I doubt Mr T will end up being the one that saves the world. As Moogle has already pointed out, he goes against everything these books are about. He is the antithesis to Dalinar. I can see Dalinar's book being about the struggle between the two to lead humanity safely through the desolation. Dalinar going the journey before destination route and Mr T going the ends justify the means route.

Note: I'm currently on my phone so I'm unable to provide sources for my WoB. I'll try to link it once I get on a computer. As the title suggests, I think Adonalsium is the creator of the native life forms present on Roshar. How? WoB: 1. all 16 Shards were present on Roshar at one point in time (suggests that Adonalsium itself was present) 2. There are Adonalsium spren running around on Roshar. 3. Parshendi are NOT of Honour. 4. Parshendi were not originally of either Odium or Cultivation. So unless another Shard came and created the Parshendi, Adonalsium is the only remaining explanation. Feel free to rip this apart if you see something wrong with it.

Why is Wyndle so wise/What's up with Syl? (Spoilers)
xbauks replied to Trickonometry's topic in Stormlight Archive
Most things are already mentioned. Wyndle had help to retain his memories. Pattern has been bonded for far longer. Syl came even though there was a lot of opposition. What isn't mentioned: Pattern is a scholar. From the way the spren and their society are described, Honourspren don't sound like they would be very scholarly. Imagine asking your average security guard how gravity works vs asking a physics professor. -
WoK Chapter 69 Epigraph Explained (spoilers!)
xbauks replied to sariahsue's topic in Stormlight Archive
Isn't it Moelach? -
After the revelation that Oathgates are just giant fabrials, I agree with the Plate being a fabrial. Note wrt lvl 5 Radiants: not sure if you're aware but not every order of Radiants have as obvious a level up as the Windrunners. Nor does it seem that they have the restrictions to Blade access (see shallan) that Windrunners do.
-
I enjoyed your paraphrase very much. Would you be willing to do this in other threads? Drop in with a relevant paraphrased epigraph?

Zahel is Vasher. Brandon explicitly states it.

The whole point of all the chaos is so that Mr T can be the beacon of hope. So he can become "king of everything" as he put it. So humanity can be united for the coming desolation. And while you're mentioning his failures, i hope you don't forget that he has become the king of Jah Keved. If Szeth had succeeded in killing Dalinar, Alethkar would've been an easy victory for him as well. Plague in Purelake? How fortunate for Mr T that his kingdom is so famous for its medical knowledge. Keep in mind that the Diagram was written some years prior to the current events. Circumstances have changed significantly. The Diagram being wrong about some things shows that even the godlike genius Mr T is fallible.
-
I agree with you. Normally intelligent Mr T is unable to really understand people. Diagram creating intelligent Mr T can. Whether it's because he can just process more information or he gains something extra we don't know. Regardless we can discard Mr T being mind controlled as a theory (knowing what we know so far)
-
Tempus: You make very good points. These is some misinformation in there though. Brandon has been fairly clear about spren. The normal spren are some combination of Honour and Cultivation. The voidspren are likely from Odium (not sure if there is hard evidence for this). Spren are splinters. Splinters can be made voluntarily by the shard. It is not necessary for a shard to be splintered (see the coppermind page for splinters). Regarding the bondsmith: the epigraphs mention a particular bondsmith resolving to defeat the voidbringers the next day. But before that he had to do something else. This puts him either (depending on your interpretation) right before the desolation ended or right before the recreance. He can't be in both times. Seeing as the desolation ended 4.5 thousand years ago and the Recreance happened long after, the binding of Odium and the Recreance cannot both be attributed to that person.
-
His stupidity while intelligent can also be explained by incomplete information processing. He is smart enough to process logical information but humans are hardly very logical. We may be predictable but I doubt a normal brilliant person who has not studied psychology can predict the behaviour of a person for any significant length of time.
-
Yes he's shown to be a little crazy on his intelligent days however, from what his advisors say, on the day he wrote the diagram, it was almost like he could see the future. Which is possible with enough information and someone/something that can process said information. If Mr T was as smart as his advisors believed on that day, he could have come up with the Diagram. Keep in mind that Cultivation is said to be best of the 3 at seeing the future. It is entirely possible that those 20 hours of near prescience were the boon. The fluctuating intelligence being the curse.

It is a timetable of highstorms. However you have the format wrong. Year/month/week/day is the correct format.

Theory: Last Chapter Stormlight Archive (Mistborn Spoilers)
xbauks replied to zandi's topic in Stormlight Archive
As Trevalion put it, I doubt Kaladin's death will be the last chapter of the Stormlight Archives. -
I'd love if Rlain got the Blade. It might even prevent Voidspren from forcefully bonding with him. I really doubt anyone but Dalinar or Adolin will get the Honourblade. As Syl has already told Kaladin, Honourblades represent a LOT of power that is left unchecked. I don't think Adolin will get it because he is most practiced with a Blade and Plate. Since Honourblades interfere with Plate, Adolin getting the Honourblade is unlikely. Dalinar may get it for self-defense purposes. But I think Kaladin won't give away the Honourblade all that easily.
-
That is one way to look at it. But first, Rayse is described as a despicable person. In addition to this, he has been the holder of Odium longer than either Ati or Leras and both of their personalities were severely warped by their shards. So it wouldn't make sense, from the knowledge we have so far, if Rayse was the Ancient of Stones.

Sorry for the confusion. I was referring to "was". rather than

Why is Kaladin different from the other Radiants? (Spoilers)
xbauks replied to Shards of Mist's topic in Stormlight Archive
Taln calls Shallan one of Ishi's Knights because Ishar founded the Knights Radiant. Ishar foresaw the power that Surgebinders possessed through the Nahel Bond and realized how dangerous such unchecked power could be. So Ishar forced the spren/Surgebinders to be bound by the Ideals. Source: Chapter 42 Epigraph Not every order has 4 Ideals (excluding the first. that seems to be something the KR strive for during a lifetime) that they need to speak like the Windrunners. Lightweavers only speak 1 Ideal. They get all the powers and Shards after speaking that 1 Ideal. That's how Shallan got her Shardblade so early. I suspect this is also the reason for the "power difference" between Shallan and Kaladin. The Windrunners might be one of the stronger orders because they are so tightly bound by their Oaths. Jasnah mentions that the Cryptics are the Lighteyes of Shadesmar not the Honourspren. She does however mention that there is conflict between the two. -
Might have been there to offset the Stormlight difference. Then it got changed up so that the Stormfather rushed the next Highstorm and Szeth + Kaladin had infinite Stormlight to fight with.

I understand that. I was trying to point out that the grammar used in that sentence seems to imply a single spren for all three Bondsmiths. The spren of the 3 Bondsmith The singular form was used. Even if each of the Bondsmith had a unique spren, you would still use the plural. Of course as Bramble Thorn pointed out, it is possible that since the book was written 200 years after the Recreance there could be errors.
-
This makes me think it could be either Taln or Odium depending on how you look at the situation. But this makes me think it's Taln. It mentions the Ancient of Stone cracking. The only way Odium fits for me is if he were trying to hold back the Final Desolation. That just doesn't seem like Odium though.
-
I really don't think Bondsmiths have different spren for each of them. This epigraph doesn't say "Their spren were..." Am I just bad at English or does that imply a singular spren for all 3 of them?
-
The Stormfather mentions that Dalinar will be a Radiant with no Shards. Whether that means that Bondsmiths as a whole have no shards or Dalinar alone will have no Shard remains to be seen.
-
I'll just try to go through the entire vision and pick out the parts that point towards Nohadon having lived before the previous Desolation. You can infer that the Desolation has only recently passed. Keep in mind that at the end of each Desolation, the Heralds have to go back to Damnation to be tortured until the next Desolation. Implies that the Heralds already came and have now gone back. Also implies that another Desolation is inevitable. If another Desolation is gong to come, then the Heralds haven't quit just yet. Important Note: No mention was made of the Knights Radiant. Surgebinders are mentioned, but no Knights Radiant are mentioned at all. From Chapter 59: This is almost certainly referring to Nohadon and The Way of Kings. If the Radiants based their Ideals on what was written in tWoK, then they were not formed until after the vision with Dalinar. However, the Radiants are already established during the Prelude. Conclusion: Nohadon lived atleast 1 Desolation before the Prelude.

This seems highly unlikely. Spren are a collaboration between Honour and Cultivation from what we've been told so far. Honourblades seem to be exclusively Honour's investiture. Not much to connect the two. So this seems unlikely. Chapter 83 epigraph contradicts with this very strongly. Mr. T makes it sound like the spren forming Nahel bonds is a response to the incoming Desolation rather than a trigger.
