Ugh... So. Many. Midterms. Kobold, nice fade and sandman ponies. I can feel the disdain radiating off of him. Mail-mi, I like Bus Driver. fear not, quicksilver appreciates his talents. He may yet see combat.
-
"I'm sure a fine fellow like yourself has a few rib-ticklers to share." Fade remained standing. "I want to be brought up to speed. I want to know a brief history of this so called empire, as well as a sketch of the epics and humans, including powers. I want a reason to stay. The boy may be entranced by the dinosaurs, but I need facts and figures. Your eyes don't miss much, so I know you've got a good grasp of the situation. Convince me to stay, and I might tell you something interesting."

Fade post is up. Nathan is free to participate.

Fade walked quickly through the museum, taking in details and memorizing the layout. This place was something else. He had just about finished surveying the building when he heard the explosions. He Faded and ran straight towards the source of the noise, ignoring any wall or dinosaurs that got in his way. He arrived in time to watch that girl with the orbs have a "discussion" with that purple fella and another Epic he hadn't met before. Fade's hackles rose. His instincts were telling him this was not someone to turn your back on. His fingers itched for his 1911, but he forced himself to stay in control. Ever since that cursed star had appeared, his violent tendencies had grown, at times making him dangerously unstable. Max. Focus on Max. He quickly glanced around the room to make sure Maximilian was safe and saw him talking to a strange character with bagpipes and a unicycle. Well, that would occupy Max for a while. He turned to the rooms other occupants. He noticed that Lightwards character had left, as well as some of the other epics. He needed to find out what was going on. He saw the magician that had brought them here and decided he could provide useful information. He strode over to where the man was talking to a nervous looking fellow in a large coat. Fade didn't waste time with pleasantries, and spoke to the magician with his deep, gravelly voice "You, magician. I need a word."

That's a good point. He does tend to notice explosions. Sounds like Aldo is about to have a substantially less pleasant conversation. Fade doesn't get down to brass tacks, he only converses in brass tacks.

I could contribute Deathrattle and Graverobber, or just one of them.

Just another thought, what if Big Al joined the Empire of Light? This would give Lightwards and endless supply of genetically altered pig warriors!(and chicken as well, if the mcmuffins have egg) Trying to figure out where to put another Fade or Sandman post. Not really sure what's on the Empire's immediate agenda right now. Suggestions?

Wouldn't it be ironic if Upgrade accidentally got killed during the MEE attack? They would just assume he was some random henchman and shoot the most wanted epic in the city. Came up with another Epic for MEE Duct-tape: He a tape-mancer, capable of creating and controlling duct tape. Partner in crime to the Mad Ballooner.

We'd love to conduct some research...

Ba-dum-tissssssh! Hemalurgy puns never get old. Probably intent, seeing how important it is in Hemalurgy.

Or the knee. I thought about this too, but in reality crafting firearms that shoot a substance other than metal would be extremely expensive and not necessarily effective. Also keep in mind, he's only one Epic, and he doesn't go into combat regularly. He and his crew don't just attack Vondra's empire, that would be counter productive. They smuggle banned items into the city, run a black market, steal what they need(or want), and generally keep an eye on Vondra and his goons. Every now and then they'll do some damage, but they try to keep it to a minimum so Vondra can't analyze their powers too much. Totally fine with me. Let's show those stuck-up jerks they're not the only one wit' powahs!. I think I'll give Dodgeball two uzi's and some grenades and Growthspurt a rifle(which he'll have shortened to a pistol) and sword. I've been waiting for a combat situation to put these guys in. Just a thought, what if refill carried a bunch of bottles with a drop or two of liquor in them and a wick. He can essentially carry a bunch of Molotov cocktails with him, but he doesn't have to worry about extra weight or dropping them. Easy, they'll be joined by, BALLOON MAN!!! This extraordinary Epic can create balloons out of thin air! He can fill them with anything, helium, air, water, acid, you name it! From small party balloons to weather balloons, size is no object! He can even maniulate the strings attached to the balloons! He can make them thicker than an anaconda or thinner than a piece of sting! He can also make balloon animals which come to life and obey him!(But one prick of a needle and BANG! no more balloon animal) He is, BALLOON MAAAAAAAN!!!!! Seriously though, can I make this guy? I think I'll call him the Mad Ballooner. I think Fade would put a stop to this, for secretive, back-story reasons.

Granted. It eats everyone you love instead. I wish for an unlimited supply of peppermints to eat. -

Granted, but you get your legs bitten off by a chasmfiend after three days. I wish to possess the greatest hat collection in the world. -
But of course we have cake. Recently developed in our spikelabs experimental bakeries, we can make almost every kind. Except Lemon Bunt Cakes for some reason. We think it's an alloy issue...
-
Definitely. Quicksilver is ruthless, but in an efficient sort of way. He also knows if you're too cruel people go to greater lengths to destroy you.
-
I wrote it thinking that the attack on the outpost had been going on for some time, giving Vondra's men time to respond. He had instructed Aura not to signal him until she was sure that reinforcements were on their way. Sure, Backtrack could definitely do that. Quicksilver would have taken a round-about way to return. He also would thinking about Vondra's possible response. Quicksilver admires Vondra's ability to command and organize, especially since he's a vanilla. But Quicksilver is fairly confident that he could crush his empire if needed, so there is some contempt. However, he is content to let Vondra rule because that makes him the target for wandering Epics, instead of Quicksilver and Co. Plus, running a crime ring is fun, running an entire city is boring.
-
Just finished the raid. Kobold, it's up to you how soon Vondra finds out about the attack on the command post. I assume Tulir and you might want to write some scenes for the outpost attack first. Let me know if you want me to change anything with the scene.

Quicksilver Surveyed the city below him impassively. He stood atop one of the taller buildings, waiting for Aura's signal. Suddenly, there was a bright flare of color that rose near the outskirts of the city. Quicksilver smiled beneath his mask, excitement rising within him. The operation had started. His men would be moving now. Fritz would get them through the check points by creating isolated Disruptions while Shatterblast would eliminate any security personal they encountered. 2 minutes in, they would have reached the rear entry point. Fritz would get them in and they would progress to the power room where they would destroy generators and cut off the power for the base. At 4 minutes Fritz would be throwing up a large disruption bubble, eliminating any possibilities of radioing for help. Now it was his turn. He ran to the edge of the building and jumped off. Instantly his metal reserves reacted, swirling into action and forming frame around his body. The metal attached to his coat and stretched it taunt, forming what was essentially a wingsuit. While not as effective or maneuverable as the ones used by base jumpers, this enabled his to change his vertical fall into a diagonal dive. He flew straight towards the building, moving faster and faster as he shot through the air. At the last moment, the frame around him liquefied and flowed down his arm, transforming into a shield large enough to cover him. He smashed through the wall, his body strengthened by the armor beneath his clothes and created a small crater. He had crushed three people with his landing, killing two instantly and leaving the other badly maimed. The rest of the occupants of the corridor he had landed in were silent, frozen with terror. Slowly, Quicksilver stood as the metal poured out of his sleeves like silver water. He laughed, "Missed me?" The metal sprang to life, shooting out like snakes at those unfortunate enough to be in the hallway. Within seconds they had ripped through every person in sight, leaving bloody holes in their torsos. Not a soul had survived. Quicksilver surveyed his handiwork then casually punched the wall. It shattered, but this time there was cries of alarm. He stepped through the newly created opening, and was shot three times in the face. This accomplished nothing. As soon as the lead touched the silver mask, they liquefied and were absorbed. Quicksilver looked at the offending party. "Is that all?" At this point everyone with a firearm opened up on him. They lit him up, emptying their magazines in a panicked frenzy. Inevitably, they ran out of ammo. Quicksilver looked around the room "Now it's my turn." He dashed forward as his hands became blades. He tore into them, stabbing, slicing and decapitating with ruthless efficiency. They tried to run, to flee this creature of death and destruction, but there was no escape. His hands morphed into a single, massive battleaxe which he used to bisect three guards at a time. They shifted into clawed hands as he eviscerated two unfortunate officers. Someone made it to the door, but was struck down by a tendril of silver that shot across the room. Within the space of three minutes nearly everyone had died. One lone officer remained, paralyzed with fear. Quicksilver walked slowly across the room, watching the man's terror build in his eyes. He lowered his face to be level with the man and stared with his featureless visage. "You are going to take a message to Vondra. Inform him that the recent assassinations have displeased me. He has let his empire go to his head, and I did this to remind his he is not singular when it comes to power. I am happy to let him keep his little kingdom, but if he takes liberties with me, he shall know suffering." AS he spoke the last part, he reached down and cut off the guards hands. The man screamed, but his suffering was not over. Liquid metal flowed over the bleeding stumps and sealed the wounds. On the end of each hand there was a raised symbol of a sword slightly unsheathed. "This was a lesson. Learn from your mistakes or repeat them. My response shall not change." He turned away from the crying creature on the floor he formed a massive hammer with one of the tendrils and pounded it on the floor three times, signalling his men it was time to leave. Then he left the way he had come. Fritz would have lowered the Disruption by now, so he radioed Aura. "Operation completed. Exit situation." He disappeared into the streets, fading into the city as he had done countless times before. This had been a good day.

Sure, Will is welcome to join the Crew. Question about Ironmonger. You say he can telekinetically control metals, is there a weight limit or something? For example, Quicksilver has to be either touching the metal or touching something that's touching the metal. I'm trying to figure out how their powers would interact.

Nightwatcher Boon/Bane (Game)

Granted, but you have to wear that dorky yellow costume he wore when he first started. And the mob will kill your family. I wish that I could convince anyone I spoke to to give me enough money to buy a sandwich. -
Got a Deathrattle post up. There may or may not be references to a certain walkway.

The alley was dark. There was a new moon tonight, but no stars visible. Dark clouds covered the sky, casting the world in shadow. A man was walking home, hunching against the wind. As he was passing by the alley, he thought he heard something rattling in the darkness. He paused, searching the impenetrable blackness for a sign of motion. All he could see was a rusty trashcan and a discarded package of cookies. He was turning to go when he heard a rasping groan. He turned back, just in time to see the black chain snake out of the alley and soil around his throat. It was so cold it burned. He tried to scream, but the only sound that came out was a ragged gasp. He reached for his phone, but another chain shot out of the darkness and coiled around his arm. A tall silhouette emerged from the darkness, looking like a grey reaper of death. The face was hidden within the recesses of the hood, and the chains holding the man came from under the hem of the robe. The chains lifted the man, bringing him close to the dark figure's face. The creature emitted another rasping moan as it stared at it's prey. Suddenly it spoke, it's voice colder the the marble floors of a mortuary. "Any last words?" The chains loosened and the man screamed. The figure roared angrily and the chains began to tighten. Harder and harder they squeezed. The mad writhed and screamed silently, grasping at the chains that were crushing the life out of him. The chains wrenched suddenly, and the man's neck snapped. His limp body fell to the floor. Deathrattle ignored the corpse of his victim, turning to go. Suddenly, he was no longer in the alley. He was in a different place. It was still night, but the clouds were gone and the moon shone down on a town in chaos. Deathrattle didn't know where he was or how he got there. He roared with rage, sending it echoing though the town. He was not amused.

Well, he has to match Vondra, so I made sure to lay the Badchull Sauce on thickly.

And it's up! Man, I'm looking forward to writing for this guy.
