At risk of this being way off I must ask about TLRs atium bracers... Did Vin ever burn any of that atium?

I was reading a post/ theory on how Bleeder could have been pseudo compounding via only using a spike that allowed for A-steel on screen and that she was burning metal minds perhaps created through another spike to store speed thus gaining 10x the speed she stored without having access to the feruchemy when she was burning the steel metalminds.

If the lord rulers armbands were in fact full and feruchemically charged shouldn't it have become a new alloy to be burned... I guess we did see Vin attempt to burn one of Sazeds metalminds and she noted she could feel it was different but when she burnt it she only got the normal allomantic enhancement.  Perhaps if that metalmind had been unkeyed she could have in fact accessed the stored abilities instead?

If we were to see an auger on screen again who got a hold of an unkeyed metalmind like the one that Wayne received could that gold allomancer have access to Miles level of healing (even if only for a bracers worth)?

Likewise with medallion tech if a person were to rent a medallion for a night and store into the same metal that they are naturally able to burn could they have a metalmind that can be burnt for explosive pseudocompounded power later post medallion rental?

This basically boils down to the question of whether Vin was blocked from compounding Sazed's metalmind because she's not a Feruchemist AND she's not Sazed or just because she's not Sazed. I'm leaning more towards the former, but I'm not sure if there are any WoBs on that or not. From a narrative standpoint, my instincts tell me compounding would be too accessible if it's just an identity issue. But, if medallions and Hemalurgy are going to be increasingly commonplace, compounding is going to be pretty accesible anyways.

In general, and as far as we know: Yes, if you have the ability to Burn the metal, and the sample you Burn is not blocked by Identity in some way, you should be able to Burn it and get the burst of the Feruchemical Energy.  Without the corresponding Feruchemical Ability you would not be able to ReStore that energy into a metalmind for later or for large bursts, so there would be limits.  But if the initial metalmind is UnKeyed or Keyed to you (via using hemalurgy or an unSealed Metalmind, etc) I do believe you could Allomantically burn it, flare it, etc. and release Feruchemical effects at allomantic rates until you burned up the Charged sample.

Could an Augur Compound Health out of a goldmind if its proper owner messed with Identity in the right way?

This is possible

With metalminds, do we know if identity can only be stored when making them to make them accessible to others?   Or can identity be stored so a person can access a keyed metalmind?

I know an unkeyed mind is like a door with no lock.  But could a ghost enter a room that has a lock?   Could someone storing their identity get around even owned and keyed metalminds?

If yes, this could open another avenue for pseudo compounding if a person has access to F aluminum and any number of allomantic powers.  Imagine a mistborn with an aluminum medallion stealing random peoples metalminds and being able to burn them from there.  Or any F aluminum / A _____ twinborn.

Huh. I had not seen that "Augur Compounding health from identity-less metalmind" WoB before. That's a surprise to me, I always figured you needed both powers.

But on further thought I guess it makes sense. IIRC it's been said that if Miles lost f-Gold to Hemalurgy he could try to heal it back via burning previously charged gold, though it would take a lot to get the ability back. At that point he would just be an Augur (Gold Misting), no Feruchemy, so...

And the whole "Compounding works because it's treated as a different metal, the 'key' that tells Preservation's power what ability to give is changed" idea does suggest it should work with just Allomancy, Identity aside.

There's some debate on this, and everything has a blanket RAFO until era3 comes out because it will be plot relevant.

The Fundamental question is whether it the Metallic Arts can actually Invest a charge of Investiture into Aluminum (for Feruchemy OR Hemalurgy). If it can, that would be the only known mechanism in all the Cosmere that was able to Invest aluminum.  In light of that, some wonder (myself included) if Aluminum Metalminds can only Blank Identity by grounding out the Investiture and cannot actually be Tapped to increase Identity because they dont actually Store Investiture.  Similarly for hemalurgy the Spike removes Powers but doesn't add anything, so there's a question of whether any Spiritweb Charge is actually captured.

It feels wrong to say Aluminum Ferrings can't tap, but Aluminum is weird, so who knows.

I'm surprised this is an Era 3 thing, there's a WoB that if the process for making medallions isn't explained in Lost Metal he'd answer the question after it is out, and I'd think that would give more information on how Identity/f-Aluminum works.

TLR's bracers were broken up and sold to fund Elend's new kingdom, but it wasn't actually all that much atium (stated in WoA). And Vin wouldn't have been able to burn it unless TLR made them unkeyed, which he wouldn't do since removing them would kill him.

Yeah, I didn't see it coming myself either. That WoB is definitely a huge gamechanger.
