"I don't know." She says. Suddenly, her face lights up, "I do know! we can have a library and you can only go once a week with one book checked out at a time." Willa looks towards Lark hopefully, "What do you think?"

...I was under the impression that the Clinic already had a very expansive library that was completely for the usage of patients at their leisure...

Lark trembled, leaning against the wall for support, staring at the floor Willa had vanished through. He stood that way for several minutes, eyes unfocused, terror obvious in his face. Finally, he spoke in a small, frightened voice. "What is going on?"

You should come back. If you can't, I understand. But this is big. We need everyone.

Calano took a deep breath and released Emma. "Bookwyrm should hopefully be able to come. This is bad." He put his head in his hands and breathed out. "Ugghhh, why did this have to happen??"

Bookwyrm closed the Wyrmhole behind him and appeared in the room where Calano, Emma, and their parents were waiting.

"Kaos has somehow broken free, at least partially, of it's prison's influence," he said. "We should figure out why, and how to stop it."

Telrao growls, then quickly draws Aon Tia in the air, targeting Willa. She appears next to Lark and Telrao, trembling. Telrao glances up at Lark.

"The Balance has been upset." Her ears go flat against her head as she stands of shaking legs. "Kaos is shifting. It's my fault."

The ground quakes harder. "I shouldn't have broken my third oath. Now, we are doomed." She freezes in place. She tries to speak, but all that comes out is garbled feline nonsense. There is panic in her eyes. She draws Ate, Aon for Silence. She can no longer speak.

She was lost.

Also, where was she?

Also, who was she?

She took quick stock of herself—dark skin, smooth black hair, bare feet, a satchel. Cool. I like me. With a grin, she wandered around the halls.

"Kaos?" Lark knelt next to Telrao, drawing on a power he knew he didn't have anymore, had never had so freely, giving the cat back the power of human speech. "I don't understand. Please, this isn't right. None of it is right. I'm not in charge. I'm barely even allowed to treat patients! And there were never any restrictions on the books. Not since Calano took back over. The patients weren't restricted. They were- they were-" He crumpled, voice breaking. "What is going on? How is this all happening?"

She ran down the hall toward the person and the cat. “Hi! Can you tell me where I am?”

She shrugged. “I get it. You’re busy. Catch you later!” Walks down the hall again

The evil therapists were keeping the library closed, or something. (It didn‘t seem like the library was open, so I had not idea.)

“Wait! What?“ Willa screeches, “Telrao, I don‘t understand. I don‘t understand anything! How… Why did this Kaos thing get free when you broke your oath!?!“ Willa‘s eyes lock on the Aon hovering in the air. Her face falls. “Can you still write?” She asks. She pulls a crumpled sheet of paper and a neon orange pencil from her pocket, “Or could you never write in the first place?“

Okay. There was an invasion of Evil Therapists while we were gone. We can make that work...

Calano punched a wall. "The clinic's in chaos again, Kaos itself has broken free, and I just found my parents. This is turning out to be quite the day. Lark can handle most of the clinic."

He turns to the rest of the group, which is him, Emma, their parents, Bookwyrm, and Insa. "The rest of us, we need to go to my private study in the Library. Now. We can plan there. We're safe from Kaos here, there are protections, ancient ones, in place, but we need to plan how to prevent the rest of the multiverse, and existence itself, from succumbing to Kaos."

He turned on the spot, and they were all in his Library study.

The table in the middle of the room had diagrams and papers, and Calano shoved it all to the side. It vanished when it hit the floor. "Anyone have any ideas?"

"My main guess," Bookwyrm said, "Would be that the Archive would have something about how to deal with Kaos." He pulled out his tome and began to flip through it. "Unfortunately, the only information the Archive did have on Kaos was incomplete, and on top of that, coded with a cypher I don't understand." Bookwyrm landed on a page and showed Calano a page filled with strange incomplete symbols. "Even my translators lenses don't work.

"However, my experience in that Archive told me that there were other ones. I think we should go searching for them." Bookwyrm closed his tome. "But that shouldn't be our only course of action."

Calano nods, "Can you assemble a strike team to find other Archives? I don't care who you take, but make it quick, and find an answer. If you would like me to make a copy of that page, I can see if I can try to break the cypher."

Calano turned to the rest of the group, "We should also send a team to check on Kaos' prison dimension. It's dangerous. Very dangerous. But necessary." He turned to Eric and Joe. "Dad, do you or Joe have anything that can help? In your Case?"

"Perhaps." Joe opens the case and walks down into it and much banging and crashing sounds from the case.

"Calano," whispers Emma. "I've been focusing with my mother on the prison, we know where it is. The shifting shifted where the prison is. If it shifts too much more..."

Telrao looks up at her mournfully, tears in her feline eyes. She studies the pencil, then picks it up carefully in her paw. She freezes just before she puts pencil to paper.

Will this count as talking to a patient? Will I be helping Kaos by doing this?

She finally begins to write. "Somehow, breaking my Third Oath has caused a small fracture in Kaos' cell. He is testing, pushing against it. I can sense it." She growls softly, tail swishing as she finishes writing. "I cannot speak as punishment for my sin. My power has been dimmed by Kaos' influence." She finishes writing, contemplative. Indeed, her aon patterns glow less brightly now. Her eyes seem to dim a little bit. Like she's... losing herself.

With a visible effort, she pulls her mind back. I have to stay sane. If only for the Clinic.

I won't let you." She looks up at Lark, "Can't you do something?" She asks, "Maybe incinerate it? Or freeze it into an ice cube? Or... anything?"

The shock from the sparks made her shudder a little. "I don't know much about what is going on but I can go wherever and do whatever you need me to."
