Long Game 29: A Mote in Adonalsium's Eye
Jo and the Bush replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I am trying to push suspicion off me, because I don't want to be lynched. But I don't see why Village!Lopen would lynch me over this. It's not suspicious enough to justify killing an active, experienced, discussion causing player. And while this is not a bandwagon yet, I am very worried it will quickly develop into ine, unless I head it off now, because that's the most common day 1 lynch.- 984 replies

Long Game 29: A Mote in Adonalsium's Eye
Jo and the Bush replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Would be great if you could point them out, because you don't in your post. First, there's the whole Work with Odium/Don't work with Odium, which you mentioned, then there's the we need to discuss Autonomy and Odium/We need to have a discussion about who to lynch today(But we are lynching someone). Which discussion is more important. Then there's the Fact that you're still wanting to have a day 1 lynch, even though we still need to find our allies. What does this mean, exactly? Exactly what it says on the tin. We need PM's to be made, and we need to not lynch people. We need to get networks in place to figure things out, rather than be lynch happy based on a coincidence. (Also, I am formally retracting my Support for Joe's Ruin plan. It served it's secondary purpose of causing n, but it's primary purpose of stripping Future evil ruin of power is no longer worth the loss of a planet, and probably never was,) ... and then the shard passes to another player, and given that everyone seems so insistent that the 17th Shard is so small as to be incredibly unlikely to hit. Or it passes to Odium/Survival/Autonomy/Hoid. Right now, they are all in the hands of confirmed villagers. (I could ave sworn there was a role that could guard against 17th shard conversions, but I can't find it now? Is that not a thing?) And I would like to keep them in the hands of confirmed villagers until we've had a bit more time to read people and get a better trust for someone. I literally have in my notes that I trust Master Elodin because of the threnody pun he made. That's the level of trust I have for people on day 1, but I'm passing a shard to someone I trust that much, because I'm being lynched. And none of the information provideable through roles can supplant the information gained through a lynch. All the scans are involved in determining role, for example. None of the roles can give us information about who's working together or how people react under pressure, which is information we need to make successful lynches. Do we know of anyone who is working together? On the day 2 lynch, there will be at least three more people whoa have someone to work with (The Agents) Maybe even 4 if Hoid converts early on. Right now the possibility exists that No one is working together to lynch people, because Hoid started with no one. I have not seen a single argument that justifies a day 1 lynch in this specific set of circumstances. The fact that I'm being lynched based on a coincidence (Technically possibly a slip of the tongue in which i revealed that I somehow already knew Conquestor was on Threnody(I didn't))should be evidence enough that this specific day 1 lynch isn't really based on information. Lopen himself admitted it's tenuous. There's a reason I hadn't voted for anyone once i got a role PM.- 984 replies

Long Game 29: A Mote in Adonalsium's Eye
Jo and the Bush replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Lopen for things I will detail below. Both the bold things are completely wrong. Preservation can self invest, preservation cannot target himself with his own shardic ability. We do not need to kill Odium, his champion, Autonomy, his champion, or his converts. Your argument is self contradictory, in more ways then you realize. I'm not trying to waste time, i'm trying to buy time will we figure out what to do. You want to get odium working with us? Well great! We need Devotion making PM's and not to be lynching. i'm worried we'll be killing one of the shards with a lynch this early, and since a lynch bypasses their innate extra life, all it nets us is a big woops. Here's the thing, You will gain nothing from my lynch. It's not. Hoid cannot win if we go that path, but we would have to convince hoid to not convert anyone. And also that's, as you said, a dumb way to play. ^^^^^ This We do get more information though Sheep. There are scanner roles. There are invest roles. Lots of information, completely unrelated to the lynch, will come to light on Day 2. No one. Now, responses over. Let's talk. Earlier, I mentioned that The shards need to be careful with who they pass their shards to, because the hypothetical large 17th shard1 would be cozying up to them to try to get them passed. This is why I am voting for Lopen. I am Cultivation. Lopen knows that i'm a shard, and is pushing for my lynch because of this. All of us know just how easy it is to start a bandwagon on day 1. Plenty of us have done it before as Eliminators. Here's what I will be doing today. I will be investing in @Master Elodin. I will also be passing my shard to someone i trust. Of course, this is a very flimsy trust because this is day 1 and I haven't had time to get good reads. If I haven't been lynched come Night 1, i would like Master Elodin to confirm that Cultivation invested in him. That should confirm that I'm not lying. Either that or it will show that Master Elodin is a member of the 17th shard. If I have been lynched Day 1, what information will the village gain? Nothing. Except that they know that I am possible of mixing up Conquestor and Elodin, and that Lopen is willing to lynch people at the drop of a hat. By not lynching me, you gain an equal amount of information, and hang on to player that is active, village, and willing to discuss things. If I sound annoyed, it's because I am. The village is lynching the most active player, who is doing his darnedest to inspire as much activity and discussion as he can. 1. This was before i considered Hoid starting alone or with 1 flunky. Now i have no guesses as to the size of the shard.- 984 replies

Jo and the Bush replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I didn't think it was that important. I just kind of shrugged and wrote it off as a coincidence. There's nothing I can say to defend it other than that. If that's the only reason you have to lynch me, That'll suck for me, but, there's nothing else I can say. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯- 984 replies

Jo and the Bush replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I'm actually thinking I might not vote at all this cycle. . . Normally I'm all for a Day 1 lynch, but if there's only one eliminator right now (Hoid) Then, I don't know how much information we can really get from a lynch vs actions. I hate to bring up this old debate again, but, should we have a day 1 lynch?- 984 replies

Quick Fix Game 20: Summitmist Manor
Jo and the Bush replied to Haelbarde's topic in Sanderson Elimination
From the Spec Doc I'm kind of disappointed that no one with fore knowledge of my alignment saw that. Other that that, I loved this game! I was initially disappointed that i was an eliminator, since I seem to be one too often, but It was a great team we i was on. Props to Mage and Sart, who I respect killed, and to Kas and Rae, who had good analysis. Apologies To lopen, I didn't know you had died T1 last game. Also, always remember, if the victim was defenestrated, I was the killer.- 434 replies

Long Game 29: A Mote in Adonalsium's Eye
Jo and the Bush replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Scadrial has 4 players. so do 4 other planets. I am on Scadrial, which means there is a maximum of three people i could hypothetically roleblock, if i hadn't specifically included a way in the plan to avoid roleblocking anyone. So, by your own logic, It would make more sense for me to roleblock one of the 4 planets that has 4 people that I'm not on, since they would have a higher chance of having a higher concentration of shards that aren't aligned with me, which is also assuming that I'm on Hoid team. You're using a lot of assumptions to accuse me. Aaaand you just ninja'd me and took a lot of my annoyed wind from my sails. K. That's all i wanted shared. And cool, misunderstanding solved. But you're still voting for me. What have i done that wasn't been completely on the level and above the board that makes you suspicious of me? Aaaannnd you ninja'd me again. It's the first non-poke vote, which on day 1 is always scary. It's too easy to make bandwagons on day 1. I was kind of with Arinian that you were pushing too hard, but the subsequent posts have condinved me you're just trying to get a lynch going, and I was the only suspicious one. I'm fuzzy on that myself. "Nothing at all. I was merely asking. Though, i do notice you avoided answering the question."- 984 replies

Long Game 29: A Mote in Adonalsium's Eye
Jo and the Bush replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I'm currently changing my views. I hadn't thought of the possibility of Hoid starting without a team. I had it in my head that There was already 4 or 5 followers of Hoid, and that they would already know the information. However, that was basically the information i wanted to see. Make a list of all the planets, then see who switches to where. What if the hypothetical 4 or 5 hoid followers weren't evenly spread out throughout all the planets? They would make an effort to spread out or stay, getting at least one on each planet. Also, Freedom of information is always important, if just to stop the formation of a Shardic Coalition, like happened in the first iteration of this game. Good to know. Also, very very interesting. Thank you for pointing that out. I hadn't thought of that. Also, this wouldn't roleblock anyone. Thank you. That really just leaves Zephrer in the unknown. I'm getting a little tired of repeating myself. My Plan did not call for anyone to be roleblocked. Worldhopping happens during the day, World Destruction during the night. I specifically asked for us to decide what world today so that everyone could leave the world before it was destroyed. I didn't want anyone to be roleblocked, and if I did, why would i suggest the world I was on? I had no reason to want to roleblock anyone on scadrial, or anywhere else. "I have, however my friend here has not. Also, my name is Farallen Oniz." "I have been told of the world by a friend though. I merely wish to leave this world behind. I have a few too many enemies, and not enough friends. Are you by chance from Roshar yourself?"- 984 replies

Zephrer (Added Later) Unknown: Jondesu Zephrer Elodin Assuming two on on taldain, and one is on the First of the Sun, then Threnody could very well have only 2 players, which is weird, but okay. Lopen, I have GM'd seven games on this site. 90% of the actions taken by the players are a shame. If we only did what the GM's want, the GM's would have a lot more fun, but we would be bored out of our skulls. We need to outthink the GM just as much as the other players.- 984 replies

Long Game 29: A Mote in Adonalsium's Eye
Jo and the Bush replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Scadrial has four people on it, but all can worldhop away during the day, and we just need people to not worldhop to it today, and then it will be empty. I am proposing that ruin destroys 1 planet. If he does that, then Hypothetical Evil Future Ruin can't risk destroying another planet, because if he did, he would lose his nightly kill. I am not proposing removing Ruin's kill ability. I also think we'll need that in the future. (especially if it's in the hands of one of the inactive killers) I just decided i wanted to share planet information so i could find my favorite people to talk to and scheme with. If we plan it out, then Ruin won't stop anyone from taking an action. I've already put in order to leave Scadrial for Roshar. If everyone else on Scadrial does the same, then Ruin can blow up the planet tonight without blocking anyone. No actions or information prevented. Does it reduce Ruin's power and influence later in the game? Yes. but the later it is, the more likely it's in evil hands, and you're advocating passing the shards anyway (I am too) so Ruin's current vessel will already be losing his influence and power if he does it tonight. According to the rules, the 17th shard doesn't have a group kill. They can only lynch or cozy up to a shard. I'm actually thinking the shards should pass, but wait to see who tries to talk to them the most, tries to get them to trust them. Either that, or see who tries the hardest to lynch a shard. Jack's hand shot under his tunic, grabbing a dagger, but it was just another curious Noble. He forced himself to relax before turning to the man. Sani ad told him about him. Keren? Or something like that. "Ah, yes, would you like to sit down?" He nodded at the man's answer, then turned back to Farallen. "I spent nearly 6 months in Urteau impersonating various Skaa, and hiding every aspect of my noble identity. I can fit in with any group of people, as long as i have a bit of time to watch and listen to them.- 984 replies

At the word Roshar, Farallen's demeanor changed. He became a bit more interested, as he realized he was speaking with someone who knew of other worlds. "Ah, well it seems you know about such places, but you do not know how to get to them." "Indeed. I've met some inhabitants of otherworlds, but none shared with me their secrets." Jack paused as he thought of the mad Terrisman, Jonly, and the sly noblewoman, Sani. Lord Oniz took his silence to mean he had finished talking. "Well, I suppose I could show you, but it will take time to plan our trip." "I have nothing planned for the rest of my life Oniz, time is no object. Nor is money, if that is necessary." That ought to at least keep the man interested in teaching him. "So, where would you like to go?" How much to reveal? Jack only knew of Roshar from Sani's complaints about the in-hospitality of the world, wracked as it was by storms. But it could hardly be worse than Scadrial's ashfalls. "I would like to go to Roshar. I have a friend there." Con, can Sheep join in? @Master Elodin can you clarify what you mean by 'Performing the same'?- 984 replies

Long Game 29: A Mote in Adonalsium's Eye
Jo and the Bush replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
@AliasSheep I have no problem with you joining us Kelen. As for the sharing of information, I'm thinking that near complete freedom of information is important. Keep roles secret obviously, but everything else should be a mater of public record. The more information in the hands of the public, the more informed choices they can make. Ruin's is the only ability that is world related. And actually, @Ruin I think you should blow up a world now. The ability can only be used twice, and once it's been used a second time, Ruin loses the ability to kill. So using it once tonight, when you don't have any real kill targets (I hope) will prevent hypothetical Evil!Ruin from using the ability again. Sacrificing a power that is only hypothetical useful to us in exchange for robbing the other team of it's equally hypothetical but more useful use. Now, we only need a planet to volunteer to be destroyed. I vote Scadrial. It's thematically appropriate. (Also, I just noticed, the names of everyone on Scadrial start with A.)- 984 replies
