And that was an awesome catch on Radiant wearing the Shardplate. I thought it was just an illusion at first, but she was Radiant when Jasnah came looking for her. As for the Shalash is a Dustbringer theory, I'll make a note of it.

Also, if Shalash was a Dustbringer, she wouldn't have needed a Shardblade in WoKs. Division is their primary Surge, so she would have access to it after the 1st oath. I doubt anything short of WoB would convince me at this point. It is an interesting theory though, that Heralds can join other Orders.

I'm not convinced. The Stormfather didn't know about Venli and didn't say anything specific except, "Look, Heralds!" Also, the quote about her saying she should get a Shardblade works against this theory in my opinion. If she had over 4000 years to Bond a spren and hasn't sworn at least 2 or 3 oaths, then she hasn't sworn any imo. Nale has sworn all 5. I just don't think this argument is solid enough.

I don't think that the Stormfather is commenting on Dalinars line of thought. I think he was bringing up another topic which he thought was important. I don't recall it saying anything about her being a Dustbringer. Could you point me to a quote in the book or something?

Rider of Storms, I thought it was confirmed that Ash was actually Shalash, Herald of Lightweavers. I also had Vathah in there as a squire. It was never stated that he swore even the 1st oath, just that he could draw Stormlight. Also added notes for Elhokar, Hoid and Heleran. As far as Lightspren go, I need to research that, but I think its after Jasnah return and they start studying the Radiant spren. Also, Shoots, it is suspected that the daughter of the captain of the Honorsprens ship is Timbre, who Bonded Venli. I probably need something a bit more concrete.

So, I've been going through these posts and haven't yet seen an updated list of the Knights Radiant and what we know of them. So I've made the attempt if theres another, or someone has other info that I didn't collect, I would love to hear about it. We currently know 10-13 out of 37 Oaths, counting the 1st Oath as 1 instead of 10 and not counting truths, which vary. Also taking into account certain theories regards spoken oaths. The Oaths/Ideals of the Knights Radiant tend to go in this type of order. 1st Oath - Fortifies bond with spren, one begins the path towards Knight Radiant. 2nd Oath - Not yet Radiant, but already Surgebinder fully bonded to spren. 3nd Oath - Become a Knight Radiant and receive your Shardblade for most Orders. 4th Oath - This is where most Knights Radiant end their progress, they possibly receive Shardplate and increase in powers on this level. 5th Oath - Ultimate Oath, only a few Knights Radiant reach this Oath, it's about becoming one with what your Order represents . Bondsmiths - I will Unite - These Knights use the Tension and Adhesion Surges and follow the Herald Ishar. There can only be 3 a time as they Bond the Siblings. The Stormfather of course, and possibly the Nightwatcher and Cusicesh. Gloryspren are also associated with Bondsmiths. Known Oaths - 1. Life before death, strength before weakness, journey before destination. 2. I will unite instead of divide. i will bring men together. 3. I will take responsibility for what I have done. It is suspected that Elhokar was about to Bond a Cryptic, which eventually left with Hoid. Elsecallers - I will reach my potential - These Knights use the Transformation and Transportation Surges and follow the Herald Battar. They Bond Inkspren. Logicspren are also associated with Elsecallers. Known Oaths - 1. Life before death, strength before weakness, journey before destination. All other Ideals still unknown. It is not known what spren Truthwatchers Bond, but it is stated in chapter 53 on page 525 of OB that their spren look like light on a surface after it reflects through something crystalline. It is currently unknown which other spren are associated with this Order. Known Oaths - 1. Life before death, strength before weakness, journey before destination. Other oaths still unknown. Known Truthwatchers - Renarin Kholin. Bonded to Glys, a corrupted spren. His progression is currently unknown. He is technically only half Truthwatcher, the other half being from the Voidbinder side. Also, the orphanage caretaker Lift met(Called the Stump, courtesy of Rider of the Storms.) is supposed to be a Truthwatcher. It is confirmed by WoB that Ym would have been a Truthwatcher(Info courtesy of Aleksiel). Skybreakers - I will seek Justice - These Knights use the Gravitation and Division Surges and follow the Herald Nale. They Bond Highspren. It is currently unknown which other spren are associated with this Order. Known Oaths - 1. The Ideal of Radiance. Life before death, strength before weakness, journey before destination. 2. The second oath is the Ideal of Justice, an oath to seek and administer justice. They must Bond a spren before swearing the 3rd Ideal. 3. The 3rd oath is the Ideal of Dedication. They dedicate themselves to a cause or a person. This is where they learn Division. 4. The 4th is the Ideal of Crusade. They must choose a personal quest and complete it to the satisfaction of their spren. 5. The Ideal of Law. They must become law. Become truth. Known Skybreakers - The Herald Nale. His spren is currently unknown. He has sworn the 5th Ideal. Szeth. His spren is currently unknown. He has sworn the 3rd ideal. There is a full Order of perhaps a hundred Skybreakers, many who have sworn the 3rd and 4th Ideals, but none save Nale the 5th. Shallans brother Heleran was a member of the Skybreakers, but probably hadn't sworn the 2nd oath due to not having a living Shardblade of his own. Killing Amaram was probably his mission which would have allowed him to swear the 2nd. Dustbringers - I will seek self-mastery - These Knights prefer the term 'Releasers' and use the Division and Abrasion Surges and follow the Herald Chanarach. It is hinted that Dustbringers Bond Ashspren(Info courtesy of psc92). It is suspected that firespren are also associated with this Order. Known Oaths - 1. I had a few questions/observations after reading this. 1. I know Hoid is sort of like a Yolish Lightweaver already, but then why did he choose to seek out a Cryptic to Bond? Was it the only type he could Bond, or do the Lightweaver surges offer more than what he could already do? It would make sense to me to acquire a completely different skill set, like Windrunner or Edgedancer, to expand his arsenal. 2. Tien being a Lightweaver makes sense. He shares a lot of similarity to Shallan. I saw someone mention here that he brought the smiles to his family, just as Shallan had to. Also, people asked what was so bad about his life? Well, for starters his dad is the town doctor. Tiens probably seen 10x the death as other kids his age. Plus hes got a moody, self absorbed older brother. And he saw himself as baggage since Kalladin was already their dads apprentice and the one they were going to send to school. Tien wouldn't have been jealous, but I'm sure he felt left out. He barely got an apprenticeship at all and his boss didn't care much for his work, despite his talent. I don't think his life was that bad, but its all about perception really, and I can see how he could have been broken. My question here is, if Tien was a Lightweaver, then how come Syl remembers him? 3. 6 yr old Shallan, already a Surgebinder on her way to Radiancy...how could she be broken? Well, her Mom was basically in a cult and I don't think the dad suddenly became a monster because of what happened. I think it was there, caged inside already. I'm sure the family loved him still, but I'm also sure the feared him. No question here, just a few observations 4. Also, that explains why Elhokar saw Cryptics in the mirror! They wanted to Bond him!!! Mind. Blown.

I asked for an oath from the book, preferably Bondsmith or Windrunner. He gave me the actual oath, probably because I was vague. It had me guessing whos oath it would be the whole book! It actually lined up with not only Dalinars storyline, but Kaladins and Shallans too. By giving it to me, he threw me a real curveball lol.

1. I actually did not know that. Thank you. Though it should still be as fast as Kaladin though, for Jasnah at least. 2. I don't know. They move a lot faster than a regular human could. Probably not as fast as Kaladin of course... 3. Another thing I missed! 4. That would definitely happen in normal times, but this is a Desolation. I don't think they will throw away a good warrior. Make him pay yes. I stand by my original theory.

1. Kaladin isn't the only one who can make the trip, or even the best choice. We're forgetting that in the Cognitive realm, you can travel vast distances instantaneously. Any Radiant who can access Shadesmar could make the trip in a matter of minutes. Jasnah could do it easily, though she will be in Kholinar at some point. Shallan can do it, but Jasnah asked her to wait for training. Shallan thinks Jasnah is dead though, so might make the attempt... 2. I think the Everstorm is only awakening the parshmen. They become Parshendi the first time through. In WoR they did some sort of ritual and Bonded with the red spren to become Stormform didn't they? Of course, I think most of those were wiped out in the battle, but I'm sure some got away. These are probably leading the others and working to make other Stormforms. 3. Dalinar said the Honorblade might work. He doesn't know. Those swords are a lot different. The difference between a Shardblade and a Radiant blade is that the spren is alive. The Bond is in effect. Honorblades allow Stormlight and Lashings and stuff, but no Bond, no spren. 4. I think Dalinar is going to take a new path. One similar to the Warlord path, but tempered with his new personality and outlook. And maybe Taravingian might actually help. Though if that happens, I think he'll get caught and he won't be forgiven. Adolin on the other hand, I think will admit that he killed Sadeas to his father. The princedom will go to Renarin, he'll lose his Plate and Blade and he'll serve some jail time., Thats it.

It makes sense. The Bond was never one sided. Syl mainly seems to understand and remember more. Plus becoming a Shardblade is probably the spren side of the Bond. If Shardplate is another form, the Sprensquire ability, then I'm excited to see what else spren gain from the Bond.

If the Almighty was still around when the Heralds abandoned their posts....did their desertion weaken Honor and allow Odium to slay him?

Wow...I haven't felt like such a newb in years. I like the point Ari brings up about Hoid in WoK. It would have to be something new, something different. Of course, the Shards influence their Vessels over time, so over time, some of those differences might fade.

Alright, I just finished a reread of Words of Radiance and the last page got me thinking. Wit and Jasnah are speaking and Wit(Hoid) asks her "You're so convinced that there is no God." She started to reply about the Almighty and he cut her off saying "I don't mean the Almighty. Tanavast was a fine enough fellow--bought me drinks once--but he was not God." . Then I thought about the conversation Dalinar had just had with the Stormfather where he referred to the Almightys visions and spoke of a Champion who could fight a God. Well, from Mistborn, we saw that in order to fight a God, you pretty much have to BE a God. And when a God dies, their powers can be absorbed. Splinters can be reunited, as we saw with Sazed. I heard somewhere that Odium chose not to take up Slivers which he could have. Maybe when the Slivers or whatever they are called are all absorbed by one person, Adonalsium will be reborn. I'm thinking the overall scheme of the Cosmere is the new Honor teaming up with Sazed and others Gods and eventually reforming the one true God. What do you guys think?

If the Honorblades granted the powers of the different orders of the Knights Radiant, then what made them so special? Syl even says that someone using the Honorblades uses Stormlight much more quickly than Kaladin, who is not even a full Radiant. So, I was thinking, what if they were Cognitive travelers who had powers from their home planet. Like a Mistborn Herald lol. Perhaps they can even fuel their lashes with metals. I know, its a stretch, but there is definitely something up with them. I would love to hear some ideas about this. If this has been discussed previously, would someone please direct me to the post?
