the panic, though. Imagine how chaotic the timeline would be if Taravangian-Odium actually occurs... guess we'll see if these theories are right in the fifth book. Hope not, though, that'd probably be a nightmare. Stay out of comment sections next time, though- you might actually get a Sanderlanche ruined by a real spoiler. Have fun with Oathbringer! Edit: I forgot to answer that last bit at the end, so here: I avoid spoilers like the plague, but luckily, If I ever find out a spoiler on anything, usually I can forget about it in a few days. Gotta love a bad memory sometimes. Edited March 27, 2023 by Voidwatcher Forgot to answer something 6

For me, the spoilers linger forever in my head, and I can't forget them I heard this theory before, I think it's overrated in my opinion I know a lot of people hold to it I Understand why but. It would be cool to T as odium and D as honor. But I just don't see how the story can get to that point. But who knows maybe next book there'll be some unexpected twists. It's Brandon Sanderson so anything is possible. Edited April 23, 2023 by bmcclure7 4
