  1. When you introduce your friend to Brandon Sanderson and she seems to like it and its the high point of your entire day.
  2. How do we know that he isn't immortal now because of being returned? I don't necessarily think it's likely, but it is worth considering. Unless we know something from earlier in Hoid's timeline?
  3. What interests me the most is that this is a cosmere story. This seems very different from the magic systems we've seen so far. I wonder what sort of shard grants magical abilities along with illness?
  4. You can't summon a shardblade in Hogwarts! Haven't you ever read Hogwarts a History ??
  5. I wanted a username that was somewhat reading related or had a literary reference, and my little brother threw out "the mad reader", not expecting me to actually use it. I liked it because it sounded a bit like the Mad Hatter, and because it could sound like I read a mad amount, like I'm mad about reading, or that I'm both mad and a reader, all of which are true.
  6. It's not only amazon. I pre-ordered from Barnes and Noble and they're not shipping it until tomorrow.
  7. I also thought of Gaz. We don't really know if he ever murdered someone, but we do know that he was making payments to a brightlord. It is possible that he was being blackmailed because he was a murderer.
  8. I think it is very unlikely that Shen would forgive Kaladin for disrespecting the dead in such a serious way. Kaladin knew what he was doing when he did it- if I recall correctly, Kaladin thought of the idea of wearing carapace armor after seeing how Shen reacted to him moving parshendi bodies. I don't think any of us would easily forgive someone for cutting up and wearing dead bodies. And I agree with EvilKetchupCow about all parshmen caring about their dead, rather than it being anything unusual about Shen.
  9. I thought the shhh was because we were reading the scene from Dalinar's perspective, and since he couldn't hear his wife's name we couldn't either.
  10. I think Shallan's flashback chapters would be more interesting than anyone else's at this point. For most of the characters, I mainly want to go forward and see what they'll do in the future, but Shallan has a lot of secrets in her past that I'd love to find out.
  11. Hello! I've been lurking for a while and finally decided to sign up and actually be able to post on all the lovely speculation threads going on. I've read most of Brandon's books, with the exception of the emperor's soul since my library has *sniffle* failed me, and doesn't have a copy. I hope to get ahold of it in the future, to complete my mental collection. *waves* Nice to meet you all
