  1. The Aon Kii means justice. The skybreaker who trains Szeth in OB is called Ki. Do we have a worldhopping Selish surgebinder or is it just Brandon being a troll again.
  2. Alright, I'm usually not a fan of romance in books. But Sanderson does it so well. If Shallan got Adolin, who will Kaladin get? I had this thought in school a few weeks ago, and wanted to see if anyone agrees with me. Kaladin and Lyn. It's far from a perfect match, but I can see it happening. Anyone else?
  3. We know that to become a Knight Radiant, you have to be broken. But Adolin is such a happy, cheerful person. What if his 'breaking' happens when he finds out the truth about how Evi really died? The omission of Adolin's feelings on his mother's death was glaringly obvious....
  4. Hail, fellow 17th shardians! So, I'm not sure if someone has posted this yet, but I realized something as I was skimming through the end of Oathbringer. I looked upon page 1136 and found a quote when Dalinar smashes all of everything together. After he did that a parshwoman asks who he is. He responds with "I am Unity". An important thing to note for this theory is that every shard has its name capitalized. Preservation, Ruin, Harmony, Odium, Honor, Cultivation, etc. Noting this, and seeing how Unity is also capitalized, and how Odium has begun to fear Dalinar, I think that Dalinar will take up the shard, should it exist, of Unity. I dont really know how it would work very well, but maybe Dalinar would take up Honor first, which is more obvious with the fact that he summoned that perpendicularity. I'm not entirely sure, though, if it will be a combination of Honor and something else, or if it is an entirely different shard. That is about as much as i could find regarding this theory. Please leave criticisms or other supporting facts, if you could. That would be nice.
  5. Is Eshonai still alive? She was killed in a non-soul destroying way, and Parsh souls go to Damnation after they die. Given the one year in world gap between SA3 and 4, her flashbacks could then be about Braise.
  6. Not all of you may remember, but before the prologue of WoK, there was a section that took place 4500 years ago. It detailed the abandoning of the Oathpact, the pact forged by the Heralds to defend humanity from the Voidbringers. This moment was never important until now. So why was the section taken from Kalak's point of view? Why not Nale, Jezrien, Ishar, or Taln himself? Is this fact important? Am I over thinking this? Let me know what you think below along with any theories.
  7. OK I give. Clearly there are glyphs in the frame, but I'm at a loss. Anyone worked this out yet?
  8. So are there any theories any ideas on what the 5th ideal bestows. By now it's pretty clear that the fourth ideal gives shardplate. The 5th ideal is the last and hence must be a very significant ideal. So do we have any Wob or any theories on the 5th ideal?
  9. I looked around and I really didn't see this theory so here goes. I really believe that the reason that stone is holy for Shin was a religious way to keep the humans in their spot and not spread to take over Roshar. As on page 1043 the parshmen originally took them in willingly. I am saying they confined them to Shin by telling them not to walk on stone and it became a religious precept. I don't know why they must use soulcast metal. Maybe it was a trade embargo? Thoughts?
  10. Anyone else getting the feeling that Cultivation is setting things up so that the ten main characters are going to end up being her heralds now and not just mere Radiants in order to renew the Oathpact. I mean she has taken a direct hand with two of them maybe even more. I also so think that the "immortal words" is not just a fancy name.
  11. People have commented that Shallan wearing a sapphire dress was somehow a subconscious desire to be with Kaladin instead of Adolin. They cite the color of the dress as evidence, as the traditional color of a wedding dress is red (as we learn from Navani earlier int he book). The traditional Alethi wedding color is red. Shallan isn't Alethi, she's Veden. For all we know, sapphire is a good and traditional Veden wedding color. We also know that blue is a color of house Kholin, so it could be in deference to the house she was joining. My wife would like to add that Shallan is a redhead. Apparently, redheads don't look good in red clothing. So apparently, even if red was the appropriate color, that would be a good reason not to wear it. (I am trusting her expertise on fashion)
  12. So, we have seen at least a few Worldhoppers in Stormlight Archive now, and as my comments elsewhere demonstrate, I don't think they distract at all. However they do ask a few questions, ones with logical possible answers and I suspect will be answered, but still. How are they speaking Alethi? Have they learnt the tongue, and how? Or can some of them manipulate Connection? Have instant translation devices? For Azure and Zahel the obvious explanation to me is that (though it doesn't matter when there aren't as many languages on Nalthis, that we have seen at least), a Heightening gives the ability to speak and understand any language
