Tak closed his eyes and opened his mind, trying very, very hard to feel something. He opened his eyes after a few seconds, dejected. Around him, he saw his fellows students concentrating, some gasping. Strangely, one was doodling. He shrugged. It was, after all, time to try something different. He adopted a straight-backed, simple meditational pose and focused on the surroundings. He imagined the soul of the room, the spirits of those around him and-right there. He felt a loose thread and grabbed onto it, holding on tight as it tried to escape. He grinned as he embraced the spirit in his soul, imprinting it with wild ideas, hopes, and dreams. The spirit was resistant at first, but he could feel it-more of a general impression of it's overreaching will, really-begin to be intrigued. In his head, Tak laughed maniacally. And he whispered to his new spirit. "There's a lot more where that came from, buddy." 

The spirit responded with a bit of worry, a lot of intrigue, and a fair amount of deviousnesses. Tak could work with that. "Now, let's go make a list of...what was it?" 

He checked his chicken scratch notes. "Oh, no. Impulsive behavior. This ought to be fun."

The spirit pulsed with dread.

"Great!" Anmil paused. "So... what do we do and where do we do it?"

"Uh..." Tuncay hesitated. "Harvest...each others'...minds." Don't really want a complete stranger in my head, but I guess it's unavoidable if I want to be a Mind Harvester...ugh.

"Yeah, I know, but... where should we do that? Also, how are we supposed to do it? I don't recall it ever being explained."

"Well..." Tuncay focused for a moment. "I can sense your mind now, I don't think it would be too hard. But...yeah, I don't think my doorway would be the best place. Um." He hesitated. "Do you...want to come in?"

Ok, reach out... Anmil closed their eyes and felt... something. A softly glowing sphere of color. Tuncay's mind. Anmil reached out... and took a little from it.

That was... surprisingly easy.

"I think that I did it... your turn, I guess."

Tuncay took a breath. They were in my head. "Right. Uhh..."

He first centered on his own mind, as well as his shade's. She encouraged him, pushing her towards Anmil's mind; a soft glow ahead of him. He pushed his consciousness towards it, and, upon contact, felt and heard Anmil's being. Not wanting to delve any deeper than necessary, Tuncay plucked a tiny bit out of the glow right at the front, then retreated back to his own mind. 

Was that it? He asked his shade. She bobbed her confirmation. He smiled faintly, then pulled back to the physical world. 

"Done."

"Well, that was surprisingly easy!" Anmil paused. Uh oh. "So now I guess we... do it again." Great.

"I mean...the professor just said to practice; I think what we just did counts as practice. So, unless you think you need more practice harvesting or connecting it to you...." He thought for a second. "Actually, I'm not sure if I connected it to myself. But one more time, and I think I'll be good if you are."

Anmil focused again, seeing the same glow. This time, Anmil focused some more and saw the details. Tiny shifts and colors, presumably what Tuncay was feeling. Again, Anmil took a little.

"Your turn now, I guess..."

This RP has been dead for five months, and in a week and a half comes its one year aniversary. And after the predecessor RP died before me... I refuse to let this one die just like that. Not without at least trying to hold it. So, it's SPUCE update time!

This might come off as a tad annoying. I did this with some regularity with Let's Go Find a Dragon, and I honestly have no idea if the original participants liked or hated it. Just to explain: SPUCE is an acronym for Self Proclaimed Unofficial Continuity Editor. As such, I reminded all the players where their characters are and what's going on, and tagged the relevant players. I'm going to try and do so now, we'll see how successful I am.

The last major event was first class. Essentially, we all started bonding beings from other realms (Spiritbinders and Mind-Harvesters), the other realm itself (Necromancers) or a wand (Enchanters). Following that, we all got homeworks - mostly to get used and try out our (new) powers. From there, we did went a little forward:

Tuncay (DramaQueen) and Anmil (NerdyAarakocra) were practicing Mind-Harvesting on each other, as can be seen in this page.

Tak (Flaming Coinshot) just bonded his spirit buddy - can also be seen in this page.

Instance (the Known Novel) just made sure her proffesor knows just how important she is and that she doesn't need to bond a wand, and got out of class, bumping into someone - I'm not sure if it was supposed to be someone else's character. Could be Knight's own character, probably isn't DramaQueen's, can be Eluvianii's, would be likely considering the fact she - Illia - is in the same class. Instance just walked it off, but you can work some character interaction into it! Speaking of which, Illia just tried and failed to enchant a rock, being unsure what to do, and went for lunch. Also, she might be a bit ahead in time... We'll see, anyway.

Another enchanter who didn't actually reply since the class happened is Jared Slipstream (Emery the Steelrunner). Hope he'll be able to reply this time! Same goes for the Mind-Harvester Katie Copper (Issabelle6060), which is kind of odd for... undisclosed reasons. Tessa (Knight of Iron) just bonded her shade and that's it. Sylvia (JesterLavourre) didn't reply yet either - and that closes it for Mind-Harvesters.

On the Spiritbinders side, Enshao (Channelknight Fadran) also bonded his spirit in an elaborate post but didn't yet continue from there - and due to the small amount of Spiritbinders in or group, that's it for those.

Of the Necromancers, it appears only I replied - Ben is shaken after being temporarily dead. And I really am afraid that's it. Joleuf (Goob) and Jania (Random Bystander) didn't die yet, and are just... well... with the rest of the much-less-active players.

So, a summary: MH class - Tuncay and Anmil are doing their assignment, Tessa has just bonded. E class - Instance, sure of herself, just went away. Ilia, the opposite of sure, has given up for now and went to eat. N class - Ben is shaken but did mostly nothing - I'll move him right away. SB class - Tak and Enshao are bonded but didn't move forward.

In the hallowed waiting room, we have Katie, Sylvia, Jared, Joleuf and Jania. It's apparently unlucky to name your character something that starts with J. We can wait for them, and I'll tag them, but beyond that... We'll see.

Ben realized he was just sitting in the infirmary and stepped down from the bed. He still felt only half there, somewhat surreal. He-

Thousands of grey forms, seeming only vaguely human-shaped, were drawing close, screeching: 'all are called by the One! The walls he built barricade and block, stagnate and freeze, but when the One calls no walls can stand, no barrier can hold!' The sillhouette of a door made of smoke, surrounded by screeching faces; a reptillian face, looking around and growling, 'where are you?!

He gasped, looking up, realizing he's kneeling on the floor. He got up and shook his head. what was that? He thought. Is... is that how my life are going to look like from now on?

He got to his feet, shaking, and started walking away - towards the stairs and upward, to the dining room.
