  1. Yeah, the reasoning for it being 1,000 is pretty good and following the previous rank is just too perfect. You really should make yourself sound like more of a genius and stop admitting these things were all coincidental though. At least, that's what I would do
  2. Chaos just became a "Sentient Awakened Object" at 1,000. I think he was well aware of the level he would soon reach and really wanted to be nightblood so found a clandestine way of ranking himself as such.
  3. Didn't he say there will be a specific Hoid book near the end of the sequence?
  4. No, I was Lord Prelan from 550-574
  5. I'm gonna make a bet that is just a working title until he can think of something new since the next book is focused on a Skybreaker. He's changing from Stones Unhallowed because it sounds too close to Rothfuss' Doors of Stone. Compared to The Way of Kings and Words of Radiance, Skybreaker is pretty uninspired and doesn't really sound like a book so I would guess the third book has a better title by the time it's released.
  6. I don't think you can use Darkness as proof she can breath stormlight. He is just acting based on his current knowledge about how stormlight works. Of course he would assume she'd inhale it. He is genuinely surprised when she started building stormlight after eating the bread so he has no idea about her specific situation. What the night mother did to her is obviously a very unique change based on what Wyndle says so it isn't out of the realm of possibility that she changed Lift so that the only way she could invest was through food. Seems like the kind of thing the night mother would do. "Sure, I'll make you awesome, but you'll have to starve to use it."
  7. Actually that sounds like a very likely religious book title from the shin with their views on stone. With the next book being focused on Szeth, seems very probable.
  8. @ffnord 575 = Dakhor Monk
  9. Nothing is confirmed for Heralds in general but it's pretty safe to say the Nalan has the ability to sense someone who is investing, wether or not they have outward physical signs of it. When lift ate the bread, he sensed she was gaining stormlight before she started to act and was confused as to how she was acquiring it.
  10. The Sel magics seem to work slightly differently than most other forms of investiture in that the person themselves is not the actual conduit. The symbol is what actually filters and channels the energy. For instance, you can make a soulstamp and someone else can use it just as easily as you can. They are external magics and thus the investiture wouldn't need to be ingested to perform them.
  11. Hey, my family is symmetrical! We only have sixteen... oh, you thought that was a leg. Never mind.
  12. Look its Pattern and he's alive! You can go HERE to download various versions of the Pattern designs which are based on the in book sketches Shallan made of him.
  13. Background design using the first six honorblades that have been released. You can download the design for each individual blade HERE
  14. Tracings for the honorblades/herald glyphs imprinted on the introductory page of each Part in tWoK and WoR. You can download each individual design HERE
  15. From what brandon himself has said, that sounds like what his plans are. He's introducing characters like Lift and Rysn through interludes in the first set of books and maybe have a few intersections with the main characters here and there but then in the second set of books they will take center stage.
  16. Since when does the King's Wit ask permission to insult people?
  17. I think @Levian had the right if it with the SoIaF reference. GRRM initially planned three books with some time jumps but then after the first two books decided to write what happened in the gaps. Ended up with books that, for the most part, could have been skipped. They are still interesting reads but not critical to telling the story. We don't know what happens at the end of stormlight 5 and the start of 6 but seeing how Brandon has had this planned out for a while, I'd imagine there is a good reason for the gap. I would rather he didn't write ten years worth of material if nothing significant happens. A small scale example is the Harry potter books. Would you have wanted Rowling to include everything that happened to Harry over the summer holidays? There were also months of time skipped even while they were at school because nothing important to the story was happening. True, they were the same main characters after the gaps but I don't think Brandon plans on dropping everyone we love from the first half. They will still be in the story, just won't be the main PoV's
  18. It seems more like he remembers their founding and has seen Radiants before, he's just having troubles figuring out exactly how long it's been since then and how many desolations. His timeline has gotten screwed up.
  19. Her Order is known as the Elsecallers and the name is believed by some to relate to the transportation surge thus "elsecalling" themselves or others to different locations (like the oathgate does). It could also just reference how their soulcasting allows them to "call" things and make them something "else". We've only seen the one example of her using transportation though so no solid facts yet.
  20. Hello Meresh, welcome to the community. Have you read any of Brandon's other work besides Stormlight?
  21. Well... I can't take too much credit. I'm just modifying the extraordinary work of Isaac and Ben. Might I ask what the origin of the rocket boat is? Is that actually from a FF game? I only played some of the latter games starting with VII.
  22. Alright... last submissions for the day. I've been sick and being artistic keeps my mind off the fact I feel like crap which accounts for my high productivity today in the design department. I've loved my Pattern icon since making it so decided to go ahead and make all the various designs depicted in the book art where Shallan sketches him: And the inverted colors: Reading that art page, I got the idea to have the patterns shift into each other like she describes so I made two quick gifs: If only I could set a gif to my icon. On another note, I realized while working on these that there isn't a coppermind page for Pattern yet. We have a page for the stick but not the lovable Pattern?
  23. I believe you mean Bavadin. Yes, he's been described as an antagonistic shard and has reportedly "worked" with Odium in the past (I don't remember where the reference for that is). But he is located on Taldain, where White Sand takes place, I believe, not Threnody where Shadows of Silence takes place.
  24. Brandon has been asked and listed the first five books' flashback characters at almost every one of the WoR signing events. Szeth, Eshonai, then Dalinar are the next three books.
