  1. This is a little something I've been tinkering with in my spare time. I've seen a few people in the past talk about making a set of extra rules for running surgebinding with the Mistborn Adventure Game rules, but personally I think that the feel of both the Investiture and the setting are different enough from Mistborn that it can use its own system. As is, this is still very bare-bones, for example I still haven't hashed out at all the exacts of earning and spending XP, and I don't really have much by way of fabrials yet, but I wanted to show off what I've got so far and see what people's thoughts about it are. Character Stats Character Creation Feats and XP Combat and Rest
  2. We know Honor was splintered around the Recreance and that the Recreance was prompted by that generation of Radiants finding out humans were the real Voidbringers, and at that point Tanavast was overtaken by Honor's Intent and was also fighting Odium and so wasn't mentally stable enough to tell the Radiants that they were still morally okay. So what if the Radiants, having not a massive amount of guidance on how shards work, picked up on the fact he was fighting another god from his "ravings", and also noticed how he'd become obsessed with all oaths, good or bad and assumed that this was a consequence of the radiants existing. So what if they decided that they should break their oaths because they thought the oaths were what was draining Tanavast's sanity? Give just how powerful Surgebinding is, we can assume that 9/10 orders of radiant, with most of each type spren probably bonded, all releasing the Investiture they had (kinda) borrowed from Honor did something like in Warbreaker, where The Stormfather also backs this up: The Radiants didn't abandon their oaths because they thought they weren't in the moral right anymore, they abandoned their oaths because they were "try(ing) to protect the world".
  3. I have a theory: Two people will become the vessels of Odium, Cultivation and Honor, with Honor divided between the two of them. For instance, Dalinar might ascend to Odium and half of Honor, becoming an Odium-heavy shard of War. Someone else would ascend to Cultivation and the other half of Honor. Maybe Lirin would be Honor-vation, as he’s got Edgedancer vibes but is honorable to a fault. Each would be an active shard, unlike Harmony, especially War. War might be even more motivated to take over the cosmere than Rayse was, because of the Intent of the new shard. Cultiv-honor (can anyone come up with a real name?) would have the potential to be a very “good” Shard, depending on who the vessel is and how the two shards combine. I am only raising this as a possibility. I wouldn’t bet on it happening.

  5. From the album: General SA Art

It’s been four years and I drew the crew again! This took me a whole week to finish, but worth it! From left to right (post-WoR settings): Navani (with fabrials), Jasnah (with Ivory), Dalinar (with the Stormfather), Szeth (with Nightblood), Shallan (with Pattern), Kaladin (with Syl), Renarin, Lift (with Wyndle), Adolin and Elhokar. (There are also several arms belonging to some random characters in Dalinar’s army.) Group high five: Let’s save Roshar! (They are standing in a sunlight-lit room in Urithiru.) Full-sized piece on DeviantART: http://fav.me/dboywc5 Close view: Bonus: You can see my progress (I hope!) during these years: (Seems like they were done by two different people…)
  6. Spoilers for the Sixth of the Dusk sequel excerpt. Specifically, this: And this: And for some context, this: What in the world is this? He behaves like a Skybreaker, but he glows violet. The color of Willshapers and Voidlight. What is going on here? Does Skybreaker plate glow violet instead of gray or is this Radiant - assuming he is a Radiant - using Voidlight?
  7. Who do you think might become the third bondsmith? This topic has probably been explored on this forum, but I can't find it, so it's probably time for another post. Also, do we know for a fact that the third bondsmith spren is the Nightwatcher? My guesses, such as they are, are Adolin, Hesina, or Dabbid.

    'Shash'

Don't know if this is important or not, or if it has been mentioned before, but the first letter that Siri teaches the God King is 'shash', which is also the brand Kaladin got on his forehead in The Way of Kings. Just a little tidbit!

Leshwi has taken an interest in the same target and will not allow Lezian to complete his horrible goal.
  11. I'd originally been trying to shape it so that the letters formed a santhid shell as seen as above, since that's the part sailors would see, but in the end I accidentally wound up making it look like the shell above water with a big eye and tentacles trailing below, which I thought was a pretty cool coincidence. Comments and critique welcome.
  12. I have been in the process of adding The abilities of a mistborn, full feruchemist, and the stormlight powers to mario 64 using the sm64 decomp repo. I am almost done adding feruchemy, almost halfway done with allomancy, and just started adding stormlight. 13. Hello Fans! A friend and I want to get a tattoo of the glyph for Honor in the calligraphic style. I have drawn it out but for 1) I'm not if it's right, and 2) I can't make it pretty. Can anybody help??
  14. Hi I'm Tamber, I've started reading the Stormlight archive a few months ago and am currently halfway through Oathbringer. I've also been reading Elantris, the Powdermage trilogy and some unrelated books. Next book will be Dune, but my goal is to complete the Cosmere, witch will take me a long time. What I love about Sandersons books are the worlds, specifically Roshar, and his characters, especially Renarin, bridge four and Hrathen from Elantris. I love to chat about this stuff, but I think, I'm not deep enough into the cosmere and it's systems yet. Hope to chat to some of yall Greetings, Tamber
  15. Disclaimer: I'll be citing many things I read in the course of time, but I lack the energy to reference WoBs or other theories, so I apologize if I talk about something that has been confirmed as incorrect! Hey! First post here After finishing Rhythm of War and spoiling myself a lot through many reads of coppermind, I spent this whole year reading through cosmere theories over here and on reddit too. I'm a huge fan of many theories that are around, and one of the things that I'm really curious about is the origin of the unmade. There are many theories around, some a bit more elaborated than others. There is one linking them to the dawncities (mostly based on what the Sibling said about Raboniel unmaking them) and though I like it, I think it'd be a bit of a stretch (perhaps I'm wrong). There are also many theories linking them to the Heralds but for some reason I don't feel super happy about them either... However, yesterday I was reading a theory on Ba-Ado-Mishram having a human/singer part called Mishram (because of stuff like how she was called a "highprincess" or how Kalak talks about Mishram in such a coloquial way) and that got me thinking. Maybe this is a bit of a stretch, but we could say that Heralds more or less are spren, in the sense that they are cognitive shadows and we know they get affected by Roshar's population's conceptions about them (I think this was confirmed on a WoB but I might be wrong). I always assumed the Unmade were originally a spren of high tier like Cusicesh or even higher like the Stormfather or the Nightwatcher, but what if they were actually people, or aspects of people? When talking about lesser spren, we know of the nature ones just like flamespren, windspren, etc. and the "emotion" ones like angerspren, joyspren, etc. In this tier we also have creationspren, logicspren and some others that don't really represent emotions but something more like concepts. Then we have the "truespren" or what we could call the radiantspren. I'm not really sure what are they, I think it was confirmed on a WoB that the 9 kinds were created by Honor and Cultivation (though I know spren in general predate the arrival of Honor and Cultivation to Roshar). So, radiantspren might be the cognitive representation of ideals ? I mean, for honorspren that's quite straightforward of the ideal of honor (not as a shard but as a general ideal) but mistspren, cryptics, inkspren, etc. are more hard to tie to a specific ideal, though we could say ALL radiant spren are tied to the ideals represented by the radiant order associated with them. Relating the last thing to the Heralds, we know there are certain ideals of values tied to each one (creativity and honesty for Shalash for example, I don't recall the other ones). Maybe this ideals used to have a spren of some sort, or maybe the cognitive nature of the Heralds got tied to these values because of how long people associated them. There are many theories around that link the Heralds' madness to their ideals, and there's a WoB confirming their madness is a magical one. What if the unmade are an aspect of the heralds that was taken from them by Odium, causing their madness and also explaining how many of them are mindless and represent specific "bad" things like Ashtermarn or Nergaoul? There are a couple of problems with this theory. First, we should establish when this happened. I don't know how old the Unmade are, so I'm asking you guys, does this make sense chronologically? In Dalinar's vision fighting the Midnight Essence, the KR already existed but we know the Oathpact and the Heralds predate the KR. My theory would be that Odium unmade the Unmade when the Heralds broke the Oathpact (explaining why there are 9, since Taln didn't break), but I'm not sure when this happened. It could have happened after Honor's death maybe? There's also another problem: as far as we know, the 10 Heralds are insane. If the unmade were part of the 9 that stayed, Taln shouldn't be insane, but he is. We could say he is insane because he was tortured alone for 4500 years with no rest, but he regained clarity along with Ash in Thaylen City's battle, so probably his madness is magical too. Anyway, sorry for the wall of text and let me hear what you think!
  16. I sadly don't have a copy of RoW in front of me to compare since I just borrowed it from the library, but I'm currently reading back through Warbreaker and thought of a possible interaction between the perfect pitch granted by the second heightening and the way different Shards' investiture works as revealed in RoW. Provided that they knew the Shard's rhythm and pure tone in the first place, I think that being of the second heightening or higher would make someone better at manipulating investiture with sound in the way we saw in RoW, especially Endowment's investiture since being of second heightening would mean you have a lot of her investiture in your system already. I doubt you could steal Breaths from a person with it and might not even be able to move it from one object to another since they seem to be a much 'stickier' type of investiture than stormlight is, but being able to perfectly match different pure tones using perfect pitch would make creating hybrid and anti-investitures significantly easier, once you know how. With that in mind, I think that by the times of Mistborn Ears 3 and 4 (and whatever else is going on in the Cosmere during that time), we're going to see a Nalthis that's become the Cosmere center of meta-Investiture production. I doubt Roshar can keep the secrets of meta-Investiture from getting out indefinitely, and we know the Ghostbloods are working on a way to transport loose investiture between worlds. Anti-investiture would probably still be easier to produce than hybrid-investiture, since it just requires the intent to make it (and a vacuum) rather than an 'emulsifier.' I don't want to go on a whole tangent about it but now I'm also wondering what the second heightening would do for a Seeker. and whether the process for splitting Ettmetal back into Atium and Lerasium has anything to do with tonal manipulation, like a reverse of how Warlight is created
  17. So I’m in the middle of Elantra’s and it seems that taln is suffering an affliction not unlike the hoed, he is in such pain he is essentially insane and like a hoed he constantly repeats a mantra as a coping mechanism and finally, like riino, he is only salvated when being enhanced from investiture, riino was enhanced by the lake and taln was inhanced for a small amount of time by dalinars oath, thoughts?
  18. Calling all D&D fans, especially experienced players and DMs! I've written a Knight Radiant class, inspired by a similar attempt by some 17th Sharders in the past. Theirs wasn't a caster class, though, and I wanted mine to be a half-caster class. So I borrowed a few ideas and then started from scratch. Now I just need you folks to tear it apart for me. Some friends and I are starting a campaign in a few weeks and I'll take that opportunity to do some playtesting. Any edits and power balances you can suggest before then will make the experience that much more valuable. If you can construct a broken multiclass with one of the orders, do it! That way I can take away your fun by fixing the exploit. Suggestions to bring the abilities more in line with standard 5th Edition language are helpful too. Spoilers for all four books, obviously. I completed a full reread as part of the process of writing this, since some of the orders still aren't super deeply explored. Knight Radiant Class Manual.pdf

Here's another fan art of Shallan. I drew her in Veil's outfit this time because I love the red/white! (Painting her hair was really the best part about this...)
  20. I included both mistborn/ feruchemist and the misting and ferring, incase people wanted to focus on one area. If choosing surgebinding, misting, ferring, or twinborn, which powers would you want?
  21. This is one of the crossovers I always want to do =) Other recent stuff Have some Kaladin blushing moments (in my own style): Two states of Kaladin: The OT3: Shadolin: Renarin: Kalak in WoK Prelude:
  22. Hi all! I have never joined a forum and I might be doing this wrong. Forgive me if this is the wrong section to post this but I am desperate and clueless. I have for some time been trying to locate the symbol for Raysium (god metal for Odium). Please point me to the right place to look, as I desperately want Raysium as a tattoo. Thank you all in advance for the help! Daniel
  23. You guys thought we could get through this podcast without Feather developing a crush on the bad guy? Aww, that’s cute. It has just happened. Now I’ve realized he probably dresses completely my style. That’s unfortunate. Alright. Guess we have our trash fave for this book. Ay, welcome to the dumpster. We’re back. We did it everyone! The last part of Edgedancer, and what a trip that was, huh? I struggle to figure out what’s going on with “listening” that everyone keeps telling Lift to do, and come up with a theory before the reveal, just barely. A conversation with some cremlings. Wyndle achieves his dreams after blatantly hinting at it. Also! I didn’t recognize it at the time and Google betrayed me by not bringing it up, but the shardfork/shardspork joke is actually one of mine which I forgot about, since apparently I have the worst memory. But yes, there’s been a “Shardsporks” card in my Cards Against The Cosmere deck since 2015. Ha! I also babble about video games and the Cosmere, which if you want to know more about those ideas, I did actually type them up here because I have no self control. Mistborn is Dishonored and Stormlight is Destiny, I can’t make these things up. Also, I briefly get on my soapbox regarding Renarin’s visions, and if you’re curious what that’s all about, that theory can be found over here. And I think that’s it. Just a reminder, there will not be a Splintercast for Oathbringer, unfortunately. Just want to warn you guys in advance, but yeah, that one’s not going to be happening. This could be the last Splintercast for a little while, but don’t worry, we’ll be doing other fun podcasts over here still! Keep an eye on the news box!
