If they got banned for something they posted, it should have been pretty obvious what it was for. The moderators usually give a warning before banning someone. Otherwise, they might have been people who attempted to make multiple accounts which is against the forum rules.

Glyphs for Profiles
Awesomeness Summoned replied to Awesomeness Summoned's topic in Creator's Corner
Actually, only the first one was upside down since it was the only new one from the top of the list. The bottom five are all oriented correctly. I fixed the first one though. Thanks for the tip. -

Glyphs for Profiles
Awesomeness Summoned replied to Awesomeness Summoned's topic in Creator's Corner
Tell me about it. Attempting to decipher the glyphs from the warcamp sketch was like trying to interpret rorschach blots... complete guessing on my part. I'll be the first to say these are likely wildly inaccurate but my best idea at what the glyphs actually look like. If this is helpful Argent, great. If this just causes you more confusion in translations, tough luck. On an aside, any guesses on which of these belong to which highprince? I expected to be able to match the glyphs we already know and then determine the rest by the order they are given in the sketch's text but that does not appear to be the case. Some of it seems in order but Sabarial shouldn't be at the end of the list of names so I'm stumped. -
Yes that is the hinging factor on wether or not coins would have an effect on the plate. If enough speed can be added to the coin before releasing the push, then its possible. If the force of the coin can only be maintained by continuous pushing (resulting in push back) then Kelsier would probably be at a disadvantage. Yes, I know, that's what I was getting at. A large amount of his force was lost when the bones snapped and he was still able to crack the plate significantly.

I'll add my consensus on leaving stormlight for last. It's outstanding but is nowhere near finished yet so you don't need to be in any hurry to pick it up. Plus, you will more fully appreciate the various layers in stormlight if you've read all his other works (especially mistborn and warbreaker).

You can't really make a direct comparison between shardplate and regular armor. They work on completely different physics. I've never seen slabs of metal shatter or regrow damage. Yes, it can be said shardplate is better than regular armor but you can't say that just because we've never seen coins penetrate armor in mistborn that must mean they couldn't damage shardplate. I've also never seen someone slam their feet into a suit of armor at high velocity and shatter a piece of the armor. The coins (like bullets) concentrate a massive amount of energy on a small surface area, far more force than Kal would have been able to put into his feet before his bones snapped and dissipated the energy. If Kal could shatter plate with his feet, Kelsier should be able to shatter a piece or two if he has enough coins with him. Edit: It also seems like a lot of people in here assume Dalinar would know everything a mistborn can do and methods to counteract them. I'm pretty sure Kelsier would have the huge advantage of surprise in this encounter. Shards are pretty straight forward and Kel wouldn't have much problems figuring out that he should keep his distance from metal fists and a giant sword. The speed and strength from the plate might catch him a little off guard but he's used to dealing with pewter mistings so not much of an adjustment. Dalinar on the other hand would have no idea what was going on with Kelsier's abilities.

Welome and glad to have you. Are you fairly new to Sanderson or are you well versed in the Cosmere? -
You're implying he doesn't already have that power I'm pretty sure Chaos could take over Joe's account and nobody would ever know.

If you look below your avatar on the left there is a green box with a number and a title. That is your current "Reputation". It doesn't really do anything in particular for you but is a fun way for people to display how much they have contributed to the forum. At the bottom right of each post is an up arrow and down arrow. If you think a post is particularly well written, insightful, helpful, or humorous you can upvote that person. If you find a post to be offensive (or we would perhaps call it Odious on this forum) you can downvote it (though downvotes are rare since most people on this forum are very well behaved).

Hello! New member!
Awesomeness Summoned replied to Queen Elsa Steelheart's topic in Introduce Yourself!
They often tend to be that way. Brandon relies on Peter a lot to work out technical details that might be needed sometime but haven't actually come up in the books yet. For instance, he might have Peter determine the relative amounts of stormlight that can be stored in various types of gemstones. Brandon won't have the info memorized but if someone asks about it he'll tell them to ask Peter who will have the info worked out somewhere. -
Next 17th Shard Q&A?
Awesomeness Summoned replied to Glaring at the Survivor's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Maybe have only one or two questions be allowed for a certain time period? If Brandon gets all those questions answered before the Q&A needs to wrap up, it opens up to anyone that wants to ask more questions.- 31 replies

When you have an entry in your notes app just for copying text from threads to read hidden white text (since the iPad doesn't show white text when highlighted) -
Sure thing. Just let me grab a hemalurgic spike and I'll transfer all your rep to Shaggai. Sound good?

Awesomeness Summoned replied to Awesomeness Summoned's topic in Creator's Corner
Nope, sorry. Once I custom design an avatar for someone they are obligated to keep that as their icon until the end of time. (it was in the fine print when you agreed to use your current one) Looks like you're stuck as an Elsecaller. -

The glyphs from the Narak Battle actually expanded pretty well without losing too much detail so I think these should be pretty close trace approximations of them. Aladar Kholin Roion Sabarial Sadeas The rest of the highprince glyphs on the warcamp artwork are not nearly as clear though so I will attempt those some other time. -

Thank you both kindly. Apparently I'm extremely unobservant. I breezed right over those maps without even noticing the glyphs. They are pretty small and blurred but I'll see what I can do. Having different versions on multiple illustrations will help a little. The one on the fighting stances page I had already done previously so that is one that can be scratched off the list. -

I've thought about doing those. The difficulty is finding a way to downscale them to icon size and still be obvious what they are. I'll probably play around with them at some point and if nothing else I can just make tracings like I did for the whitespine. I wouldn't mind trying that but are those listed somewhere I'm not aware of? I don't remember seeing the highprince glyphs on any of the book artwork. A link would be appreciated. -
Oh, I know you didn't mean it in a bad way. Was just joking around with list maker comment. Pretty sure I've called chaos a troll before myself (With the kindest of intentions of course)

Personally don't think it's much of a competition. Kelsier without breaking a sweat. Shards are powerful against regular soldiers but a talented mistborn just has too much versatility for a shardbearer to handle.

I'd love to be able to do something like that... but unfortunately I'm not all that great at creative drawing/sketching. My skills are limited to graphic design for the most part so unless I had a wax and wayne to work from I probably wouldn't be able to put something like that together and do it justice.
