  1. Could be possible, but it was never mentioned. Not a very solid theory i agree. But if it turns out to be true be sure I'll be there to brag about it.
  2. Nohadon is described as having dark hair and short beard which came to a point, tarah never appeared in the book herself. Although you people are probably roght and I'm reading too much into it, it just seemed too odd to me that a person with those qualifications is not mentioned again. He's probably like Liss and will appear later.
  3. I don't think the judge was bribed, but she didn't like his method dueling so she was probably biased against him. Adolin didn't break any rules, but he broke dueling conventions, so the judge was willing to let the duel go on as long as no actual rules were broken. Tit for tat i guess.
  4. He is a possible Herald because there is no physical description at all, even liss's gaurd is given some kind of description. every new character which is introduced is given some form of description. He is totally ignored, and i think the reason for it maybe that there something special about him that brandon didn't want to clue us on. And when he is introduced later we will come back to this chapter to think 'ohh! He is introduced so far back, i never thought he would be a Herald'
  5. He's mentioned in the words of radiance prologue, he's standing with gavilar when jasnah runs into him and amaram talking.
  6. I don't think anyone has mentioned this on the forums, but i think Tearim is a very good candidate for a Herald or maybe a worlhopper. Tearim is described as the captain of the Kings gaurd, one of the best duelists in the world, whom gavilar trusts with his shardplate. And that's it. No physical description at all, no short/tall, no beard/clean face, hair colour or even eye colour which is pretty important. He is not even noted in the same chapter again even by jasnah who is very perceptive except when Gavilar motions him to follow him. He is not mentioned anywhere else in the two books, not even in relation to the attack on gavilar, which is strange because he is the captain of the Kings gaurd, his sole job is to protect the king, dalinar blames himself and sadeas for gavilar's murder but not him who was actually responsible for him. And why is he not on the shattered Plains? It can be argued that he is with the Queen, but i don't think so, because Elhokar is so paranoid, he wouldn't keep such a person away from him. He could have been executed/exiled/jailed, or he could have resigned but both of these should also have been mentioned at least by Elhokar. He is not among the sharbearers of the army, he didn't have shards of his own, but dalinar gave the first shardplate and blade he won to Elhokar to award to most deserving person, who is more deserving than one of the best duelists in the world? And he is in the Kings camp so no highprince gains anything. This seems more strange in a book where even the most unimportant characters who's sole job is to say an unimportant comment or two or die (most of whom i kept noting down as a Herald candidate), is given some kind of description. It seems like if he were mentioned more or given a description of, we may find clues About him being a Herald so brandon just sidelined him. Even if not a Herald at least an anomaly. Maybe I'm reading too much into it and just feel sad for him for being sidelined. maybe he's like shinpachi(from gintama) whom characters and readers ignore alike. But i don't think brandon would do that. Sorry if too long over silly topic. Thoughts? Edit: actually he is mentioned one time more when jasnah decides the man in shardplate is gavilar not tearim. Also why is that?
  7. “Though I was due for dinner in Veden City that night, I insisted upon visiting Kholinar to speak with Tivbet. The tariffs through Urithiru were growing quite unreasonable. By then, the so-called Radiants had already begun to show their true nature.” —Following the firing of the original Palanaeum, only one page of Terxim’s autobiography remained, and this is the only line of any use to me. From chapter 46 child of tanavast, WoK So the original Palanaeum (the books in it at least) probably burned down during the heirocracy, and was rebuilt
  8. Is the everstorm more powerful than normal highstorms? Because normal highstorm loses much of it's strength by the time it reaches shinovar and totally breaks over the mountain range there. But in this excerpt we see the everstorm blowing away roofs, even though alethkar is all the way in the east, and it had to cross the shin mountain range.
  9. Since Odium wants to be the only shard, and Cultivation is still alive, wouldn't Odium's next goal be to kill Cultivation's holder and splinter it?
  10. I agree on the point that after killing Sadeas, he won't attract skybreaker spren (highspren?). But if he had already attracted his spren before the killing, then I still think he can be a skybreaker & by redeeming himself, or accepting his actions as wrong & telling Dalinar about his actions, which is the right thing to do. Skybreakers are obsessed with the law. But i think they are more about upholding the law. What Nalan is doing is twisting the law & taking advantage of it for his own gains. I think it's in Nalan's nature to follow the Laws, but he's gone kind of crazy & thus can't be trusted as an example of a true skybreaker. He also doesn't have any spren to keep check on him. I am aware of the WoB. But i don't think there are any Skybreakers alive who will frown upon his becoming one. Nalan's group most probably doesn't have any KR given that he generally finds a way to kill all surgebinders. I interpreted the WoB as, there are more than one order who won't have a problem with Adolins actions, but that doesn't necessarily mean that he has the attributes to be one of them. And Becoming a Skybreaker after an inner conflictwill be more interesting. Historically the Windrunners & Skybreakers didn't get along. With the progress of the love triangle, there will definitely be tension between Kaladin & Adolin. So there can be something there. But just in case he isn't a Skybreaker, I support the spren reviving theory.
  11. I think Adolin will Be a skybreaker. It is known that skybreakers have an innate ability to distinguish right from wrong. adolin shows this three times, with Sadeas, Kaladin & Amaram. He instinctively knows that Sadeas & Amaram are not as they seem to be, and he knows that Kaladin is hiding something. It can be said that shallan was hiding something too, but she was doing it on purpose while what kaladin was doing was not really working in his or anybody's favor. The attributes of skybreakers are just and confident. I think Adolin is one of the most confident character we have seen. He is smart but not particularly intelligent, and it's the people with more intelligence & knowledge who are more doubtful (thus less confident). While he broke the law when he murdered sadeas, but Kaladin strayed from his path too. And he hasn't formed a bond yet (not a complete one anyways), so it's not that big a deal. Maybe he will realise what he did was unjust which in turn will attract a spren. Also, we can't take Nalan as an example of a true skybreaker, as his main goal is killing surgebinders based on small crimes which is rather unjust. And Shallan's attribute is honest, while she is pretty good with lies, which attracted pattern in the first place. As for him being a dustbringer, i don't see any evidence which supports this. he's not especially Brave or Obedient. Those can be said for Kaladin too (he jumped into the arena to save Renarin and Adolin which was brave, & he follows orders as much as Adolin). But Szeth, who was selected by the Skybreakers, seems more Obedient than just, he Obeys, he breaks many many rules while doing so too. He seems more of a dustbringer than Adolin. Maybe Nalan just needed someone to kill a lot of people. And the bond he was talking about was his bond with the oathstone rather than the honorblade (i don't remember the scene clearly so not sure). Szeth will probably end up doing the same thing as before, only instead of oathstone he will follow his God. That was a little off topic, but i thought of it while i was writing. P.S - Adolin also stayed in prison with Kaladin Because what happened was not right(just), that only Kaladin be jailed. or he shouldn't have been imprisoned in the first place so he was protessting or something.
