  1. Dang! That would really have been something...
  2. Um, what? Do you have the WoB handy? All I can find on the topic are RAFOs, and I'd love to read a WoB where he answers this.
  3. Congrats, Radiant!
  4. Well, I can say first hand that at least one sale went through their POS at 12:01 this morning...
  5. Hey folks, If this is the wrong place to post (or if it shouldn't be posted at all) please let me know. But, for what it's worth, Target was given a street date of Dec 5 and WaT is now on shelves nationwide in the US...
  6. This is another thing that doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but is a bit of a different topic. Have you read the preview chapters?
  7. @alder24 - I read @Moiraine's post as less about Design and more about
  8. It's also important to remember that SA is a work 'translated' from the original Alethi into our language here on another planet. She may well have said something along the lines of "the wider expanse of any known or unknown existence throughout time and space ad eternum" and the in-world translator simply used "Cosmere" as shorthand that those on Silverlight and here on Earth (in another universe altogether) would understand.
  9. Consider everything we now know Ialai knew about the wider cosmere, the efforts that Amaram was involved in, and the powers that Gavilar was meddling with... as the three people perhaps closest to Sadeas before he (or they) died, it seems reasonable to me that some of the implications yet-to-pass may be less about Adolin's role in Sadea's death, and more about the death itself and the knowledge (or access) lost with it. As I'm rereading SA in preparation for WaT, so many of his machinations come into a new light when viewed through this lens.
  10. A pile of poopspren?
  11. While it's a super interesting theory, I don't see it lasting long if it is the case... the whole sanctity of '16' within the Cosmere business. If that were to shift, fundamentally alter the world in a fundamental forces-altering event akin to the catacendre at Cosmere scale, I believe more set up would be needed first.
  12. I love this theory so much right now. We know to ALWAYS expect the redirect, another secret from BS... but this would be yet another massive misdirection that none of us saw coming in the best way.
  13. Do I remember correctly that there's a WOB (couldn't find it just now, though) that SA is essentially Dalinar's story? How might that shift our understanding and predicting?
  14. Storming fabulous!
  15. I suspect (Dragonsteel Spoiler) is involved. Twinning!
  16. Another possibility to consider - however unlikely - is that this is not Lusintia at all. Remember when Syl posed as a voidspren? Could we have a voidspren posing as Lusintia? I hate the idea, but am deeply intrigued by it at the same time.
  17. Right? And it's always so fun to see where Michael Whelan manages to secret away his signature.
  18. While I absolutely love this detail and am all about that theorycrafting, it's worth remembering the grain of salt that these covers are not Canon.
  19. I'm super curious to hear how you'd square Nohadon as the author with the namedrop of Kaladin Stormblessed in WaT (in-world). Thanks for clarifying, excellent food for thought. I'm thinking more and more about Shallan's Oaths and all of the weirdness with them. BS has mentioned this peculiarity a few times and referenced an in-house guide at Dragonsteel to keep track. Perhaps this was an instance of same Oath, different Spren. Could be that this one was re-sworn to Testament. I've wondered for some time if she has to swear a given oath (not necessarily the same words, but the same 'number') to both Spren to be of a particular 'Oath-level." BS is all about the limitations of magic being where the really interesting bits take place... perhaps with Shallan she gets the power-up of Double-Spren (One-and-a-Half-Spren?) and the wonkiness that comes with it but the limitation/drawback of having to have sworn to both Spren separately to achieve each level. I'm hoping hoping hoping it's all part of healing Testament. I believe there was a WoB way back when (found it) about re-swearing oaths being a possibility IFF the original Radiant were to re-swear them... and here we are.
  20. I'm not sure I understand what you're getting at... they already are "physical" in the CR.
  21. This was a storming delight! Thank you for that.
  22. I think it's also significant to note that she only reclaimed the Stormlight/Investiture - no whisper of any Windrunnery-ness beyond the fact that the person who initially anchored the Investiture was, himself, a Windrunner. So far we've largely focused on Kelek's words to Shallan as indicative of her ability to manifest her illusions physically... but I think the more significant breadcrumbs are continuing BS's theme of a mass/energy/investiture equivalency: "Kelek cocked his head. “Light… Yes. Light, energy, matter, Investiture. They’re all variations on a theme—the same essence, in different forms. That is especially important for you to understand, with your illusions.” She frowned. “But… illusions can’t change anything, Kelek. They’re just figments made of Stormlight.” “Oh?” Kelek said, pointing to the honorspren. “What do you think they are? Investiture. A form of Light. There were once Lightweavers who could give some substance, briefly, to the things they created.” “There were?” Shallan said. But then she thought back to a moment at the Battle of Thaylen Field where she could have sworn she’d felt the illusory versions of Radiant and Veil as if they were briefly real. It wasn’t the only time, was it? When one of her illusions had been a little too solid? Light… matter… energy. They were the same; when you manifested an object in Shadesmar, you used Stormlight to make a physical re-creation. And spren could be physical, even if they were made of Light." If these three can play together, interchange... it makes sense that Shallan - with her command of light and Two-Sprenned-Oddities - might just be able to claim static investiture. Her identity blurring seems critical to her claiming investiture that has been keyed, but in no way indicates an ability to do more than simply reclaim, reuse, recycle said investiture. Kolo?
  23. Now THIS I can get behind... that sort of connection to her possible selves would seem likely to give those projections far more substance than others... echos from the Spiritual Realm perhaps?
  24. They are, in fact, already bonded to a spren: https://wob.coppermind.net/events/452-youtube-spoiler-stream-1/#e14509
