I basically default to writing male characters mainly because im not great at writing female characters at this point

though my way of kings prime equivalent has more female mcs than male

idk, sometimes you just have to get uncomfortable even if the character isn’t compelling or convincing, and just practice.

Okay. So, you lived as a guy for most of your life. You’re going to have a lot of similar tendencies with the less conscious stuff like writing. So what? If you enjoy writing female characters more, when you notice you’ve made a character male you’d rather be female… just retcon it! It’s your story, you literally have 100% authority over it (That’s why you’re called the author). And as you make that more conscious, you’re going to start defaulting to female, probably. I don’t see what the problem is.
