The Pasta King Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 Devotion and Dominion are shards in the cognitive realm that manifest their power on Sel as the dor. Would Domi be the vessel of Devotion shard and would Jadeth be the vessel of Dominion? If Jadeth is the vessel of Dominion and is trapped in the cognitive realm would it be possible for the Wyrn to have the ability to communicate with him? Could the shards have merged and became Conviction or something? What does this have to do with the Kings Soul? Does the pool that kills Elantrians lead to the Cognitive realm allowing Elantrians to be able to access the cognitive realm allowing one of them to claim the shards? Will there be a final Brandon Sanderson Sel book where it is a battle over the cognitive realm with Jadeth vs Domi. What side would shai be on?
Honorless he/him Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 Cosmere spoilers Spoiler The Vessels of Devotion and Dominion were Aona and Skai. Both are stated to be dead, killed by Odium. The Dor is a mixture of the power of both the Shards. So it's unlikely that Jaddeth refers to Dominion but might still refer to an actual entity. We don't know. Yes, the Pool leads to the Cognitive Realm. But due to the presence of the Dor, the Cognitive Realm of Sel is very deadly. It's basically investiture lava.

Also, if you do or do not want spoilers (or just no spoilers for a specific book or series)? Many of your questions are answer through the various books and series - but some of them were deduced then either confirmed or denied in Words of Brandon.
The Pasta King Posted January 28, 2023 Author Posted January 28, 2023 Ok sorry this is my first post. 1

We want to help, but we also don't want to spoiler things inadvertently. It seems evident you have read Elantris and Emperor's Soul - but have you read "Hope of Elantris"? Arcanum Unbounded? Any other Cosmere works like Warbreaker, Mistborn and Stormlight Archive? Edited January 28, 2023 by Treamayne SPAG
The Pasta King Posted January 28, 2023 Author Posted January 28, 2023 Not really my brother is really into it and talks about it a bunch so I know stuff but have never officially read more than a few books 1

Spoilers are an absolute certainty and I'd hate for you to miss out on the excitement of what's in store. Warbreaker, then Mistborn, then Stormlight is a pretty good path to follow IMO. Good luck, and enjoy. 1
Quantus he/him Posted January 30, 2023 Posted January 30, 2023 Regarding your original/title question, and to temper expectations, we don't currently know much of anything for certain about the Wyrn, so most of what we could offer is theory and that particular mystery isn't yet solved in the story. We do know he has some sort of precognitive ability, and by the shared magic rules the Cosmere novels all use that typically implies Spiritual Realm shenanigans rather than Cognitive Realm ones. But there are always special cases, Sel has several of them.
IlstrawberrySeed Posted January 30, 2023 Posted January 30, 2023 We do know they have a reason to think jadeth will come back. Likely to do with TLM.
