I'm Spiked. I'd like tell you of the voice that has tormented me ever since I was a child. The voice has compelled me to drive ever more spikes into myself, every time it became harder to resist its influence. In an attempt to spite that voice I had begun to trying to poison myself with lead, but the crude spikes had made me too resilient. Any efforts to kill myself were futile. In the brief moments where I was able to overcome the voice's influence I tried to tell all of you, though my madness prevented anyone from heeding my warnings. It seems, now that I have ceased to be useful, the voice has begun to loosen its influence over me. I don't deserve a quick death, but I hope you give me one. I can't... hold out against the voice much longer. Though that's just me roleplaying, I do still regret having to deceive all of you. Even though it's only the third day, I imagine this game is going to come to a conclusion quite soon. We'll soon see if the Village has enough luck (which does seem to be on your side in any case) to win the game for a change.

I'm saying that after I'm dead, and I'm proven to be a Vilage Seeker, then my words can be trusted. And then you'll be able to trust him fully. Obviously I don't expect you to believe me now. But after I'm dead you will. My problem is that Gamma's source can safely accuse me of being Spiked, and of a role that I'm unlikely to have, when he/she is is a Seeker and should be be under just as much suspicion, or even more so, since they have accused me of having a role that I'm unlikely to have. And, yes, I am effectively useless, to the extent that I would only have one more night, but you guys are wasting a one day on lynching me. And I could still seek someone during that one night. And why are you trying to get me to reveal who I've seeked? If I reveal who I've seeked that the Spiked will know exactly what I've told Gamma. Currently the Spiked don't know who the second person that I've seeked is. For all they know I seeked someone, and have told Gamma that this person is innocent, and so Gamma has one more person that he can trust, or that Gamma now knows that that one person is Spiked. You're effectively asking me not only to help the Spiked by dying needlessly but to also help the Spiked just as I'm about to die by giving them the only information that I have. If Gamma, believes that you can be trusted, then he'll give you the information himself. But If you don't trust Gamma, then why the are you lynching me right now?

Because I didn't make the Tineye message in the first write-up. But obviously I can't prove a negative. So I guess I can't really use that as evidence. I've already given Gamma the information. There's no point in revealing the other one that I've seeked in public. Gamma should post saying that he's received it. I'm a third Seeker (probably. possibly a second). And it can be assumed that at-least one of the Seekers is spiked. If the claim is that I'm a Spiked Mistborn, then it means that most likely on of the two seekers is a Spiked. Obviously It can't be claimed that I'm both the Spiked Seeker and the Spiked Mistborn at the same time. If it was claimed that I'm the Spiked Seeker then then it could be said that one of the three/two seekers (including me) is certainly spiked. Effectively I'm saying that you can't say that I'm Spiked by using both the logic suggesting that I'm the Spiked Seeker and the logic suggesting that I'm the Spiked Mistborn put together. If I'm the Spiked Seeker then Gamma's source would've said that I'm the Spiked Seeker.

Well, this is funny. Reminds me of the first game. Well, here we go again. I'd give you guys a list table like last time, but unfortunately I have no clear suspicions this time (I'm still slightly suspicious of Mabi though), and you guys would probably forget to follow it, just like last time. Remember how that turned out? Anyway, this is all I have to prove that I'm innocent: Firstly, I'm a Seeker. A non-spiked Seeker that is. Secondly, the person, who said that I'm spiked, would have to be a Seeker (or at-least say that they're a Seeker). That would have to mean that are three Seekers in this game. And that means that for me to be a Spiked Mistborn, none of these two Seekers are spiked, which is unlikely. Thirdly, for me to be a Mistborn means that there would have to be two Mistborn in this game, which is also unlikely. Whoever fed Gamma the misinformation would have to be spiked. That, and they didn't think this through properly. Having effectively thought of the least likely role for me to have. (At-least this tells me that the Spiked haven't seeked me yet) If they had seeked me then they would've accused me of being a Spiked Seeker, in which case I'd have almost no way of proving my innocence. Assuming that you're not convinced, I have a request that I like to make, for after you've lynched me, and my innocence is proven: Do not lynch Gamma. He isn't Spiked (I seeked him). The person who should be lynched is obviously is the person who fed Gamma misinformation. Being that two nights have passed, obviously I've already seeked two people. I'll be telling Gamma of the role of the other person that I seeked.

There's something that we're forgetting. The Spiked we lynched was a Regular Spiked, not a misting. Which means that out of all the Spiked, Erendi was probably the most disposable. In any case, I'm still maintaining my suspicion of Mabi.

Well, it my opinion that, someone needs to lynched this cycle, otherwise we really don't gain anything at all. The Spiked will benefit from our inactions in the long run. That said, I'm voting for one of my major suspects, Mabi. My reasoning is the same as Meta's. That's to say that it's mostly due to roleplaying reasons.

If everyone votes for a different person then the results will be the same as if everyone hadn't voted at all. It's not much of a threat if a person only has one vote against them, especially if you go and change your vote a few posts later even though the accused hasn't responded. I don't want to have someone lynched unless there's reason to believe that they're spiked, but I'm not opposed to threatening to lynch them if they refuse to participate. I also think that jasonpenguin is acting quite suspiciously. We should lynch him, unless of-course he provides us with what we need to know.

Unlike in the previous game, I actually think that we should lynch, or at-least interrogate, someone. In the previous game there was an extremely low chance that we would manage to lynch the Inquisitor; in this game at-least there's a much higher chance that we would manage to lynch a Spiked. We'd be wasting a whole day if no one is cast any suspicion. That kinda promotes being an inactive player, as it would be taking away most of the reason a person has to post. In any case, since we may not have any Seekers left, it'll be much harder for us to obtain proof of whether someone is spiked or not. At-least if we "interrogate" someone we can obtain some information, rather than do nothing and obtain almost no information. By not lynching anyone we're effectively giving the Spiked a free cycle.

I doubt that both Tineyes are spiked. Chances are that only one of them is. And if the Mistborn is spiked why did they also post a tineye message? Same applies for if all three of them are Spiked. Also, the Mistborn doesn't have the most powerful role in this game. they can only use each ability once (assuming this game doesn't go on for longer than 8 cycles). Effectively the most important roles right now are the Coinshot and the Seeker. And the chances are that there is a second seeker as well. Let's do some analysis here: In the first game there were four Spiked and 16 players in total. If the same applies to this game there could be anything from four to six Spiked players. Three of the Spiked in the previous game were mistings. So anything from three to five of the current spiked could be mistings. I think it's pretty safe to assume that there is at-least one Spiked Smoker, being that the role is more useful for the Spiked than it would be for us. So arranged according to likelihood of one of these roles being a spiked: Spiked Regular 100% - Highly likely, I hope. Spiked Tineye 75% - Highly likely, based on the fact that there are two Tineye messages in the write-up. Spiked Mistborn 75% - Likelihood is also dependant on whether they have Smoker, Seeker and a Lurcher. Spiked Smoker 75% - Kinda an essential role for the Spiked. Likilihood decreases slightly if the Spiked have the Mistborn on their side. Spiked Soother/Rioter 75% - Chances are that they have at-least one of these roles. Spiked Seeker 75% - Likelihood is high, unless they have the Mistborn, which would slightly decrease the likelihood. Spiked Thug 50% - Making this 50% percent because there reason for there not being one as much as there is for there being one. Spiked Lurcher 50% - Likelihood of there being a Spiked Lurcher is low, unless there isn't a Spiked Smoker or a Spiked Coinshot Spiked Coinshot 25% - Likelihood of there being a coinshot when the spiked already have one kill per night is low. Spiked Soother+Rioter 10% - Likelihood of there being both a Spiked Soother and a Rioter is pretty low. Spiked Coinshot+Mistborn 10% - Likelihood of there being both a Spiked Coinshot and a Spiked Mistborn is low. Three kills in one night is a bit much. The values are fairly arbitrary, but hopefully they (or rather, hopefully they don't) represents the probabilities effectively enough.

The Spiked probably knew that Dyrii was the Seeker, otherwise they would've targeted Meta instead, or me, because I'm a lead-misting. and lead-mistings are scientifically proven to be the most powerful mistings of all mistings. In fact, one of my past lives did a study on it... Anyway, does this mean that there are already PM groups? I thought we would've learnt from the first game that that is (for the most part) a bad idea. That and nobody ever invites me to their birthday parties -- I mean PM groups. I hope that Peng will give Lent's role (if he has one) to someone else, since he's dropping out. Of-course I'm not saying that he should give it to me, I mean, I'm already a lead-misting after all.

Asp lay shivering in his hovel. The scream coming from somewhere in the village had woken him up, but the silence that had followed was what kept him awake. They've finally come for me!, he thought. The Canton of Lead! He had known this day would come, and had prepared for it. Frantically he searched for his secret stash of lead shavings. But he could not find them. They were gone. Asp took out the measly amount of lead shavings that he always kept on his person. It was all he had left. It would have to do. Slowly he moved to crouch in the far corner of the hovel. Ready to attack any assailants that entered.

Asp agreed with Forage (who seemed to be speaking his thoughts aloud). Asp didn't like this man either. Why he seemed to take Asp for a fool. A clockwork mouse? A spike from an Inquisitor? Like any of that was worth anything! The bent copper clip was the only thing of value that he offered. And finally commendation for shiny pants! That was the last straw! Asp wouldn't let Lent insult Asp's dignity any longer! Why, in one his past lives he would've skinned the man for daring to mention shiny pants. Luckily for Lent the current Asp was a man of peace and dignity and honour. Asp whipped out the stick he had with him from earlier on. "You dare to impugn my dignity?!??!? Next time you do so I'll challenge you to a duel!" With that said Asp went running off down the road.

Well I'd estimate that it's probably about roughly approximately 2314 boxings, and a lock of the lord ruler's hair .But, I don't know... those pants are awfully shiny after all. I'm not sure I can sell that much lead to a person with shiny pants. I mean, do you have a permit for that?

Asp eyed Lents, then took out a stick and poked him with it. "Yeah, I have a stash. What do you want it for? Also is that a metric or imperial ton? Also, how do you get a full ton? What's an empty ton? Can you have a ton of tons? Also, why are you wearing metal pants. Is there something you're not telling us?"

You would have to send the PM through the game-master, which, depending on how many Spanreed holders there are, would make quite a bit more work for the game-master. This would be almost as much work for the game-master as Uber-Tin is. I don't think it would be to effective having the Spanreeds acting as that. PMs would be delayed, responses would also be delayed, and you really wouldn't want to say much to an anonymous player in the first place, whose role and alliance you don't know. Though In certain cases I guess you couldn't be any less certain of their role. I think that the Spanreeds should act in a similar way to how the Tineyes do. Allowing a person to post anonymous messages through the Game-master, in the write-ups. I think that an interesting Stormlight Eliination game would be where there are Ghostbloods and their objective is to obtain specific items. The only way they can take these items is obviously by killing those who already have them. I did already come up with a few curses and boons that allow a person to loot those who have already died or allow a person to give away their items on their own death.
-
Would you suggest that I scrap those two totally, or could I nerf them? Maybe make it that it can only be used once, which it may as well be anyway, as I doubt that any would appreciate having their vote diverted. Or maybe have it that you can divert all votes away from the target straight to you, ensuring your death but giving you the opportunity to save someone (if there'd be a reason to do that).
-
I've thought up some more vote-altering Boons and Curses: - You are able to vote against two different people (not two votes against one person), but you always receive an extra vote against yourself if you have two or more votes against you. - You may cast your vote as far as two cycles in advance, you may not alter this vote on the day, but you may alter it anytime before that. If you die then any votes you've cast in advance will still remain in effect. - You may divert votes away from one person onto another person and yourself. If you divert say six votes away from person A then both you and person B, your target, receives 3 votes. If person A has 7 votes then you receive 3 and person B receives 4. - You may divert all votes away from a single person onto yourself, if the number of votes you receive is less than 3 or an even number, then you survive, if it's 3 or more and odd then you get lynched. (Note: it's probably not a good idea to have both this and the previous B&C in the same game). I don't think anyone would really want this B&C. *I suppose that things may get complicated if there are more than one of these vote-altering B&Cs in a single game.
-
Yes, though we should have it that shardplate-bearers and artifabrians are in a different version of Stormlight Elimination. Neither of those two roles would work too well in this version. Hopefully, once Words of Radiance is out, there will be more roles that we can use in a uh, role-centric Stormlight Elimination?
-
What would the thief do with the discarded items though? For a scenario I have the idea that there are several Ghostbloods that have infiltrated the group and their objective is to obtain the Soulcaster and Shardblade.
-
Good point. Maybe it could be that the GM writes it for them, though that would defeat the purpose. So your idea is probably best. After all, It does allow for quite an interesting gameplay mechanic. I just want to clarify that the painrail only allows a person to survive for one more day (or one more night, if someone attacks them during the day) not one more cycle. The only way to prevent that is, as you've said, to target them twice the first time. When a person does survive an attack using a painrail, then there isn't any way to kill them before they can do anything, and even if you could, there wouldn't be any point to attacking them again anyway, as they're going to die the day or night after they were attacked anyway.
-
That's quite a good idea. The death cries don't need that as an explanation though. The death cries are effectively the last words a person says, in the throes of death, on Roshar. I'm not too sure what I'm supposed to call them. Death rattles/death delirium/cryptic death cries? Preferably they should be slightly cryptic. Though it's up to the game master to decide how cryptic. With the Painrail I want it to be that the person can still post, up until they final death, though your idea does allow for a way for the "mafia" to combat that.

"Help! I'm being compressed!" Asp shouted after Cyrus "Look! Come and see the violence inherent in the system! Violence Inherent in the System!!!" "damnation you Cyrus! What gives you the right to be in charge here? People shooting coins is no basis for a system of government!" Quiteing down he began to grumble to himself as he made his way to the meeting. Stormlight Elimination I've got some ideas for how a Stormlight Elimination game might work. Instead of roles, you get items, and a few abilities (curses and boons). So far it's substantially lacking on the day-time aspect (vote affecting items/abilities), any ideas on how I can improve that? Items: Half-shard shield: prevents the target from dying if they sustain a single attack. Shardblade: kill one person per night. Soulcaster: retaliate against any who attack who attack your target or save your target from an attack (can't do both at the same time). Alerter: alerted to with what item/ability your target was targeted with (but not as to who targeted your target), and to who your target targeted with their own item/ability (but not as to what that item/ability is). (e.g. if you target person A with this item you'll find out that person B also targeted person A, and that person A used their item/ability) Spanreed: allows you to post anonymous messages through the GM's write-ups at the end of every cycle. Emotion bracelet: alerted to all malevolent and benevolent acts (malevolent: attacks, benevolent: saves) but not as to who was targeted (e.g. person A used this item/ability, person B used this item/ability) Painrail: Delay your, or your target's, death after being attacked, by a single day/night. * By target, I mean either you or the person you chose to target. That is to say that you may target yourself. **I only chose to list items that could possibly be concealed, as it really wouldn't make sense for no-one to know that the guy walking around with the nice armour on, is in fact wearing sharplate. Nightwatcher's curses and boons: - You may at any time kill two people of your choosing (even during the day) but as a result you will also die. Note: this will probably be the only ability that allows a kill during the day, simply because there's no point in concealing your action. It goes without saying that you can only use this once (there are no items that can prevent your death). - You have two votes (one secret and one public) but you may not vote for those whose username starts or ends with a specific letter (letter is specified at the beginning of the game). - You can steal someone else's item/ability, but lose any item/ability that you already have. The player who you stole from will know that you did so. - You get either the first, second or third person to die's item/ability. (depending on whether there are other players with this B&C) - When you die you may give any item you have to another person, as long as you have refrained from using your item for two cycles. - You have two items in your possession, and can use them simultaneously, but you have a 20% chance of dying each cycle. - You are able to vote against two different people (not two votes against one person), but you always receive an extra vote against yourself if you have two or more votes against you. I've got a few more ideas of Curse and Boons that I don't want to reveal yet, because knowing what they do just spoils it. If you're going to start a Stormlight Elimination game with Boons and Curses then just PM me, and I'll give the rest of them to you. Last Words/Death Cries/Death Rattles Every single player is allowed, when they die, to say a single line. It's up to the GM to decide what they may or may not say with their last words. The last words are posted within the write-up (will probably have to be posted in the cycle after a person's death, though). Preferably these should be, to an extent, cryptic.
-
"Aha!", Asp shouted to no-one in particular as he barged through the door to Forage's shop. "That's all a FALSE LIE! Actually, I bet Lead-mistings are the strongest of all. In fact I, in one of my past lives, did a study on it, or rather several studies. In fact there was actually a whole canton dedicated to studying Lead-mistings." He had begun to glare at a large marble bust of some nobleman while saying this. " There was only one problem facing this alternative me, no wait, there was a multitude of problems facing him, no her. Did I mention he being I was a she? This didn't daunt me though, both being a woman and having obstacles to face, there were no obstacles capable of impeding my great mind, or any of my minds for that matter. Did I mention that I had multiple minds?" At this point he had begun waving his arms around as if fighting off a swarm of insects. "Anyway, where was I? Oh, yes, the multitude of unsurmountable problems that I would surmount. Foremost of these problems was that nobody could actually find a Lead-misting. You see us Lead-mistings, while certainly being the most powerful mistings, are also the most rare. Also Lead-mistings are the most powerful mistings. Did I mention that Lead-mistings are the most powerful of all? Also, the... uh, I forget where I was going with this. Either way, you were clearly mistaken!" With that said he swiveled around, grabbed a large hat off of a rack, and sauntered out.
