Clinic: Testing Room

"You're sure this is safe?" the young man called nervously.

Clinic: Testing Room

The receptionist’s voice crackled over the intercom, slightly garbled by all the intense magic going through the young man’s head. “Of course. This facility is cutting-edge. This test has a lower than 10% rate of failure.”

"Ten percent?" The young man tried unsuccessfully to keep the anxiety out of his voice. "What happens if it fails?"

“Oh, don’t worry, that won’t hap-” the intercom cut off with a screech as the magic scanning the man abruptly halted. The lights of the room had also failed, leaving him alone, room pitch black aside from the light of the glowing runes running along the walls.

The young man gripped the armrests. "Uh... Was that supposed to happen?"

Sorry, haven't been able to get on.

"Hmm..." He scratched his head as he looked it over. Finally, Thaidakar nodded, "this... it summarizes the dangers we'll face. Um... how do either of you feel about creatures made out of shadows? There's also a lot of traps and some odd animals... something about tiger-bears?"

Calano nodded, "Great," He said.

He went back into his room.

The Clinic: Calano's Room

Telrao watched Calano with visible uncertainty as he re-entered the room. She jumped up onto his bed, sitting primly, waiting.

She opened her mouth to ask Calano a question, then closed it. Instead, she drew Aon Omi, the Aon for Love in the air and let it hang there, glowing.

"You... really loved her, didn't you?" She said softly.

The lights flickered back on, and the receptionist walked back in, perusing a set of files. "The lights? Yeah, it's a side effect of the magic. Messes with electricity." He frowned, holding up a sheet of paper. "It appears that you were telling the truth about Brandonfandonitis. I'll send these results to a specialist. Should be finished with a full analysis of your psych within three to five weeks."

The Clinic: Library

Nameless nodded. "I think we'll be fine. Say, Rue. Do you know the weave for the Flame of Tar Valon?"

Nope. :P

"I'm afraid not." The receptionist frowned. "That is odd. I suppose we could run the test again, see if we get some clearer results?"

Rue nodded. "I do, although...well, as long as you can't see my weaves it should be fine."

The young man shuddered. "No, thank you." He exhaled, standing up from the chair. "You said that test was for... Brandonfandonitis? What's that?"

"What? Why wouldn't you want me to know that weave? was going to suggest we link to see if I could figure out how do it with saidin. It's only really useful against shadowspawn, and we seem to be fighting a lot of that kind of creature lately."

The Clinic: Testing Room

"Yes. It's a terrible disease that afflicts many of those who read Brandon Sanderson's books. Similar to addiction, but far more difficult to break."

Rue sighed. "It's forbidden to teach the weave to a man, even if I wanted to. It's called the flame of Tar Valon, not the Black Tower. The...the sitters will take any advantage they can get."

Rue shrugged tiredly. “I’m sure I—that is, we—can handle it. Is there anything else we should know?”

@Thaidakar the Ghostblood @Random Bystander @UnfortunatelyNamed

"There might be a guardian directly in the archive itself... I don't know what it will be, it doesn't say."

"Ah. Tower politics. Should've guessed. Still, what's the worst that could happen? You get a penance when you go back to the Tower? Isn't that worth the benefit of giving me a weapon that will actually help against our enemies?"
