Thx. Connection is the metaphysical concept of relationships. Basically how you relate to time, people, places, language, nations, ideas, etc.

Tglassy Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 It's not entirely clear, but we do know a few things. The theory is that when storing it, your Connection to people and places degrades quickly. That's your bonds with people, such as friendships and relationships and the like. People would kinda forget about you, your bond with them becoming weaker. Or at the very least, your ability to MAKE such relationships and bonds would be harder. Someone or something trying to connect to you would be difficult. One thing that comes to mind is that if a Spren were to try to bond you while storing Connection, it would be harder to do. On the other hand, tapping Connection makes you able to form these bonds faster. People will connect with you easier. One thing we've seen this used for is the Medallions, where they used Connection to learn new languages. If you tap Connection while in a new area, your soul will Connect with the area, and you will speak the language of the area. There could be other uses, such as creating Spren Bonds easier, but that's all we've really seen. 1

There are other things you can do with it, but we don't know the extent of those.

Yeah, you can store the ability to form specific Connections. This can include Connection to people, location, and even time, though I'm not entirely sure what else you might be able to do. Tapping blank Connection to a location is likely how the medallions allow for communication and tapping Connection to people is probably how a Connector Ferring is able to form relationships with people faster. Not sure what tapping or storing temporal Connection does though, but it probably can't affect age. There are other ways to make, you’re along the right path, but that’s not exactly what, the terminology it's just not working right there. Oversleep By the way Shadows of Self was my favourite Mistborn book. That ending was just emotional trainwreck for me. It was awesome. Brandon Sanderson It's weird because I think that the weakest Mistborn novel is actually Alloy of Law but I think Shadows of Self and Bands of Mourning are among the strongest.
