My opponent states that school makes you smarter. Smarter is defined as an increase of intelligence. Intelligence is defined as the ability to acquire knowledge and skills. According to several studies, intelligence does not change significantly over one’s lifetime, regardless of schooling. Schooling teaches information, and as such makes one more knowledgeable. This is completely unrelated to intelligence and being “smarter”. Thus school does not make you smarter.

School teaches information, not necessarily the ability to use it.
