Rambajz Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 Hi, this is not some fancy theory as you usualy do here. I just got stuck with the Master of the Metallic Arts title in my head for some time. I am not sure if it was mentioned in the books. So I keep asking myself, Is there somebody we could call Master of the Metallic Arts? Obvious answer for me was Kelsier as has deep knowledge (as far as we know) about metallic arts. But if I know correctly he is not feruchemist. Later I got the idea about Lord Ruler. He was born feruchemist became mistborn and created hemalurgic spikes. On the other hand I do not remember him using them on himself (probably because of Ruin). Lastly if se rule out Sazed as he holds two shards and obviously is connected to all three. So my question is: Is there anybody you would call the Master of the Metallic Arts? 1
cometaryorbit Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 Kelsier post return to life probably is a Feruchemist, assuming he really made the Bands of Mourning. And he definitely used Hemalurgy for that. TLRs bracers were Hemalurgic spikes per WoB, but I don't know if they were really power granting (TLR had all the powers already... but maybe double Soothing or Pushing?) or just a case of 'pierced by Invested metal has Hemalurgy type effects'.
StanLemon Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 The Spike Rashek probably needed the most in my opinion was a Zinc Spike for emotional fortitude. I'd agree that Kelsier could be called the Master of the Metallic Arts. I think he actually understood Hemalurgy better than TLR even, considering he figured out how to use it to bring himself back to life. 1
HSuperLee Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 I hope you realize that the image you have permanently affixed in my mind is Kel wearing a Doctor Strange style cloak while being as dramatic as possible and shouting out alliterative names for his various magical abilities, all for the purpose of tricking people into believing his abilities are far more variable and powerful than they actually are. Good on you, Ram, very well done. 2

StanLemon Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 You just know it would be Awakened with a Command to make it move with a dramatic flair

Rambajz Posted January 5, 2022 Author Posted January 5, 2022 Thank you for replies. I have learned new things. I dont follow all the WoBs so I am not so knowledgable as you. I am happy I asked that question I guess I am glad with the result as I will have a special place for Kelsier even though se know what all he did even outside Scadrial. 2

True, I didnt realized that he had to use feruchemy to do that. He probably became feruchemist through spikes right?

He probably became feruchemist through spikes right? Well, the Bands are metalminds so if he really made them he must have had at least f-Nicrosil to make the initial unsealed metalmind... I don't think it's guaranteed he had all Feruchemical powers. And how he got any is a mystery, though spikes must have been involved somehow. He's only depicted with one spike, so it's not clear how he could get more powers - I don't think there were any Full Feruchemist bodies available to take over (and anyway I favor the "Kelsier's new body is a mistwraith/kandra with Kelsier's soul spiked in instead of a Kandra Blessing, and using Kelsier's original skeleton" theory). I guess he could have had small spikes... but where would he get the Feruchemist powers from? I am not sure there were any Feruchemists around immediately after Sazed became Harmony, though Ferrings were born later since the genes remained.

Yeah I watched the Shardcast discussing how je got a body. If Its kandra - they used to be feruchemists right? At least the first ones. So that could be a way to get these powers. Unfortunately I dont have enought knowledge to discuss how je could get a body if He created a new one with full alomancy and feruchemy or he is his old body as a Herald...kandra sounds like one od the most fun, recourceful and interesting one.

HSuperLee Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 Hey, Ram, just so you know since you're new, we generally try to avoid making a bunch of posts in a row and limit ourselves to posting one thing at a time. If you want to respond to multiple people directly, you can either use an "@" to address them by their username or you can put multiple quotes into your post. Don't feel bad about it, a lot of people make the same mistake when they show up, but it does help reduce clutter and confusion. 2
