  1. I am somewhat concerned with the high number of Windrunner Ideals. The more oaths that he swears, the more it limits his options of behavior or to develop massive Catch 22 problems. Not only that, it gets even worse when you add in other KR types, who swear entirely different KR oaths. Skybreakers, and Lightweavers are the most obvious KRs with potential conflicts. Of these Lightweavers seem the most flexible and may be able to work around the issues. But Windrunners and Skybreakers seem directly in conflict, as the Windrunners want to protect everyone, but the Skybreakers want to "punnish" everyone according to the "Local Laws" which can vary enormously. If they pass a law that says "nose picking" is a capital offense, then would go out & try to enforce it without any thought of whether the Law is right. Do we have any clarification (WoB or anything) on this?
  2. What??? Please provide a reference for this if you can. I am looking & have not seen any such occurrence. But it would not be the first time (or 100th time) I missed something.
  3. i do not think so, but have hot read all of those so i could easily be wrong. But his descriptions of them in the mirror and from the corner of his eyes, were dead on with the Cryptics. So i would be very shocked if it was not.
  4. I'm not sure what you are saying here. If you mean that it helped "solidify" the link and bring them into immediate concious interaction - then I agree completely. They are obviously working together from that point on. But I do think that there was a "cost" to her method. That it "injured" him in a way. He is no longer able to "disappear" and he immediately went extreemely "dumb" at that point. Now he has/is recovering remarkably fast and it is much better for them to actually be working together. I just wonder what the full effect was on him.
  5. I still have hopes for Moash. He already realizes that he has been played for a fool. I hope that he links up with Kal, & they work out a way for him to stay "undercover", to find out all about Mr Ts group. The KRs nood to know about all these counterproductive groups like Mr T & the Ghostbloods and Skybreakers. +++?
  6. yes, I agree. I want him to "grow" his eye back as well. Can't wait to see if the bridgmen that got Shard dead cuts & limbs, get them back!!! Especially, the one that lost both legs!
  7. Pattern has been around a LONG time and did not seem "stupid" on her first visit to Shadesmar, or anywhere as he was appearing/following her about. But when she drew him, like the sceintists, it seemed to "lock" him in the world & made him "stupid". Is that more to blame for his "loss" of knowledge, than the "transition" to the physical realm? Because he had many years to recover & learn after the initial transition from when she pre 11 years old.
  8. Excellent, point on Rlain! I am anxious to see what happens with him, Eshonai & the hiding/escape Listeners. I was wondering if her fall into the chasm will give the "good" spren that is following her a chance to push out the bad one?
  9. So from WoK/WoR we know that Elhokar was seeing a Cryptic before Kal took over guard duty. Will his Spren come back? (I think yes) Now that he is at Urithiru with Shallan will that bring it back or will he see Pattern (I think Probably-finally) & will that trigger her to tell him about Cryptics and to help him "make/finish" the connection? What "broke" him? His fathers death? His wife's infedelity? His not true son? What are his lies/truths?
  10. I think that Both possabilities could fit what we know, from jasna's POV. They also fit with what we saw from Shallan's POVs in her WoK POVs, her drawings showed multiple Patternheads following her, not just one. The same with the King. He was seeing multiple symbolhead's in mirrors and from the corner of his eyes.
  11. Can anyone correlate the "Everyone knows I like to set things on fire and watch them burn." comment to another character in BS books? Was there any reference to this charictistic in the WoK. It has to be some kind of clue, but I do not remember anything from his other books that would seem to match. But other than Mistborn and SA, I only read most the others only once. There are a couple that I have not gotten to yet though.
  12. OK, we know that some of Kal's bridgemen and The Lopen have begin "glowing" at the end of WoR. I wonder how far will that go? Will he get All the bridgemen or just all/most of Bridge 4? What all will they get from the Stormlight? Healing, extra speed, strength, stamina? Do they only glow when he is holding massive amounts of Stormlight? or even just a little? Does their bond to him only give them Stormlight only from him? Or does it give them the ability to draw from spheres that they are actually carrying.spheres? That might explain why only a few of them lit up - they were the only ones carrying spheres? Can they also feed him Stormlight over the bond? Was the Lopen POV allowing him to draw Stormlight just part of his bond to Kal? Or was it his own bond to a new Spren? If Lopen is a proto KR, what group will he be? Did Stormfather "open" the gates to the other Honor Spren? How many more bridgemen will become KR? SO MANY QUESTIONS - SO LONG TO WAIT!!!!!
  13. I can understand how you might take it that way. I don't, but I can see your point on it. Myself I see it like her other comment that she made in another POV, where she said "I hate logic" She had tried everything else. Really gone way beyond normal in trying to find a different solution to save everyone else from her psycho father, who she did love and wanted to help as well. But there was no other way at that point, as he was activly killing her step-mother and was beating her brother to death. She was faced with the only Logical choice. Her father was going to kill everyone except her. So she had to do what she did. I hope that BS gives a couple more "Flashback" POVs to fill in what broke her to begin with, and her first saying the "Words/Ideals" Also, now that she had her last WoR POV, does she get her Shardplate? Can't wait to see!!!
  14. The phrasing is a little weird, but that's exactly what he said. But it's clear enough to mean that Relis heard the sword-spren screaming because Kaladin was touching the blade. Well, if that is what BS says, then I certianly can't say different. My only issue with it from the beginning was that Relis' words just do not match that senario. -- "What is it? What is it! No, I didn't kill you!" & make him run screaming from the arena. It does not make sense like that. Only if he is talking to his Spren or an Awakening blade. So I guess that I will just take it as meaning that, when the event occured, he was not thinking or speaking completely coherently. Which happens to people all the time in real life, so why should it not in a story. That said. It really makes Renarin look a whole LOT stronger, fighting to use the blade for 20+ minutes while hearing the Screaming. When Relis could not stand it for 2-3 seconds and runs off screaming. Renarin is the man!!
  15. I'd like to add, that the "eleventh lamp represent the Tranquiline Halls" is more likely the lockout triger to keep it from working. I do not know if it has to be removed or what. The other 2 locations did not have the eleventh lamp.
  16. A little off subject, I think that on her survival there is another possibility. Who else do we know of that fell hundreds of feet and survived? Only 2 proto KRs. They mostly drained all the spheres that they had on them, and were quite a bit further along as KRs. But Rysn also may not have had that many spheres on her. There is no certainty of course. Especially, since we don't get a follow up POV. The same goes for the Larkin. I can't wait to see a follow up POV to see if it "gathers Stormlight" & brings it to her? Or if she shows some control over it like the super horses.
  17. I do not have an exact quote here - if you have the book on you please add it (Actually them because I'm sure several spots were involved). I do not agree with this, because she said that when she came, other spren were coming as well because they all felt the need. Apparently, due to the current approaching Desolution. It obviously could not be when the KR were formed, because there were many Honorspren then. And she specifically said that when she came, she was the only Honorspren and she disobeyed Stormfather. So it is pretty certain that she first bonded someone else, then they died (Went Dumb again) and then found Kal.
  18. My feeling is that Szeth's first assignment needs to be Nalan. Because I am sure that Nalan was even more of an accomplas to the murder of Azi Prime Gawk than Ym was as a delivery boy of the wine. I am sure that killing the Prim is against the law, and as Gawk is Prime and has always been Prime it was surely the worst level of murder in the country. It matters not that Gawk was resurrected. Murder is Murder. Now we need to find a way for Szeth to learn of his master's unlawful behavior. Or maybe Nalan will do the deed himself after the new Azi Prime puts out some wanted posters for him.
  19. OK, at the point that Nin recruted Szeth, it is obvious that it is too late to stop the Desolation. So What the Fark is the matter with him? All the KRs are needed to fight Odium. Is he more Batshat Crazy that Szeth? And who was that with him the Jasna's 6 year old POV? It sounded like another Herald. Which one is he?
  20. I think it is easy to work out a potential scenario. She Elsecalled from the ship in the middle of the ocean to Shadesmar which would be in the middle of land there. It was the middle of the night & Shallan's view did not mention her body clutching any pack or anything, so the most that she would have on her would have been a few spheres which could well have been used up just getting to Shadesmar & maybe healing herself a little. So she has to find food and spheres to live there & to get back. Are either of those readily available in Shadesmar? Then she needs to get from there to the point where she came back (Where Wit was) which would have been in the middle of Shadesmar's ocean of beads. To get across the beads to that point, she would have needed a significant amount of Stormlight to hold the beads together enough so she could walk across them to that point. The backpack and bandolier were probably full of the thousands of nearly depleted spheres that she needed to complete that task. Plus a little food that she was able to scrape up. Makes room for an very interesting story about how she could accomplish that without a food source or a Highstorm to give her energy. Can't wait to see what BS actually tells us about it! I can't wait TWO Years!!!!
  21. Thank you for posting that - We do not have a lot to go on, but I think that has a significant chance of happening. The only setback that I can think of, is that she has even less social status than Pre-KR Shallan had. And it was clear from Shallan's recieption that Dalinar wants someone higher for his son. But if she was Broken enough from Roshone, then maybe she will be a KR as well, so that could give her a Social boost
  22. That would plausably explain the Screaming but not his words. It has to be something more than that to make Relis say "What is it? What is it! No, I didn't kill you!" & make him run screaming from the arena. It does not make sense that it would be just the Blade Screaming. Why would he be concerned with KILLING a dead Blade that is not talking to him? Only if he is talking to his Spren or an Awakening blade.
  23. Pattern was obviously following Shallan since before she was 11 years old, but never significantly appeared in the visible world until she forced him to with her Picture. Not sure if that method might have damaged him a little as he went immediately "Stupid", had to relearn a lot of things and now he can't disappear completely anymore.
  24. Yes. It did not show up for me so I thought it got eaten by Post eater Voidspren. Retyped & re-posted it & they both showed up. GRRRR @ melancholy Who did he have a Bond with? Some other Spren? Stormfather clearly did not give his bond willingly. Can you start with one Spren and switch to a different Spren? That just raises a whole lot of questions. Do you have the exact quote? Edited to Add: If Relis's blade was a "Dead" normal blade that he was bonded to, it would not create the reaction from him to make him say "What is it? What is it! No, I didn't kill you!" & make him run screaming from the arena. It does not make sense like that. Only if he is talking to his Spren or an Awakening blade.
